on December 19, 1951 at Jackson Grove Church in Sampson County. They have five children, Louise Travis and David McIntyre, both of Fayetteville; Rosco McIntyre of Jonesboro, Ga.; Carolyn McLean of Greenville, S.C.; and Irita Monroe of Greenville, N.C. The couple has 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

at 11:30 a.m. on November 9, 2001, at the Sandals Resort and Spa. A formal Caribbean reception was held at 3 p.m. on November 24, 2001, at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson A. Lacy of Fayetteville, N.C. She is the granddaughter of Annie J. Lacy of Bladenboro, N.C., the late Benjamin “B.J.” Lacy Jr. and Lessie Coston of Lisbon, N.C.
The bridegroom’s parents are Brenda McDonald McQuitty of Fayetteville, N.C., and Carl Robert McQuitty Sr. of Fayette, Mo. The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mary McDonald Davis.
The bride wore a hand-beaded white gown designed by Demetrios. The satin gown, which criss-crossed in the back, was a sleeveless sheath design accented with pearls, Alencon lace and eyelet patterns on the detachable cathedral-length train. The pearls, lace and sequins began at the front of the gown’s neckline. The back and bottom of the gown were accented with pearls, lace and sequins. The bride’s headpiece was a tiara design highlighted with Alencon lace and cultured pearls. A chiffon veil accented and trimmed in miniature pearls was attached to the crown. During the wedding ceremony in Jamaica, the bride carried a cascade bouquet of fresh miniature lilac orchids, white carnations and baby’s breath. At the wedding reception in Fayetteville, N.C., the bride carried a fresh bouquet of white Calla lilies and green ivy.
During the wedding ceremony in Negril, the groom wore a white linen suit designed by Rodelli Uomo New York. At the wedding reception in Fayetteville, N.C., the groom wore a Chaps Ralph Lauren four-button black tuxedo with notched lapels, white vest and a white ascot tie. His lapel was decorated with a fresh white orchid boutonniere.
The maids of honor were the bride’s cousin Patrice Lacy of Seattle, Wash., and the groom’s sister, Michelle McDonald of Norfolk, Va. The matron of honor was the bride’s twin sister, Cleopatrice L. Robinson of Raleigh, N.C. The honor attendants wore navy and platinum satin two-piece gowns designed by Alfred Angelo and carried two long-stem silk Calla lilies.
The bridesmaids were Tinisha Miles of Fayetteville, N.C.; Tiffanie Walters of Raleigh, N.C.; Shaune Walters of Durham, N.C.; Diesha Green of Carrboro; Lia Shorter, Melanie Shorter and Odetta Locks, all of Greenville; and Deanna Rutherford of Connecticut. The attendants wore burgundy satin two-piece gowns designed by Alfred Angelo and carried one long-stem silk Calla lily.
The junior bridesmaid was Briana Hollingsworth of Fayetteville, N.C. The flower girls were Alexis Cox of Bladenboro, N.C., and KaRonne McNeill of Winston-Salem, N.C. The ring bearer was Justin McQuitty of Philadelphia.
The best man was the groom’s brother, Carlos McQuitty of Missouri. The groomsmen were Anquell McCullom, Dammion Wright, Marqui Gerald, Shawn Conyers, and Dewann McCullom, all of Fayetteville, N.C.; DeYone Robinson and Hein Hall, both of Raleigh, N.C.; Keith Flood of Greensboro, N.C.; and Patrick Lacy of Georgia. The ushers were Marquise McDonald of Raeford, N.C.; Eddie Locks of Maryland; Frederick Locks of Greenville, N.C.; and Larry McDonald II of Mebane, N.C.
The hostesses were Marietta Bethea of Bladenboro, N.C.; Olivia McDonald of Mebane, N.C.; and Latrice Robinson of Fayetteville, N.C.
A program of Caribbean and traditional wedding music was provided during the ceremony in Negril and the reception in Fayetteville, N.C.
The reception was hosted by the bride’s parents and directed by Bonita Walters. Cleopatrice L. Robinson served as mistress of ceremonies. The decor selected for the reception consisted of brightly colored Caribbean flowers that included orchids, roses, bamboo, palm trees and other native tropical flora. Table centerpieces consisted of pink conch shells and sand dollar arrangements accented with tropical fish. Guests enjoyed a festive Caribbean buffet served in platters embellished with gaily patterned fish designs.
A wedding rehearsal dinner was held on November 23, 2001, at the Morganton Place Clubhouse in Fayetteville, N.C. At this time, gifts for the bridesmaids and hostesses were presented by the bride.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree in speech from the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C. She earned a master’s degree in speech language pathology from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Conn. She is pursuing her doctorate degree in speech language pathology at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The bride is a speech language pathologist with Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, N.C., and a contracting speech language pathologist with Lee County, N.C.
The bridegroom attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C. He is a sales and leasing consultant/secondary finance manager with Rice-Marko Chrysler Plymouth in Greensboro, N.C.
After a honeymoon at the Sandals Resort and Spa, the couple settled in Sanford, N.C.
