LUMBERTON — Rebecca Lee Taylor of Chapel Hill and Joshua Dean Lankford of Shelby, were married icon at 3 p.m. on April 27, 2002, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Russell Cherry officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Taylor of Lumberton. She is the granddaughter the late Mr. and Mrs. Glen Allen of Tar Heel and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Taylor of Dublin.

The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lankford of Shelby. He is the grandson of Reba Lankford of Shelby, the late Morris Lankford, Hugh Lowery of Shelby and the late Thelma Lowery.

The bride wore a white French satin gown which was overlayed with a silk mesh, adorned with embroidered flowers. The bodice was accented with a round neckline and long fluted sleeves to complement the natural waistline. The skirt flowed into a full A-line skirt, complete with semicathedral train. She wore a cathedral-length veil and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses and white and pink tulips with white-satin wrapped stems.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Noel Taylor Willcutt of Pegram, Tenn. The bridesmaids were Erica Meekins Johnson of Lumberton, Lori Speight Meador of Durham, and Maria Lynn Ray and Erin Melissa Mintmier, both of Chapel Hill. The junior bridesmaid was Emma Ashleigh Willcutt of Pegram, Tenn.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Matthew Harrison Hines and Rodney Lee Ledford, both of Chapel Hill; Joey Carter Bouchard of Charleston, S.C.; and Christopher Lee Lankford of Charlotte. The junior groomsman was Cameron Scott Willcutt of Pegram, Tenn.

The wedding was directed by Billy Davis. The wedding musicians were vocalist Lisa Rust, organist Zollene Reissner and harpist Laurie Muirhead.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents was held in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

The bride is a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a marketing coordinator with Eli Research in Research Triangle Park.

The bridegroom a graduate of Crest High School in Shelby. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a category development manager with Acosta in Charlotte.

After a honeymoon trip to the Mayan Riviera, the couple plans to live in Charlotte.

Timothy Jason Clark

Jonna Carrie Britt of Fayetteville and Timothy Jason Clark of Leland were married icon at 5 p.m. on April 27, 2002, at Salem United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Jay Winston officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Britt Jr. of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Pamela Walker Hewett of Ocean Isle Beach and A. Greg Clark of Leland. He is the stepson of James R. Hewett of Ocean Isle Beach.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maids of honor were the bride’s friends, Courtney Jessup of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Tiffany McDaniel of Raleigh. The bridesmaids were Chrissy Hewett of Wilmington, Stacey Hewett of Chapel Hill and Adrienne Marchello of Raleigh. The junior attendant was Aaron Smith of Fayetteville. The flower girls were Jesse Smith of Fayetteville and Morgan Phillips of Wilmington. The ring bearer was Seth Smith of Fayetteville.

The best man was the groom’s brother, Dennis Clark of Greenville. The groomsmen were Joshua Britt and Jonas Britt, both of Chapel Hill, and Jeff Clark and Greg Hollis, both of Leland.

The bride is a graduate of Fayetteville Academy. She received her bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and biochemistry from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She is a chemical technician with Oxford Lab in Wilmington.

The groom is a graduate of North Brunswick High School in Leland. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is a civil engineer with Houston and Associates in Shallote.

After a honeymoon trip to Jamaica and St. Lucia, the couple will live in Leland.

The bridesmaid was Kristen Cordier of Altus, Okla. The flower girl was Molly Westbrook of Fayetteville. The ring bearer was Bryce Poremba of Chapel Hill.

The best man was Steve Walker of Boone. The groomsmen were Wade Hayes III of Sacramento, Calif., and Michael Houdak of Fayetteville.

The bride received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Appalachian State University in Boone. She is currently pursuing her juris doctorate degree at Campbell University in Buies Creek.

The groom received his bachelor’s degree in business banking and finance at Appalachian State University in Boone. He is a self-employed contractor with Todd Poremba Home Improvement.

After a seven-day Southern Caribbean cruise, the couple settled in Fuquay-Varina.

Tiffany Anne Hodges and David Andrew Parker, both of Atlanta, were married icon at 6 p.m. on April 27, 2002, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Dr. James C. Cammack officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Latham Pate Hodges of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Van Parker of Fayetteville.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Heather Gooding of Chesapeake, Va. The bridesmaids were Julie High, Courtney Edgerton, Vicki Wood and Ashlee Dixon, all of Raleigh; Darlene Gooch of Butner; Susan Fry of Hickory; and Donna Parker of Fayetteville. The flower girl was Madeline Day of Atlanta. The ring bearer was Jackson Parker of Fayetteville.

The groom is a graduate of Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville. He received his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is an accountant with the Georgia Department of Audit in Atlanta.
