Dolores A. Wengeler
Dolores Arlene Wengeler, age 83, died peacefully at Bethany Towers, Fargo, ND, on Monday, January 24, 2005.
Dolores was born September 21, 1921, the daughter of Perry and Annette (Mickelson) Froseth, in Thief River Falls, MN, where she graduated from Lincoln High School and lived for most of her life. Shortly after high school, Dolores started work at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. She married
Raymond Wengeler July 21, 1945, in Thief River Falls. Ray soon achieved his dream of buying a farm northwest of town. While keeping his position at Thief River Co-op Creamery, Ray and Dolores both worked on the farm, providing their children with an ideal environment for their young lives. When their children had reached school age, they moved back into town, to the Wengeler house which had already been home to three generations of the family. Raymond died May 2, 1972. Dolores returned to work at Northwestern Bell, retiring in 1984.
Dolores expressed her artistic talent in decorating the family home on Markley Avenue, designing and sewing beautiful clothes for her children, preparing memorable meals and holiday celebrations. She loved children, music and animals. In her later years, she worked crossword puzzles and carefully tended several bird feeders in her yard, accompanied by her beloved dog, Buddy. She had recently moved into assisted living at Bethany Towers, where she enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with staff and residents.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Loyal Froseth.
Survivors include her four children, Barbara Nusz, Grapevine, TX, Katherine (Craig) Olson, Moorhead, MN, John (Rhoda) Wengeler, Thief River Falls, MN, and Joseph Wengeler, White Bear Lake, MN; two brothers, Perry (Arlene) Froseth, Portland, OR, and Gordon Froseth, Sauk Center, MN; five grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, in lieu of a funeral service, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Michael Stabnow
Michael David Stabnow was born February 16, 1983, in Fargo, ND to David Stabnow and Judy (Wientjes) Stabnow. He attended elementary school in Moorhead, MN, and completed his last 5 years of school in Barnesville, MN, graduating from Barnesville High School in 2001.
Since that time he has been employed in the Fargo area in various capacities. Most recently, he has enjoyed being in the detail department of Tri-State Auto in West Fargo, ND.
Michael has always enjoyed being with his cousins and other kids as well as spending time with the family dog. In later years, hunting, fishing, frisbee golfing, and swimming occupied his leisure time.
On Sunday, September 11, 2005, Michael died at his home in Moorhead, MN at the age of 22 years.
His family includes his father, David (Lynn) Stabnow of Moorhead; mother, Judy (Darrell) Broadaway of Manitowoc, WI; sister, Candy Stabnow of Two Rivers, WI; brother, Jason (Erin) Stabnow of Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
VISITATION: Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead on Wednesday September 14, 2005 from 5- 7 pm.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead on Thursday, September 15, 2005, 10:30 a.m.
INTERMENT: Riverside cemetery, Moorhead.
Estelle M. Sorenson
Estelle Marion McMaster was born November 11, 1919, near Grandin, ND, to Elmer and Matilda (Aasen) McMaster.
Estelle was raised in that area and confirmed at Bethania Lutheran Church in 1934. She graduated from high school in Hendrum, MN, in the class of 1938.
Soon after graduation, Estelle began working at a retail store in Hendrum and then Perley, MN. She continued her career in retail sales in Fargo, where she worked for Herbst Department Store, Buttrey’s, and Sears. She retired from Sears with twenty-four years of service.
She was united in marriage to Ralph A. Sorenson on December 12, 1940, in Moorhead, MN. Following retirement, she and Ralph divided their time between Moorhead and their home on Ottertail Lake. Ralph died April 5, 2003, and Estelle continued to make her home in Moorhead.
Estelle died Saturday, November 26, 2005, in her home in Moorhead, under the kind and compassionate care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, at eighty-six years of age.
Estelle is survived by her daughter, Marion (Robert “Butch”) MacArthur, Fargo; two grandsons, Todd (Carol) Cannon, Mantorville, MN, and Chris (Annette) Cannon, West Fargo, ND; one step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Scott) Bundy, Lino Lakes, MN; one step-grandson, Bob MacArthur, Fargo; one great-grandson; two great-granddaughters; one step-great-grandson; and one step-great-granddaughter.
Visitation for Estelle will be Tuesday, November 29, 2005, from 6 – 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 1 PM, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
Memorials are requested to Hospice of the Red River Valley, in Estelle’s name.
James T. Sellent
James T. Sellent, 45, San Diego, CA, formerly of Sabin, MN, died Thursday, October 20, 2005, in Ely, NV.
James Sellent was born June 24, 1960, in Moorhead, MN, to Edward and Barbara Sellent. Jim was raised in Sabin and graduated from Moorhead High School.
Jim moved to San Diego, CA, in 1987, where he owned and operated an office supply company and most recently a pool service company.
Jim is survived by his parents, Edward and Barbara Sellent, Sabin; two brothers, Steven (Nadine), Moorhead, and Carl (Barbara), San Diego; one sister, Barbara (Arlie) Moses, Houston, TX; sister-in-law, Carol, West Fargo, ND; two nieces, Amanda (Nick) Dablow and Kristin Sellent; and one nephew, William Sellent.
Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents and a brother, Edward John Sellent.
Visitation: Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005; 1 – 2 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin.

