Juanita R. Fenley, 89, died Friday, September 30, 2005, in MeritCare's Palliative Care Center, Fargo, ND.

Juanita was born on February 28, 1916 to George and Margie Bell (Bristow) Walker in Copperas Cove, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Alexander, Texas, graduating high school in 1932. In February 1934 she married Truman Fenley in Texas. They again got married in August 1990. Together they had one child, Patsy. Juanita retired at Ft. Walters Base in Mineral Wells, Texas in 1980. She moved to Dilworth in 2002.

She is survived by one daughter, Pat (Richard) Koester, Sabin, MN; three grandchildren, Debbie (Thomas) Lusk, White Hills, AZ, Dale (Kathy) Lantz, Reno, NV and Dan Lantz, Gainsville, TX; five great-grandchildren, Marina (Bob) Cortopassi, Henderson, NV, Larry (Katrina) Lusk, Colorado Springs, CO, Nicholas Lantz, Las Vegas, NV, Lindsay Lantz, Reno, NV, Steven Lantz, Gainsville, TX; three great-great-grandchildren, Emily Frazier, Henderson, NV, Paige and Grace Lusk, Colorado Springs, CO; and a very special dear friend, Eula Roberson, Bloomington, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Truett Walker.

Marie R. Hapka, 79
Died: Sunday, January 22, 2006, in her home, Moorhead, MN.
Sunday morning, January 22, 2006 Mom left to be with Dad and our Lord. Marie Rose Hapka was born September 13, 1926 near Argyle, MN.

She grew up and married Leonard where they shared their life farming and raising a family together near Argyle.

Mom's life and Happiness were Dad; her sons, Greg (Diane) of Fargo, Leon (Jean) of Argyle; daughters, Deb (Jim) Avery of Fargo, Della (Bill) Nystrom of Fargo, Carolyn (Bradley) Mosher of Kearney, NE; her 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Mom always said "don't write a bunch of stuff about me" So we won't, just that Mom had unconditional love, was a wonderful mom, wife, grandmother and friend to those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard; and her two brothers.

Kenneth E. Halvorson, 75
Died: Sunday, November 27, 2005, in Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN.
Kenneth E. Halverson, 75, Frazee Care Center, Frazee, MN, formerly Hawley, MN, died on Sunday, November 27, 2005, in the nursing home.

Kenneth was born on June 25, 1930, in Glyndon, MN, to Earl and Ruth Halverson. He grew up and attended school there. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1951, and then returned to Glyndon. He married Yvonne Wilson and they were later divorced. He married Peggy Loffelmacher in 1961 and they were later divorced. Kenneth was a sheet metal worker and he worked for Northern Heating in Fargo, ND, for fourteen years and then worked at Robert Gibb and Son's in Fargo for twenty-three years.

Kenneth is survived by three sons, John, of Barnesville, MN, and Pat and Vern of Moorhead, MN; two daughters, Joann Gomez, Dilworth, MN, and Deborah Barnhart of Texas City, TX; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Helen M. Connelly, 90
Died: Tuesday, November 08, 2005, in Good Samaritan Center, Pelican Rapids, MN.
Helen was born on March 10, 1915 to John and Mamie (Krabbenhoft) Connelly. She grew up and attended country school in rural Sabin and graduated high school from Moorhead High.

She attended Moorhead State Teachers College and graduated from Interstate Business College.

She remained on the family farm in Sabin until her father died. She moved to Arizona for a brief time before settling in Manhattan Beach, California. She worked for the Xerox Corporation as a bookkeeper until her retirement. She returned to Minnesota and lived on Tamarac Lake until entering the Good Samaritan Center.

Helen is survived by three nieces, Gail Suko, Erhard, MN, Gretchen Olsgard, Moorhead, MN, Marjorie (Gerald) Barth, Wanaska, MN; two nephews, Mike (Anita) Connelly, Baker, MN and Andrew (Astrid) Hadik, London, England; one sister in law, Ruth Connelly; and several grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Edna, and one brother Lawrence.

Everett D. Bolstad, 86
Died: Sunday, June 19, 2005, in Rosewood on Broadway Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.
Everett Donald Bolstad passed away Sunday June 18, 2005 at the Rosewood on Broadway nursing home in Fargo, ND.

Everett was born in Crookston Minnesota on January 11th, 1919 to Anna Ethel Griffin Bolstad and Oscar Knute Bolstad. He was the third, the youngest and the family's favorite child; he grew up to be the Bolstad Family patriarch, genealogist, historian, protector and care giver. Everett now rejoins his mother and father, his late brother Ellsworth Griffin Bolstad and his late sister Glenna LaRue Bolstad-Kent. The Bolstad Family moved to Fertile for a short time when Everett was three and then moved back to Crookston where Everett graduated from Crookston High School. The family then moved to Moorhead, Minnesota permanently in 1941. Everett continued his education at Concordia College and he graduated in 1947. He joined Pioneer Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1942 where he worked in various duties for the next 38 years until he retired as a Vice President. After retiring in 1981, Everett pursued his Masters Degree in Liberal Arts at Moorhead State University. He spent a summer studying at Oxford University and traveling through many capitals cities in Europe including London, Paris and Rome. Upon receiving his Masters degree in 1984 Everett continued on to work part time for the Masters Program at MSU. Everett was also active in his church, Our Saviors, in Moorhead, and taught Sunday School for over twenty years. Everett will be laid to rest next to his mother and father, brother and sister in Riverside cemetery, Moorhead, MN.

