She is an assistant professor at Emory University.

The groom-elect received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. He is a computer programmer.

A wedding is planned for 4:30 p.m. June 19, 2004, at Chota Falls in Clayton, Ga.

Lawrence Franklin Altaffer III of Syria, Va., and Mrs. Tayloe Altaffer of Warsaw, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Anne Carrington Altaffer to Brian Krusa Asplin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Asplin of Chapel Hill. The bride-elect received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana. She is employed at Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill as the publications assistant and administrative assistant for Campus Ministry. She also runs Plus 1 Designs, a graphic design company.

The groom-elect received a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Virginia. He is presently running the distribution department at Homegrown Music Network and is president of Harmonized Records record label.

An October 2004 wedding is planned.

Christa Jo Copeland and Eric Thomas Johnson were married icon in an oceanside wedding at Casa Ybel Resort, Sanibel Island, on May 15. The Rev. Paul Ransford of Chapel Hill officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Copeland of Chapel Hill. She received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and is a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. She completed graduate work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a partner and speech pathologist at Speech Solutions in Sugar Land, Texas.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Johnson of Houston. He is a graduate of Colorado State University. He received a master’s degree in business from the University of Houston and is an accounting manager at Enron.

Maid of honor was Elizabeth Ann Epler of Houston. The junior attendant was Adriana Johnson of Houston (niece of the bride). The flower girls were Emily Mason Copeland (niece of the bride) and Ryon Elizabeth Mefford (niece of the groom), both of Houston.

Best man was David Wayne Koenig of Richmond, Texas. The ring bearers were Benton Wilson Copeland of Chapel Hill (nephew of the bride) and Luc Thomas Mefford of Houston, Texas.

A dinner reception followed in the Gazebo Room at Casa Ybel.

Following a honeymoon in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, the couple will make their home in Houston, Texas.

The groom is the son of Dian Jarvis of Clayton and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Eugene Ackerman of Bahama. He graduated from ASU and is a vice president with Bank of America.

Maid of honor was Caroline Wall, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Stefanie Conrad, Donna Maciejewski, Darby Abbott, Cindy Paliouras, Beth Childs, and Julie Hiatt.

Best man was the father of the groom.

Groomsmen were Chris Ackerman, Hak Ung, Will Vick, Mark Woollen and Jeff Thornburg.

A reception followed at the Mint Museum of Art.

A wedding trip to Petit St. Vincent in the Grenadines was planned.

The couple will reside in Charlotte.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother, Sharon McCray.

Matron of Honor was Karen Middler of California.

Best man was Scott Tucker, formerly of Chapel Hill.

Following a wedding trip to Tahiti, South Pacific, the couple lives in Santa Clara, Calif.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, John Norris Daves of Boiling Springs.

Maid of honor was Tabitha Kay Logan of Chapel Hill. Bridesmaids were Amy Elizabeth Giles of Durham, Laurie Ann Pitula of Raleigh and Mary Katherine Greganti of Morehead City (sister of the bride).

Best man was Michael Glenn Shelby. Groomsmen were John Charles Clark of Winston-Salem, Christopher Lee James of Whittier and Paul Andrew Greganti of Chapel Hill (brother of the groom).

A reception was held at the Carolina Inn following the ceremony.

A wedding trip to the Bahamas was planned.

The couple will live in Chapel Hill.

The groom graduated from the University of the South. He is a residential real estate agent with Village Real Estate Services in Nashville, Tenn.

Maid of honor was Sarah Rochelle Greene of Williamsburg, Va. (sister of the bride). Bridesmaids were Robyn Lynn Stewart of Chapel Hill; Sarah Virginia Taylor Lodge of Washington, D.C.; and Hayley Kathleen Trakas, Susan Ashley Ore, Megan Elizabeth Greene and Katherine Anne Bauer, all of Arlington, Va. Flower girls were Young Louise Goodyear and Taylor Virginia Stone of New Orleans and Lauren Alexandra Holtzclaw and Emma Moyer Holtzclaw of Savannah, Ga.

Best man was William Wortham Groome of New York. Groomsmen were Matthew Hudson Wright of Arlington, Va.; Craig Roth Webb of New Orleans, La.; Howard Deane Smith of Woodbridge, Va.; Ethan Reed Brinkman-Hansen of Philadelphia, Pa.; and Rondal Keith Richardson, John Hays Green and Scott Bartlett Hall, all of Nashville, Tenn.

A dinner reception hosted by the parents of the bride followed the ceremony at the Carolina Club.

A wedding trip to Jamaica was planned.

The couple will live in Nashville.
