The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kieth Andersen of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of Irene Letendre of Ludlow, Mass., and Mr. and Mrs. Bernhardt Andersen of Albert Lea, Minn.

The bridegroom’s parents are Jeremiah O’Berry II of Newport News, Va., and Karen Lynch of Chattanooga, Tenn. The bridegroom is the grandson of Jeremiah O’Berry Sr. of Fort McKoy, Fla.; Nola Shrimplin of Nashville, Tenn.; and Mr. and Mrs. William Lynch of Redbank, Tenn. He is the great-grandson of Goldie Tomlonson of Tampa, Fla.

The bride wore an exquisite satin pearl A-line gown with a chapel-length train. Her cathedral-length veil was accented with Swarovski crystals and pearls and was attached to an original Marie Versailles tiara trimmed with miniature porcelain flowers and Swarovski crystals. Her bouquet was a mixture of tulips. roses, freesia, stephanotis and pear accents.

The bride was escorted by her parents. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Rebecca Hasmann of Durham. The bridesmaids were Sherri McCarver of Fayetteville and Beth Andersen of Durham. The flower girl was Curie Lavigne of Fayetteville. The ring bearer was Andrew Burdin of Fayetteville. The infant flower girl was Morgan Hasmann of Durham and the infant ring bearer was Austin Andersen of Durham.

The best man was the brides’s brother, Luke Andersen of Durham. The groomsmen were Jeff Hasmann of Durham and Steve Drummond of Trion, Ga.

The wedding consultant was Tiffany Sessoms. The wedding was directed by Kathy Manor. The wedding musicians were pianist Linda Andrews and oboist Eric Basora.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held after the ceremony at the Belmont House in Fayetteville.

The bride is a graduate of Douglas Byrd Senior High School in Fayetteville. She is currently studying elementary education at Fayetteville State University. She is a veterinary technician at Central Animal Hospital in Fayetteville.

The bridegroom is a U.S. Army Black Hawk crew chief with the 82nd Airborne Division stationed at Fort Bragg.

After a honeymoon trip to Disney World, Fla., the couple will live in Fayetteville.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sharold Buerkle of Belgrade. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Murray Alford Jr. of Lumberton, N.C.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s mother, Melody Buerkle of Belgrade. The bridesmaids were Dawn Kreuz of Livingston, Shannon Hoyt of Bozeman and Stephanie Buerkle of Plevna.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Charles D. Averette of Fayetteville, N.C., Charles C. Berry of Latta, S.C., and Michael V. Buerkle of Belgrade.

The bride is a graduate of Belgrade High School. She is a U.S. Army recruiter in Bozeman.

The groom is a graduate of Lumberton Senior High School in Lumberton, N.C., and Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, N.C. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is currently attending Montana State University in Bozeman. He is an officer cadet with the U.S. Army at Montana State University.

After a honeymoon trip to Edmonton, Canada, the couple settled in Belgrade.

The bridesmaids were Jackie Hunt Kohler and Erin Rowe, both of Raleigh; Donna Dees of Fayetteville; Michelle Knoch of Youngsville; and Brooke Nash of Asheville. The junior bridesmaid was Addison Fisher of Fayetteville. The flower girl was Cayley Fisher of Fayetteville. The ring bearer was Nolan Myers of Garner.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Bryan Crabtree of Fayetteville, Timothy Herman of Garner, Jason Lemons of Raleigh, Mick Crawford of Greenville and Jeff Williams of Wilmington. The junior groomsman was Taylor Locklear of Fayetteville.

The bride is a graduate of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville and Peace College in Raleigh.

The groom is a graduate of Garner High School. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the logistic manager with H&W Trucking in Huntington, W.V.

After a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will live in Huntington, W.V.

The bride is in the U.S. Navy and the groom is the U.S. Air Force.

After a wedding trip to Iceland, the couple settled in Iceland.

Mr. & Mrs. Johnson

Mae Kirkendoll Johnson and Ford Johnson Jr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on February 16, 2002, with a reaffirmation of their vows and dinner at the Seabrook Recreation Center in Fayetteville.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were married icon on February 17, 1952, in Shreveport, La.

They have two children, Robert Johnson and spouse Janet of San Diego, Calif., and Susan Evans and spouse Harold of Raleigh. They have five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

For the 50th celebration, relatives traveled to Fayetteville from Louisiana, California, Arizona, Virginia, Illinois, Texas, Nevada and all parts of North Carolina.

Assisting with the event were the couple’s granddaughters, Greta Dickson, Zabrena Johnson and Tammie Jones, all of San Diego, Calif., and Karen Johnson and Latoya Johnson, both of Raleigh; their great-granddaughters, Kristen Tanner of Raleigh and Brittany Davis of San Diego, Calif.; and their niece, Ruth Ross of Fort Worth, Texas.

The ceremony musicians were Robert Roberts, Lagray Hines Spencer and soloist Barbara Feemster. Also assisting with the event were the mistress of ceremonies, Gretta Dickson; cake tenders Mr. and Mrs. Earl Westmoreland; invitations and photography, Rose Johnson; wedding directors Tywana Townsend and Debra Johnson; wedding program, Tywana Townsend; floral arrangements, Margaret Hobbs and Gloria Billingslea; hair stylists Alene Fergusen and Darlene Johnson; and hostesses, Darlene Johnson, Christina Gutierrez, Anna Monroe, Barbara Waldon and Mia Burges.

Mrs. Johnson is a retired self-employed seamstress. Mr. Johnson is a retired sergeant major with the U.S. Army Special Forces.

Mr. & Mrs. Culp

Betty Scott Culp and James Oliver Culp of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 16, 2002, with a family dinner at Garcia’s Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mr. and Mrs. Culp were married icon on February 16, 1952, in Kissimmee, Fla.

They have four children, William Scott Culp and Sandra Culp Hand, both of Little River, S.C.; James Thomas Culp of Roseboro; and Janice Culp Gray of Fayetteville. The couple has three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
