The groom is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville. He received his bachelor’s degree from N.C. State University in Raleigh and his medical doctorate degree from East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville. He is a child psychiatry resident with Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
After a honeymoom trip to Florida, the couple will live in Greenville.

Mr. and Mrs. Edison Ford Fowler of Fayetteville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 20, 2001, with family and friends at the Hope Mills Shrine Club.
Mr. and Mrs. Fowler were married
on May 31, 1951, in Conway, S.C. They have two children, Greg Fowler of Hope Mills and Wyatt Fowler of Charlotte; and six grandchildren. Their children will host the reception.
Mrs. Fowler retired from Sears in Fayetteville. Mr. Fowler first retired from the U.S. Air Force and then from a career in real estate.

Mary Ann Edwards and Mennon Obed Wright of Bladenboro celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary at their home on May 13, 2001.
Mr. and Mrs. Wright were married
on May 13, 1933. They have six children, Obie M. Wright, Phenie A. Watterson, Mary L. Pidgeon, Manley Wright, Bobby Wright and Lizzie M. Holley, all of Bladenboro; a sister, Joyce Wright Shaw of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Wright retired from Bladenboro Cotton Mills in 1976.
Their children and families wanted the Wrights to know that they love them and wish them a happy anniversary.
