She received her doctorate of dental surgery at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Dental Medicine. She is completing her residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Florida in Gainesville.
The groom is a graduate of Douglas Byrd High School and the University of North Carolina at Greenboro. He received his masters of education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He is employed as Associate Director of Enrollment Services at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Fla.
After a honeymoon trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple plans to live in Gainesville, Fla.
