Donna M. Rodacker, 70, Fargo, North Dakota, died Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo

Donna M. Lyman was born to John H. and Lazetta Klemstein Lyman on May 30, 1932 at New Rockford, North Dakota. She grew up and attended school in Grace City, North Dakota, graduating from Grace City High School in 1950. Donna then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo after which she began work in insurance until joining First National Bank of Fargo. Donna M. Lyman married Darwin Rodacker in Carrington, North Dakota. She worked in Carrington for the Tri County Electric Cooperative over a period of thirty years, retiring as office manager. In 1995 Donna moved to Fargo and has lived here since. She had been working part time for American Federal Bank in downtown Fargo.

She is survived by her

Draper, Donald

Donald L. Draper, Sr., 77 of Fargo, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, surrounded by his loving family.

Donald Leroy Draper was born on July 16, 1928 to Earl and Rosetta (Wilson) Draper in Fargo and attended school in Fargo. He worked as a truck driver for Dakota Transfer and served in the US Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War. Donald married Juliann Mears on July 6, 1963. He was also employed with several other trucking lines, retiring from Century Mercury in 1990. Donald also served as an usher at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Earl Jr., and Duane; his daughter, Roxann and a niece, Sandra.

Donald is survived by his wife, Juliann of Fargo; sons Darrel (Brenda) of Fargo, Donald, Jr. (Kim) of West Fargo; sisters, Elaine Vogel of Fargo, Laura Olson of Minneapolis; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 18 from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and also one hour prior to the service in the church. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19 at 11:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo. Burial will be in Holy Cross North cemetery, Fargo.

Hoff, Raphael

Raphael (Ralph) Hoff died Tuesday, September 6, 2005, surrounded by loving friends.

Ralph was born November 20, 1932 in Otter Creek, ND and grew up on a farm near there. He was the son of Raphael and Anna Hoff. He enlisted in the Army in 1953. He served in the Army for a number of years and served in the Vietnam and Korean wars.

On September 5, 1959 he married Caretta Halvorson in West Berlin, Germany. Ralph and Caretta settled in Cincinnati, Ohio where Ralph worked for Proctor and Gamble. While living in Cincinnati, he attended the University of Cincinnati.

Ralph and Caretta had two sons, David and Dennis. After the birth of their sons, Ralph and Caretta moved to Fargo in 1980. He attended North Dakota State University. Ralph spent many of his last years working at the American Legion serving as Post Commander and was current First District Commander. He enjoyed fishing and attending NDSU Bison athletic events.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, his dear wife Caretta in 2003, and a brother Matt, Bismarck, ND.

He is survived by his sons David and Dennis (Alison), both of Fargo; his brothers, George (Irma), Helena, MT, Harold (Ann), Center, ND, and Hillary “Larry” (Bette), Crookston, MN; his sisters, Margaret (Leander) Ternes, Mandan, ND, Dorothy (Bernard) Bohl, New Hope, MN, and Beatrice Zander, Mandan, ND.

Seibold, Earl

Earl Seibold, age 55, 722 North Elm Street, Fargo, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Earl J. Seibold was born April 11, 1949, in New Rockford, ND, the son of John and Eleanor Seibold. He grew up and attended school in Cathay, ND, and graduated from New Rockford High School in 1967. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 1970 with a degree in mechanized agriculture. He was united in marriage to Stephanie Dukart on September 8, 1970, in Fargo. They lived in Fargo for a short time, then moved to St. Louis, MO, where Earl worked for Busch Gardens. They later returned to Fargo where he worked at Steve’s Package and also Coca-Cola. He then co-owned and operated S & S Builders in Fargo. He was later owner/operator of Thompson Brothers. At the time of his death, Earl was employed as owner/operator for Minn-Dak Transportation of Pelican Rapids, MN.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie of Fargo; three children, Tiffany Parson (David Roquet) of Falls Church, VA, Heidi Seibold (Patrick Wegner) of Maple Grove, MN, and Shaun Seibold (Sarah) of Hazel Park, MI; one grandson, Alexander Wegner; his mother, Eleanor Seibold of Pelican Rapids, MN; and one sister, Carolyn Seibold (Larry Gladstone) of Jennings, OK.

A memorial service will be held at 10 AM Monday in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM Sunday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.

Edward John (Jack) Hilber

Edward John (Jack) Hilber, 91, of Fargo, died March 19, 2005, at Manor Care in Fargo.

He was born July 2, 1913, in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Fargo Central High School and attended North Dakota State University. He worked for Bell Telephone through its various regional name changes from 1935 until retiring from Northwestern Bell in 1975. He retired as Assistant Plant Supervisor in Fargo. During his long career he held many supervisory positions including North Dakota Area Toll Service Supervisor.