George M. Sebestl
George Mark Sebestl was born April 25, 1922, in North Dakota, near Georgetown, MN, to Rudolph and Mary (Stasch) Sebestl. He was the youngest of six children.
George attended grade school in Georgetown and graduated from high school in Hendrum, MN. After graduation, George continued his life of farming on the family farm near Argusville, ND. He farmed with his brother, Tony, until he retired. He moved to Manorcare Health Services, Fargo, ND, in May of 2001.
George died at Manorcare on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at eighty-three years of age.
George was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Georgetown. He was a past-president of the Georgetown Community Club and past-treasurer of Perley Rod and Gun Club. George was active in Wiser Township activities. He served as township assessor for about twenty-five years and the election board for many years.
George is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers and sisters.
Visitation for George will be Thursday, December 29, 2005, from 5 – 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. A funeral mass will be Friday, December 30, 2005, at 11 AM, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Georgetown. Burial will follow in Wild Rose cemetery, Georgetown.
Carol A. Scroggins
Carol Ann Scroggins, 63, Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.
Carol Ann Scroggins was born May 26, 1942, to Byron and Doris (Brandenbury) Bowerman, in Detroit, MI, where she was raised and spent her early adult years.
Carol lived in many places during her lifetime, including New York, Kansas, and Arizona where she attended the University of Arizona at Tucson. At one time, Carol was married
to Etgar Scroggins.
Carol came to Minnesota in June of 2004 and lived in Fergus Falls before moving to Moorhead in January of 2005.
Carol is survived by her mother, Doris Bowerman; and a sister, Sandra Sauer, both in California.

Donabell Joy Qualey
Donabell Joy Qualey, 67, Fargo, ND, died on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. She passed away surrounded by her children after a long and courageous battle with cancer. The memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 19, 2005, in First Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Donabell Joy Qualey was born on August 14, 1937, in Lester Prairie, MN. She was a petite, fiery little girl with a magnetic smile and a laugh that filled the room. She loved movies and music, and was active in school clubs. She graduated from Lester Prairie High School in 1955.
In 1956, Donabell married
Donald Qualey. Soon after, they moved to Fargo, where she raised and loved her four children and the more than 30 foster babies she took care of. They divorced in 1979 after more than 23 years of marriage.
In the 1980s, Donabell was a dedicated, hard-working mother who worked as many as three jobs at a time to support her family. Lured by the promise of sunshine and an arthritis-friendly climate, Donabell moved to Mesa, AZ in 1991. She worked at Isola Laminate Systems until she retired in Dec, 2002. During that same month, she would begin the fight of her life.
In 2003, she moved back to Fargo to fight a tireless battle against cancer, while surrounded by her family. Donabell loved her children, and she absolutely lived for her grandchildren. Without fail, in the worst of her times, they brought out that laugh of hers, and like magic still, it filled the room. She never gave up hope, never lost her positivity, and she never stopped smiling. She smelled life's flowers and danced like no one was watching. But most of all, she loved.
Donabell is survived by her four children, Scott Qualey, Naomi (Bill) Edwards, Mark Qualey, and Cory (Misty) Qualey (all Fargo); four grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Kayla and Taylor; and a sister LaVeta Zwack, Maple Grove, MN. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Lydia Brecht, two brothers Vern and Ferdinand Brecht, and grandson Kyle Schaffer.

Danny J. Plienis
Danny Junior Plienis, son of William and Elizabeth (Heidt) Plienis, was born December 24, 1948, in Bismarck, ND. He received his education in Wing, ND and later Linton, ND. Following his education he worked as a farm laborer for several farms around the Bismarck area. He moved to Fargo, ND, in 1974, and worked for Northern Improvement Construction Co.
Danny was united in marriage to Judy Peterson on July 10, 1975, in Moorhead. The couple made their home in Fargo and in 1980 they moved to Moorhead. Danny retired from Northern Improvement in 2003, after working there for 29 years.
Danny enjoyed working outdoors and repairing cars and tractors. He loved his job, his two dogs and especially spending time with his family.
Danny J. “Bud” Plienis, died Sunday, November 6, 2005, in Moorhead Health Care Center, Moorhead.
He is survived by his wife Judy, Moorhead; two daughters, Kari Plienis, Moorhead and Rena (Travis) Bjerke, Sabin, MN; three grandaughters; two brothers, Harold (Ladonna), Bismarck, and Jim (Rusty), Linton, ND: two sisters, Judy Scott, Mandan, ND, and Virgina Pidarson, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Charles W. Pixley
Charles Wilton Pixley, the son of Royce and Hattie (Boone) Pixley, was born March 3, 1919 at Fargo, ND, where he grew up and received his education. On July 27, 1940, Charles was united in marriage to Vivian M. Sandie, at First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead.
Charles and Vivian made their home in the Fargo-Moorhead area, where Charles owned and operated an independent paint and decorating business for a number of years. He later worked at First National Bank in Fargo and retired in 1971. After retirement, Charles worked part-time at the Clay County jail.
Charles died on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at the Moorhead Healthcare Center, at the age of 85.
Charles is survived by his wife, Vivian of Moorhead; a son, LeRoy (Theresa) Pixley, Moorhead; a daughter, LaDonne Steinkopf, Moorhead; three grandchildren, Michelle (Paul) Bannerman, Matthew Pixley and Nathan Steinkopf; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Bannerman and Alexis and Danica Steinkopf.
Memorial service: Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at 11 AM, Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead, Minnesota.
