The best men were the groom’s brother, Daniel F. Ashton of Charlotte and the groom’s father, Lawrence J. Ashton Sr. The groomsmen were Rod B. Howard of Charlotte and Kevin P. Ashton of Fayetteville. The ushers were Eric T. Ward of Charlotte and Tracy E. Armstrong of Rock Hill, S.C.

The bride is a graduate of Davie High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a trust tax analyst II with First Union National Bank in Charlotte.

The groom is a graduate of Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville. He served with the U.S. Navy for four years and is currently a warehouse supervisor with Mutual Distribution.

After a honeymoon trip to Ormond Beach, Fla., the couple will live in Charlotte.

The best man was the groom’s friend, Jimmie Surles of Hope Mills. The groomsman was the bride’s son, Robert Beatty Jr. of Fayetteville.

The bride is a graduate of South View Senior High School in Hope Mills. She is a quality control inspector with Burkhead-Devane Printing Co. in Fayetteville.