On May 28, 1938, Jack married Clarissa Genevieve Lucier at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fargo. They lived in Fargo, LaMoure, Oakes and Grand Forks, N.D. They helped start the St. Vincent de Paul Society in Fargo, and were active members of St. Anthony’s Parish there from 1956 to 1975. After his retirement they moved near Pelican Rapids, MN, where they operated Blue Candle Haven Organic Farm. They also operated a natural food store in Pelican Rapids. Finally they bought a farm near Lake Lida and created Lida Greens Golf Course in 1981, now operated by son Joseph and his wife Nancy.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Clarissa, one daughter, Patricia, two brothers, Richard and Robert of Fargo, and two sisters, Beatrice Tschida of Tucson, AZ, and GertrudeAnderson of Fargo.

He is survived by children, Joseph (Nancy) Hilber of Pelican Rapids, Mary Jo Jennings of Fresno, CA, Anne (Albert) Nephew of Duluth, MN, Thomas (Cheryl) Hilber of St. Paul, Tony (Martha) Hilber of Denver, CO, Bernard (Stephanie) Hilber of Strathmore, CA, Richard (Barbara) of Minneapolis, Eva (Gene) Kelly of Fargo, Theresa Hilber of Vadnais Hts., MN, Marguerite (Peter) Mielke of Stillwater, MN Judith (Duane) Roman of Osceola, Wis., and Donna Olson Hilber of Newhall, CA; 27 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; one brother, Burt (Mitzy) of Fargo, and one sister, Betty Lou Sobers of Simi Valley, CA, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Although he was well-known as a softball pitcher and hockey player in his youth, Jack’s great sports love was golf. He won or was runner-up in many amateur golf tournaments, helped establish a public golf course at Oakes, N.D., promoted amateur tournaments at public golf courses such as Edgewood in Fargo, volunteered as a golf teacher for youth for many years, and was inducted into the North Dakota Golf Hall of Fame in 1973.

Jack was the top amateur golfer for Fargo Central High School golf team in all of his years there. He was a participant in the North Dakota State Amateur Golf Tournament from 1931-1972 where he placed second three times: 1932, 1933, and 1941. In 1935 he was golf pro for a year at the Bois De Sioux course in Wahpeton, ND. After that he went back to being an amateur and then represented North Dakota at National Public Links Golf Tournaments. In 1957 he captured the state medalist title with a 69, a record at the time. Between 1932 and 1954 he won club championships at Fargo (Fargo Country Club and Edgewood), LaMoure, Oakes and Grand Forks Lincoln Park. He was president of golf clubs at LaMoure, Oakes, Lincoln Park (Grand Forks) and three terms at Edgewood (Fargo). One of his most enjoyable off-the-course activities was volunteer teaching at the YWCA where he tutored 160 women golfers in four years.

Jack was very active in the various parishes in which he and Clarissa were members, more recently St. Anthony’s in Fargo and St. Leonard’s in Pelican Rapids. He served as president of the Fargo Diocese Cursillo.

Jack was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was former Grand Knight of the Fargo Chapter and was State General Program Chairman, 1963-65. In 1967 Jack finally won the annual Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament in Fargo after coming in second many times. He was quoted in the press saying he was happy to have finally won “after trying since the Hoover Administration.”

Jack was active in civic affairs. He took a leadership role in the 1960s in an unsuccessful effort to change the form of Fargo city government to the mayor-council form. He headed the successful fund drive for the St. John’s Hospital in the 1960s. In Pelican Rapids he was the Director of Civil Defense.

Liedahl, Ida

Ida Liedahl, 94, Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND, formerly of McLeod, ND, died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in Elim Care Center, Fargo.

Ida Solhjem was born June 9, 1910, in rural Leonard, ND, to Iver and Raghnild (Neprud) Solhjem. She attended school at Sheyenne Central in rural McLeod. Ida married Nels Liedahl on February 6, 1935, at Enderlin, ND. Nels and Ida farmed and ranched in the Leonard and McLeod areas.

Ida loved gardening and quilting. She was active in the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Leonard, and was a soloist who sang at many funerals and church services. Ida’s husband, Nels, died May 19, 1996, and Ida continued to live on the farm until January 2000 when she moved to Elim Care Center in Fargo.

Ida is survived by her three sons: Gerald (Nancy) Kindred, ND, David (Elaine) Liedahl, Alta Loma, CA, and Darrel (Stephanie), McLeod, ND; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Ida is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Fred; and six sisters, Clara, Bena, Frieda, Hulda, Ruth and Stella.

The Funeral for Ida will be Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, rural Leonard, ND. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Church cemetery.

The Prayer Service will be Monday, March 14, 2005, at 7:00 pm at the Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND, with visitation from 5:00-7:00pm.

There will also be visitation at the Elim Care Center, Monday, March 14, 2005, from 1:30 pm -3:00 pm.

Arrangements entrusted to the care of Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND.
