The bride is the daughter of Chester R. Chavis Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., and the late Sigrid Chavis. The groom’s parents are the late Dale Meredith and Hersey J. Meredith of Fayetteville, N.C.
The bride was escorted by her father. The flower girl was the bride’s sister, Sa’Kaile Chavis.
The bride is a graduate of Bitburg American High School in Bitburg, Germany, Sir Walter Beauty Academy and Fayetteville Technical Community College, both in Fayetteville, N.C. She is a self-employed stylist with Frederick’s Hair Design in Fayetteville, N.C.
The groom is a graduate of East Wake High School in Raleigh. He is in utility field services with the Public Works Commission in Fayetteville, N.C.
After a honeymoon cruise to the Cayman Islands and Cacun, the couple will live in Hope Mills, N.C.

at 2 p.m. on August 18, 2001, at The Meeting House in Heritage Village. Justice of the Peace Mary Rose Tobin officiated.
The bride is the daughter of the late Barbara J. Souppa and the late Leonard H. LeBlanc. The groom’s parents are Mary L. White of Southbury and the late Allwyn White.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Gary LeBlanc of Winston-Salem, N.C. The maid of honor was the bride’s niece, Dana LeBlanc of Winston-Salem, N.C.
The best man was the groom’s brother, Kevin White of Brookfield.
The bride received her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. She is currently a graduate student in industrial design at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C.
The groom received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Fordham University in New York City, N.Y. He is a U.S. Army retired lieutenant colonel.
The couple settled in Fayetteville.

The bride is the daughter of Ray Kline of Diamond, Ohio, and the late Jane Kline. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Philbrook of Saco, Maine.
The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Nancy Dutko of Diamond, Ohio. The child attendants were the bride’s and the groom’s children, Amelia and Meredith Philbrook and Cody and Zachary Lutes, all of Fayetteville. The best man was the groom’s friend, Leslie Corridon of Hampton, Va.
The bride received her master’s degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. and her neonatal nurse practitioner certification from Georgetown University Hospital. She is a neonatal nurse practitioner with Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The groom is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. He received master’s degrees from the University of Rhode Island at Kingston and Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. He is retired from the U.S. Army.
The couple settled in Fayetteville.

Mable L. and John T. Council of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 29, 2001, with family and friends at the Gray’s Creek Community Building. Mr. and Mrs. Council were married
on September 30, 1951, in Dillon, S.C. They have five children, Johnnie Council, Samuel Council and Faye Council, all of Fayetteville; Herbert Council of Cary; and Ray Council of Charlotte. They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The bride wore a white floor-length gown that featured a halter-style neckline and silk streamers which cascaded down the back. The dress had a satin underskirt with a sheer, polyester overlay. The bride carried a red rose bouquet.
A reception, hosted by the bride’s mother, was held on September 23, 2001, at Judson Baptist Church in Fayetteville, N.C.
The bride is a graduate of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville, N.C., and East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. She is employed with Belk in the Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville, N.C.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, N.C. He is employed with the City of Fayetteville, N.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James S. Grant of Fayetteville, N.C. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Lee Parks of Chesterfield.
The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Helen Grant of Raleigh, N.C. The bridesmaids were Sara Alligood and Tanya Cauthorne, both of Richmond, and Suzanne Branch and Melinda Lane, both of Raleigh, N.C. The flower girl was Camden Parks of Richmond. The ring bearer was Turner Parks of Richmond.
The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Kelly Hall of Sarasota, Fla.; Franklin Emerson and Byron Triplett, both of Chester; and Todd Sulc of Mechanicsville.
The bride received her bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. She is in sales with Verizon in Richmond.
The groom received his bachelor’s degree in economics with applied mathematics from Hampden-Sydney College. He received his master’s of business administration from the University of Richmond. He is an operations analyst with Capital One Financial in Glen Allen.
