at 2 p.m. on April 28, 2002, at East Flat Rock Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Porter officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lee Autry of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of the late O.L. “Boots” Montgomery, the late Mary Sue Montgomery, Retha Autry of Fayetteville and the late J.W. Autry. She is the step-granddaughter of Elsie Montgomery of Fayetteville.
The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. George L. Sweat of Angier. He is the grandson of Elaine Patterson of Winston-Salem, the late D.M. Patterson, the late Leonard Thevenin and Mr. and Mrs. George P. Sweat of Winston-Salem.
The bride wore a sleeveless white matte satin gown with a braided and embroidered beaded insert at the waist and on the chapel-length train. She carried a mixed bouquet of white and pink tulips accented with lilies of the valley. The couple was married
on the 56th anniversary of the bride’s maternal grandparent’s wedding.
The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Dawn A. Johnson of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Amy Lindsey of Knoxville, Tenn.; Christy Sweat of Raleigh; Jerrilyn Johnson of Hendersonville; and Marion Pitts of Memphis, Tenn. The flower girl was Savannah Lindsey of Knoxville, Tenn.
The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Matthew Sacrinty of Atlanta, Stephen Weiman of Chapel Hill, Jeffrey Blythe of Hendersonville and Michael Autry of Fayetteville. The ushers were Freddy Johnson Jr. of Fayetteville and Dave Lindsey of Knoxville, Tenn.
The wedding was directed by Dianne Gatta. The wedding musicians were violinist Chris Lieu, pianist Christan Raxter, vocalist Renee Bryan, guitarist Scott Bryan and vocalist and guitarist Joe Palisoc.
A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at Camp Tekoa where the couple first met.
The bride is a graduate of Seventy-First Senior High School in Fayetteville. She received her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She will be attending East Carolina University in June to pursue her teaching certification. She is a youth director with East Flat Rock Methodist Church in Hendersonville.
The bridegroom is a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in recreation administration and management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a career counselor with East Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville.
After a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple settled in Hendersonville.

The bride is a graduate of Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville. She received her bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy from Winston-Salem State University. She is a habilitation specialist with the Cumberland County Mental Health Dorothy Spainhour Center in Fayetteville.
The groom is a graduate of North Lenoir High School in Kinston. He is a quality assurance inspector with Dupont in Kinston.
After a honeymoon trip to the Virgin Islands, the couple settled in Fayetteville.
