April 24 at Snipes Farm in Chapel Hill. Magistrate John Stokes officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tompkins of Chapel Hill. She is an ESL teacher at North Chatham School.
The groom is the son of Maria de Jesus Jaime and Guillermo Rangel of La Laja, Mexico. He is the kitchen manager at Bandidos restaurant in Carrboro.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Bridesmaids were Stacey Tompkins of Chapel Hill (the bride’s sister) and Missy Byrd of Baton Rouge, La.
Best man was Javier Rios of Chapel Hill.
Ring bearer was Jose Javier Rios of Chapel Hill.
Following a wedding trip to Blowing Rock, the couple lives in Carrboro.

The bride-elect graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers in Atlanta, Ga.
The groom-elect graduated from Duke University and is employed by Ernst & Young in Atlanta.
A wedding is planned for October at the Doris Duke Center in the Duke Gardens.

Kimberly Lynn Lagemann and Samuel Joseph Laurent were married
Saturday at the Chapel of the Cross. The Rev. Stephen R. Stanley and the Rev. Richard B. Smith officiated at the ceremony.
The bride received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a pediatric intensive care unit nurse at UNC Hospitals.
The groom received a bachelor’s degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and is a program specialist at Threshold of Durham.
Maid of honor was Barbara Lagemann of Chapel Hill (bride’s sister). Mary Laurent of Greensboro (groom’s sister) was the bridesmaid.
Best man was Carl J. Laurent of Greensboro (groom’s father). Eric D. Laurent of Greensboro (groom’s brother) was the groomsman.
A reception hosted by Joicey Hurth (the bride’s mother) was held at Snipes Farm Retreat.
Following a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will live in Chapel Hill.

Joanne and Kenneth Wilson of Chapel Hill announce the engagement of their daughter Nora Marion Wilson to Paul Anthony Raoul Morales Dennis, son of Evelyn Morales of High Point and Robert and MaryAnn Dennis of Hampstead.
The bride-elect also is the granddaughter of Marion and John Wilson of Chapel Hill. She attended Durham Academy and is a graduate of N.C. School of Science and Mathematics and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a health-center assistant at Planned Parenthood in Asheville.
The groom-elect graduated from N.C. School of Science and Mathematics and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a wilderness instructor at the School of Urban Wilderness Survival of the Carolinas and an intern at the Puckett Institute in Asheville.
The wedding is planned for May 7 at Spruce Pine Lodge in Bahama.

at 11:30 a.m. July 10, 2004 at United Church of Chapel Hill. The Revs. Richard and Jill Edens officiated in the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Tye and Wanda Hunter of Chapel Hill. She graduated from Chapel Hill High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is editor of the Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health Reports.
The groom is the son of Duffy Gilligan of Chapel Hill and Sandra Brooks-Mathers and Mike Mathers of Chapel Hill. He graduated from Carolina Friends School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont. He is a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Matron of honor was Erin Jolley Burgess of Chapel Hill. Bridesmaids were Amanda Bechtel of Arlington, Va.; Kimberly Priore of Natick, Mass.; and Melissa Walker of Brooklyn, N.Y.
Best man was Sol Oster-Katz of Durham. Groomsmen were Joseph Fitzsimons, Christopher Magher and Michael Strauss, all of Durham.
A reception hosted by Tye and Wanda Hunter followed, at the Carolina Club at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the UNC campus.
A wedding trip to Maui and Kauai was planned.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Judy Warren of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School and Wake Forest University. She works at the Duke University Center for Nicotine and Tobacco Research.
The groom is the son of Charles and Mary Lynn Barnett of Huntington, W. Va. He graduated from Marshall University and is a design engineer at Schunk, Inc. in Research Triangle Park.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Bridesmaids were Samantha Ertenberg of Denver, Colo.; Jennifer Iwanicki of New York City; and Cameron Williard of Charleston, S.C. Flower girl was Laura Caroline Bream of Chapel Hill.

Vernon Rudolph and Helen Worley of Chapel Hill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month with their three children and a close group of friends who surprised them with a party at Occoneechee Steak House.
Rudolph and Helen were married
Aug. 20, 1954, after meeting as teenagers in Johnston County. They have lived in Chapel Hill since the early 1960s.
