The bride is the daughter of Mary McCoy of Fayetteville. She is the stepdaughter of Walter Dawson of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Hattie Harris of Cleveland, Ohio, and Joe Louis Chapple of Valley, Ala.

The bride was escorted by her stepfather. The maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Crystal James of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Juliet Fyler of Atlanta; Robyn Nation of Raleigh; Trina Hunt of Landover, Md.; and Cheryl Hill of Alexandria, Va. The attendants were Phenicia Gaskin, Kechia McCoy, Tanya McCoy, Anita McCoy, Sharina Gandy, Carmen McCoy and Sasha Torrance. The junior attendants were Precious McCoy and Gilbriana Adkins. The flower girl was the bride’s daughter, Amani McCoy. The bell ringer was Rodney Baker.

The best man was the groom’s friend, Emory Hill of Laurel, Md. The groomsmen were Arthur Johnson and Gary Quarles, both of Cary; and Robert McCoy and B.J. McCoy, both of Fayetteville. The junior usher was Clifton McCoy.

The bride is in the U.S. Army stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

The groom is an installation technician with Allegiance Telecom Business Internet in Greenbelt, Md.

After a honeymoon trip to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple settled in Landover, Md.

Mr. & Mrs. Davis

Kathleen S. Davis and James A. Davis of Hope Mills celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 2, 2002, with a dinner hosted by their children at The Barn Restaurant in Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Davis were married icon on February 29, 1952, in Dillon, S.C. They have four children, Jim Davis and spouse Susie Bullard Davis of Ontario, Canada; Tommy Davis and spouse Connie Henderson Davis of Hope Mills; Bobby Davis and spouse Rita Bell Davis of Hope Mills; and Danny Davis and spouse Kathy Herbert Davis of Louisville, Ky. The couple has eight grandchildren.

Christopher Michael Miller

Mr. and Mrs. Hildreth C. Gore Jr. of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Marcelyn Camille Gore of Fayetteville, to Christopher Michael Miller of Franklin, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael D. Miller of Spokane, Wash.

The couple plans to marry at 6:30 p.m. on May 4, 2002, at Haymount United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Dr. Brian Gentle will officiate.

The bride-elect received her Bachelor¹s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from North Carolina State University and she earned her Master¹s of Business Administration from Fayetteville State University. She is is currently employed in Fayetteville as the Media Director for Hodges Associates Inc.

The bridegroom-elect received Bachelor¹s degrees in Chemical Engineering and Textile Chemistry with a concentration in Polymers from North Carolina State University. He is employed with Resinall Corporation in Severn as the Process Group Supervisor.

The couple plans to live in Suffolk, Va.

The groom is a graduate of Cape Fear High School and Methodist College, both in Fayetteville, and North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is an agent with the North Carolina Farm Bureau in Fayetteville.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Carolina Central University and a master’s degree in community/ clinical psychology from Norfolk State University. She also received a school counselor certification from Campbell University. She is employed with the Cumberland County Schools.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree in sociology from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in recreation and park administration from Western Illinois University. He is employed with Cumberland County Mental Health.

The couple settled in Fayetteville.

Betty J. Booth and William “Bill” G. Booth of Spring Lake celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2002, with a catered barbecue hosted by their children at the Kelly Springfield Recreational Facility in Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Booth were married icon on March 1, 1952, in Williamston, S.C.

They have three children, Johnny L. Booth and Shay B. Owen, both of Fayetteville, and the late Mike Booth. The couple has six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. & Mrs. Lynch

Teruko T. Lynch and John F. Lynch of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 3, 2002, with a reception for family and friends hosted by their children at the Hope Mills Shrine Club. Mr. and Mrs. Lynchwere married icon on March 4, 1952, in Kobe, Japan.

They have three children, Joanne M. Lovick and spouse David, Barbara L. Thomas and spouse Jeff, and John H. Lynch and spouse Sharon, all of Fayetteville. The couple has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
