Christopher Todd Brower

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Tyrone Brothers of Norfolk, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Sharon Marie Whitley of Spring Lake, to Christopher Todd Brower of Vass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Everette Brower. The bride-elect also is the daughter of the late James Rudolph Whitley and the honorary daighter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bethea Jr. of Spring Lake and Mrs. Julia G. Graham of Fayetteville.

The couple plans to marry at 3 p.m. on August 31, 2002, at the North Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Fayetteville with Mr. James Bethea Jr. officiating.

The couple plans to live in Vass.

Robert Thomas Lahiff

Barbara Lee Hughes and Robert Thomas Lahiff, both of Hope Mills, were married icon at 6 p.m. on September 29, 2001, at the Radisson Prince Charles Hotel in Fayetteville. Pastor Nicholas Smith officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Judith Keller and the late Robert Thiemann of Ohio. She is the stepdaughter of John Keller of Ohio. The groom is the son of Virginia Windsor of Fayetteville and Steven Lahiff of Virginia. He is the stepson of Larry Windsor of Fayetteville and Bonnie Lahiff of Virginia.

The bride wore a gown of ivory Italian satin which featured a unique scalloped sweetheart neckline and short sleeves. The neckline, sleeves and train were trimmed in rum-pink Italian satin. The bodice featured a basque waistline and alencon beaded lace. Extended from the waist was a double-layer, semicathedral-length train. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of bluebird roses, Eskimo roses accented with pink livia roses adorned with stephanotis, pearls and English ivy. Her headpiece was a spray of ivory and rum-pink rosettes. Accenting the head piece were seeded pearls and and a layered double-illusion scalloped tulle veil, accented with ivory pearls.

The bride was escorted by her sons, Aaron Hughes and Ryan Hughes, both of Hope Mills. The matron of honor was the bride’s friend, Jo Jenkins of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Diane Deering Lewis of Fayetteville and the bride’s daughter, Marissa Hughes of Hope Mills.

The flower girl was the groom’s sister, Jacqueline Lahiff of Virginia.

The best man was the groom’s friend, Mike Phelps of Virginia. The groomsmen were Clint Carter of Fayetteville, and Aaron Hughes and Ryan Hughes, both of Hope Mills.

The wedding vocalist was Emmanual Rogers.

A reception was held immediately following the ceremony in the Terrace Ballroom of the Radisson Prince Charles Hotel.

The bride is a graduate of Summit County Day College Preparatory School in Cincinatti, Ohio. She earned an associate’s degree from the Academy of Communicative Art and a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University, both located in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a Regional Director of Hotel Sales for the Daly Seven Corp. of Danville, Va.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Pine Forest Senior High School in Fayetteville. He is employed with the Kelly Springfield Tire Co. in Fayetteville.

After a honeymoon trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Atlanta, Ga., the couple settled in Hope Mills.

Jamie Christopher Fisher

DUNN — Lawanda Paige Ennis and Jamie Christopher Fisher, both of Erwin, were married icon at 3 p.m. on April 20, 2002, at Sansom Community Chapel Church in Dunn with the Rev. Jerome C. Pope officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip R. Ennis of Erwin. She is the granddaughter of Evelyn Ennis of Dunn, the late Hubert Ennis, the late John Godwin and the late Shirley Godwin Stephens.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fisher of Erwin. The bridegroom’s grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fisher of Erwin and the late Ann Norris.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Stephanie Wheeler of Dunn. The bridesmaid was Christy Fisher of Erwin. The junior bridesmaid was Whitney Riddle of Erwin. The flower girl was Katie Riddle of Erwin.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Ken Pope, Jason Ennis and Joey Barefoot, all of Erwin.

The wedding was directed by Tina Butler. The wedding musicians were Abby Norris, Connie Beasley and David Crane Jr.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at Frisco’s City Club in Dunn after the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Triton High School in Erwin. She received her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Carolina Community College in Sanford. She is a preschool teacher with Two By Two Daycare Inc. in Benson.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Triton High School in Erwin. He is self-employed.

After a honeymoon trip to Wilmington, the couple will live in Erwin.

Toni Liberato Pietrantoni

DURHAM — Jaime Michelle Edge of Cary and Toni Liberato Pietrantoni of Raleigh were married icon at 4 p.m. on April 27, 2002, at the Duke University Chapel. Pastor Nancy Ferree-Clark and Father Joseph Vetter officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Carey and Nancy Edge of Hope Mills. The groom’s parents are Loreto Pietrantoni of Rochester, N.Y., and the late Concettina Pietrantoni.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s mother. The bridesmaids were Christie Edge of Asheville, Elizabeth Hall of Lumber Bridge, Suzanne Mewborn of Raleigh, Angie Sanders of Fuquay-Varina and Danielle Pietrantoni of Rochester, N.Y.

The best man was the groom’s brother, Maurizio Pietrantoni of Rochester, N.Y. The groomsmen were Antonio Gianni, Steve Natale and Ronnie Rost, all of Raleigh; and Nick Palmieri and Rob Terra, both of Rochester, N.Y.

The bride is a graduate of South View High School in Hope Mills. She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master’s degree in library science from North Carolina Central University in Durham. She is an information specialist with The Dialog Corp. in Cary.

The groom is a graduate of E.J. Wilson High School in Spencerport, N.Y. He received his associate’s degree in engineering science from Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y., and his bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is an associate project engineer with Underwriters Laboratories in Research Triangle Park.

After a honeymoon trip to San Francisco, Calif., and Las Vegas, Nev., the couple plans to live in Cary.

HOLDEN BEACH — Theresa V. Freeman and John L. Hancock, both of Holden Beach, were married icon at 1 p.m. on April 13, 2002, on the beach. The Rev. John Gray officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Helen Phillips of Laurinburg and the late Herman Phillips. The groom’s parents are Trudie Hancock of Concord and the late Harley Hancock.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Ralph Vitale of Bladenboro. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, JoAnn V. Locklear of Laurinburg. The shell girl was Lace Vitale of Laurinburg.

The best man was the groom’s brother, Jerry Hancock of Kannapolis.

The bride is a graduate of Scotland High School in Laurinburg.

The groom is a graduate of North West Cabarrus High School in Concord. He is a real estate broker with RE/MAX at the Beach in Sunset Beach.

The bride received her bachelor’s degree in management from A&T State University in Greensboro and her master’s degree in business administration from High Point University. She is employed with Kraft Foods in Charlotte.

The groom received his bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his master’s degree in business administration from Webster University in Columbia, S.C. He is employed with the VA Medical Center of Salisbury.

After a honeymoon trip to Ochos Rios, Jamaica, the couple will live in Salisbury.

Mr. and Mrs. Nixon were married icon on May 5, 1977, in White Plains, N.Y. They have four children, Duane Nixon and wife Natasha of Hinesville, Ga.; Brandon Nixon of Charlotte; Akaieem Nixon of Greensboro; and Raven Poole-Nixon of Fayetteville. The couple has one grandson.