Everett is survived by his brother Ellsworth's two children, Lisa Bolstad of Los Angeles, California and Clifton Bolstad of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Carole M. Sagen, 64
Died: Monday, May 15, 2006, in May 15, 2006, in her lake home on Cotton Lake, near Detroit Lakes, MN.
Carole Marie (Metzroth) Sagen passed away on May 15, 2006 in her home on Cotton Lake, Rochert, MN, at the age of 64.

Carole was born on January 1, 1942 in St. Cloud, MN, to Charles and Margaret Metzroth. She lived in St. Cloud until age 5, and then moved to Fargo, ND, where she attended grade school, Agassiz Jr. High School and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1959. She attended NDSU for 2 years and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.

She married James A. Sagen on December 30, 1961 and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. Carole was employed at Community First Bank in Fargo, ND for 38 years until her retirement in 2001. She enjoyed spending her summers at the lake with family and friends. She loved to read, play cards, and was an avid sports fan. Carole will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Laura (John) Jones, Moorhead, MN; three grandchildren, Jamie, Megan and Mark; two sisters, Mary Kay (Roger) Bernstrom, Hallock, MN, Susan (John) Klassen, Whitefish, MT; and a brother, Tom (Cindy) Metzroth, San Antonio, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her parents, Charles and Margaret Metzroth.

Eleanor L. Clifton, 90
Died: Wednesday, March 01, 2006, in Moorhead Health Care Center, Moorhead, MN.
Eleanor Clifton, 90, of Moorhead, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, in Moorhead Health Care Center, Moorhead, MN.

Eleanor Lucille Sanders was born on December 14, 1915 to Floyd and Edna (Morris) Sanders in Rocky Ford, CO. She grew up and attended school in Rocky Ford, CO, graduating high school in 1934. In March 1938 she married Orrin Clifton in Castle Rock, CO, together they had three children. In 1977 she and her son George moved to Moorhead, where they have been since. Eleanor spent much of her life being a volunteer for many activities. She will be missed dearly by her family.

She is survived by one son, George Clifton, Moorhead, MN; one daughter, Mary Campbell, Westminster, CO; three sisters, Mildred Webb, Tucson, AZ, Carol (Don) Gause, Rocky Ford, CO, Prudence (Charles) Gee, Rocky Ford, CO; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son John Clifton; six brothers, Edwin, James, Homer, Robert, Jerry and Carl Sanders.

Olive P. Babolian, 92
Died: Monday, May 15, 2006, in MeritCare's Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Olive Pearl (Wright) Babolian, 92, died Monday, May 15, 2006. Olive was born December 16, 1913 to John and Maren (Froslan) Wright on the Ruterford Farm at St. James, MN, Watonwon County by Bullhead Lake. She was the sixth of 13 children. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. James First Lutheran Church. She attended District 51 country school and was the second in her family to graduate from the St. James High School.

She married Joe Babolian February 20, 1937 by E.R. Mathre at Estherville, Iowa. Together they had ten children. She worked as Joe's secretary for the Labor's Union Local 1160. When her last child finished school she went to work at Eventide Lutheran Home for 18 years in the dietary department and retired when she was 80 years old. She absolutely loved her job. When she was around 70 years old she taught herself to play the organ. She was an avid reader of magazines, newspapers and books. In her early years she often read the library books brought home by her children. She crocheted dozens of Afghans and doll dresses. She traveled to Germany four times to visit her son Vernon and his wife Heidi. She looked forward to the Wright-Froslan Family Reunion every year to get together with her family to laugh, eat, to drive by the old farm home, look at the lake and talk about where she found arrowheads. And if the water was lower she could take us right to the place where she found them.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn (Edwin) Edwards, Moorhead, MN, Clarice (Dennis) Edwards, Fargo, ND, Larry (Patricia) Glyndon, MN, Germaine (Victor) Gress, Felton, MN, Emory (Elizabeth), Fargo, ND, LeRoy, Glyndon, MN, Joe (deceased), Clinton, Moorhead, MN, Vernon (Heidi), Bechhofen, Germany, and Carl, Moorhead, MN. She has 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one daughter in law, Deborah, Missoula, MT.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, May 25, 1968, her son Joe, June 3, 2004 a great-granddaughter, Taylor, March 3, 2003, a daughter-in-law, Joan, November 14, 2002, her parents and ten siblings.

Sidney A. Ullrich, 86
Died: Saturday, November 05, 2005, in Innovis Health Systems, Fargo, ND.
Sidney was born August 23, 1919 to Marcus and Emma (Kelting) Ullrich at Barnesville, Minnesota. He grew up and attended rural school near Downer, Minnesota. He moved to Lake Park, Minnesota in 1936, where he worked various jobs in the Lake Park and Barnesville area, and also worked for farmers. Sidney was married to Thelma Strand at Lake Park Lutheran Church on July 18, 1943. In 1944 they began farming north of Lake Park. They moved into Lake Park in 1979 after retiring from farming. From 1990 until 2001 they spent winters in Texas and resided in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota during the summer months.

Sidney served ten years on the Cuba Township Board, the Wild Rice Electric Board, and was Vice President of Square Bute Electric at Center, North Dakota.

He enjoyed sports, golf, polka dancing and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edwin, and one great-granddaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ullrich, Lake Park, MN; two sons, Dennis (Karen) Ullrich, Lake Park, MN, and James (Jan) Ullrich, Lake Park, MN; one daughter, Connie (Wally) Bloom, Lake Park, MN; one brother, Robert (Jesse) Ullrich, Lake Park, MN; two sisters, Gladys Schrieter, Lake Park, MN, and Lucille Seabrook, Oxford, MI; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
