Caroline Guy Alligood of Fayetteville and Jason Alan Dosher of Wilmington were married icon at 5 p.m. on January 26, 2002, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. William M. Brock officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richard Alligood of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neill Pittman Guy of Fayetteville and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Braddy Alligood Sr. of Fayetteville.

The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Dean Dosher of Supply. He is the grandson of Christine Dosher of Supply, the late Robert Edwin Dosher and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey F. Lewis of Supply.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Margaret Blair Alligood of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Meg Holden of Charlotte; Caroline Blue and Kami Jones, both of Wilmington; Lane Stevenson of Charleston, S.C.; Sarah Hughes of Orono, Maine; Jessica Dosher of Supply; and Katie Keith of Hickory.

The best man was the groom’s brother, Craig Dosher of Gainesville, Fla. The groomsmen were Eric Herndon of Wilmington; Stevie Lancaster, Chris Lee, Robert Faircloth and Cane Faircloth, all of Supply; Derek Gibson of Durham; and Zack Hicks of Columbus, Ohio.

The wedding was directed by Mrs. Brownie Dickson Schaefer and Mrs. C. Wallace Jackson. The wedding musicians were organist Patrick O’Briant; soloist Betty Neill Parsons, trumpeter Creighton Flowers, tympanist Tom Brown and bagpiper Robert Palmer.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at Gates Four Country Club after the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville. She received her bachelor’s degree in child development and family relations and a licensure in birth through kindergarten education from East Carolina University in Greenville.

The bridegroom is a graduate of West Brunswick High School in Shallotte. He received his bachelor’s degree in recreational management from Appalachian State University in Boone. He is currently a graduate student at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and is employed by the recreation division of the City of Wilmington.

After a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas, the couple will live in Wilmington.

Elisabeth W. Gambill &
Gene J. Niksich

KANAB, Utah. Elisabeth W. Gambill and Gene J. Niksich, both of Atlanta, were married icon at 1 p.m. on January 25, 2002, at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary with Judge Gary Johnson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Luther Gambill of Fayetteville and the late Mr. Gambill. The groom's parents are Mrs. Kate Niksich of Chicago and the late Mike Niksich.

The bride received her associate's degree from Peace College in Raleigh and her bachelor's degree in business administration from Chadwick University in Birmingham, Ala. She also received her ABA paralegal degree from the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta. The bride was presented by the Cape Fear Assembly and the Terpsichorean Club in Raleigh. She is currently a homemaker.

The groom was an honor graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago where he received his bachelor's degree in industrial design. He received his master's degree in business administration from the University of Illinois at Champaign, Ill.

The couple plans to live in Atlanta.

Michael Tod Reid

VASS — Jennifer Ashley Taylor of Woodlake in Vass and Michael Tod Reid of Little River, S.C., were married icon on December 15, 2001, at the historic Cypress Presbyterian Church with the the Rev. Richard Rodda officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Taylor of Woodlake. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ishmael McDonald of Bunnlevel and the late MaryAnn Clement Taylor of Beaufort, S.C. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael Reid of Little River, S.C.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was Jenny Allenbaugh of Chapel Hill. The bridesmaids were Valerie Lynch and Mollie Bardales, both of Greensboro, and Julie Hendricks of Holly Springs. The flower girl was Savannah Taylor of Mocksville.

The best man was Eddie Bush of Charleston, S.C. The groomsmen were Elliott Taylor of Woodlake and Bryn Wilson and Jason Austin, both of Charleston, S.C., and members of the Eddie Bush Group.

The bride received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Appalachian State University in Boone.

The groom is a member of the Eddie Bush Musical Group of Charleston, S.C., and the owner of Reid Sign Co. in Conway, S.C.

Mr. & Mrs. Duke

Betty Rose Walters Duke and Bobbie E. Duke of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 8, 2001, with a renewal of their vows and a reception with family and friends at Windtree Clubhouse in Fayetteville. Mr. and Mrs. Duke were married icon on December 11, 1951, at the Salvation Army Quarters in Fayetteville. They have two children, Annette Wheeler and spouse Tommy, and Carolyn White and spouse David, all of Fayetteville. The couple has four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mitchell Leana Ray and Curtis Ray of Fayetteville celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at a dinner party on January 20, 2002. Mr. and Mrs. Ray were married icon on January 21, 1972, in Dillon, S.C. They have two children, Kimberly Ray of Fayetteville and Angela Ray of Durham. The couple has one grandchild.
