Mr. & Mrs. Beckworth
Norma Jean Beckworth and Thomas E. Beckworth of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 10, 2002, with a party for family and friends hosted by their daughters at the Professional Business Women's Club in Fayetteville. They renewed their vows at their home on March 12, 2002. Mr. & Mrs. Beckworth were married
on March 12, 1952, at the Church of Christ in Alma, Ga. They have two daughters, Marsha LaFontaine and Susan Radtke, both of Fayetteville, and a deceased daughter, Brenda Raynor. The couple has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A special thanks to all who attended.

Hilda Dees Melton and James A. Melton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 10, 2002, with a cake cutting in Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Melton were married
on February 23, 1952, at the home of Mr. Melton’s parents. They have three children, Greg Melton and wife Donna of Fayetteville, Mel Melton and wife Renee of China Grove and Jim Melton of Houston, Texas. The couple has nine grandchildren.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan James Wilkie of Hope Mills. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. David Cole of Fayetteville.
The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister-in-law, Kristin Cole of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Kimberly Hogsten and Jennifer Day, both of Fayetteville, and Christa Wilkie of Hope Mills.
The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Michael Laferte and Steven Day, both of Fayetteville, Eric Cole of Charlotte and Jonathon Alveraz of Linden. The ushers were Johnny Reynolds, Jason Brown, Justin McLamb and Blain Wilkie, all of Fayetteville.
The bride is a graduate of Pine Forest Senior High School and is currently attending Fayetteville State University. She is a loan clerk at Bragg Mutual Federal Credit Union in Fayetteville.
The groom is a graduate of New Hope Christian School and is currently attending Fayetteville Technical Community College. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corp. for four years. He is a contractor with Carolina Cable Installations in Elizabethtown and Whiteville.
