Chance — Rumbaugh
LA JOLLA, CALIF. — Tami Louise Chance of La Jolla and Craig Carleton Rumbaugh of San Diego were married
on June 10 at La Jolla Presbyterian Church.
The bride is the daughter of W. Major and Judy Chance of La Jolla. The groom’s parents are Paul and Linda Rumbaugh of North Carolina.
The bride wore a lightly embroidered satin gown with a full, ballroom princess skirt that flowed behind her in layers under a graceful cathedral veil. Her two-tiered headband was decorated with mother-of-pearls and rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis accented with pearls and rhinestones.
Friends and family from around the world flew in to enjoy a week of festivities. The bridal party, 20 in all, danced the night away at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina to the tunes of the Wayne Foster Orchestra.
The bride is a graduate of UCLA. She is a personal trainer in La Jolla.
The groom is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. He is a project manager in San Diego.
After a honeymoon in Napa Valley, the couple will live in San Diego.

SANTA FE, N.M. — Kelly DeMalio and Charles Edward Leal, both of Jupiter, Fla., were married
at 11 a.m. on May 27 at Loretto Chapel.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter DeMalio of Warren, Ohio. The groom’s parents are Margaret Leal of Fayetteville and the late Command Sgt. Maj. Carlos E. Leal Jr. The couple plans to live in Jupiter, Fla.
Edwards — Gorman
Tracy Lynn Edwards and David Alan Gorman, both of Fayetteville, were married
at 4 p.m. on November 18 at Salem United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Louise Hilbert and the Rev. Jay Winston officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Clyde Edwards of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Janice D. Washington of Fayetteville and David N. Gorman of San Antonio, Texas. He is the stepson of Janne Gorman of San Antonio.
The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Virginia Ann Pirrello. The bridesmaids were Heidi Palikan of Huntington Beach, Calif.; and Tonya Allen, Gena Dumas and Lisa Washburn, all of Fayetteville.
The best man was the groom’s friend, Randy Steffen of Fayetteville. The groomsmen were Craig Allen and Charles Dumas, both of Fayetteville; James McCoy of St. Pauls; and J. Michael Palikan of Huntington Beach.
The bride is a graduate of Cape Fear Senior High School in Fayetteville and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is employed as a teacher with the Cumberland County Schools.
The groom is a graduate of Douglas Byrd Senior High School in Fayette-ville and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He also is employed as a teacher with the Cumberland County Schools.
The couple plans to live in Fayetteville.
Gibbs — Crawford
PASADENA, CALIF. — Hope Gibbs of Fayetteville, N.C., and Adam Ryan Crawford of Glendale were married
at 11 a.m. on September 2 at Church of the Angels. The Rev. Robert J. Gaestel officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Helen Gibbs of Fayetteville and the late Domingo Cervantes. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Gibbs. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack A. Crawford of Glendale. He is the grandson of Jeanette Crawford of Petaluma.
The bride wore an ivory gown with a halter, V-neck crepe bodice, an open back with straps and a modified basque waist. The dress was highlighted by rhinestone-centered, handmade silk flowers on the back waist and an ivory tulle skirt with a sweep train. The gown was designed by Bill Pesce of Jim Hjelm Visions Collection of New York. She carried a bouquet of white roses, cream-on-cream roses and blush pink roses. Her veil featured several layers of long ivory tulle.
The bride was escorted by her mother. The bride’s cousin, Veronica Ritchie of Albuquerque, N.M., served as the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Deanne Pfannenstein of Atlanta and Diana Gonzalez of Los Angeles.
The best man was the groom’s brother, Wade Allen Crawford of Glendale. The groomsmen were Ferrdie Tolentino of Napa Valley and Victor Adame of Sylmar.
The wedding was directed by Lela Bissner. The wedding musicians were Rebekah Raff who played the harp and George Hall who played the bagpipes.
A reception, hosted by the bride’s mother, was held at The Castaway after the ceremony.
The bride is a beauty consultant with Victoria Secret in Glendale.
The groom is a correctional officer with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in San Pedro.
The couple will live in Burbank.
Wall — Rivers
Stephanie Denise Wall and Jeffery David Rivers, both of Fayetteville, were married

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wall of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rivers, also of Fayetteville.

Mr. & Mrs. Harmon Kivett
Harmon and Rebecca Kivett celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 29 with a sit-down dinner for 115 friends and family at the Radisson Prince Charles Hotel Terrace Ballroom in Fayetteville.
Mr. and Mrs. Kivett were married
on November 3, 1950, in Chesterfield, S.C. They have four children, Martha K. Cannon, Ida K. Martin, Sharon Parsek and Phyllis Howard; and seven grandchildren.
Hosts for the reception were Ida K. Martin, John Martin and Gabriel Martin, all of Kingstree, S.C.; and Martha K. Cannon, Keith Cannon, Nicklaus Cannon and Haley Cannon, all of Hickory. The couple also will celebrate with a family cruise to the British Islands and Mexico.
Mrs. Kivett is a retired medical assistant with the office of Dr. Lynn Johnsen in Fayetteville. Mr. Kivett is retired from the N.C. Department of Community Colleges in Raleigh.

at 4 p.m. on November 25 at MacPherson Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Dr. James Welch Jr. officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hodges of Dunn and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Littleton of Lumberton. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millus Hodges of Dunn and the late Mr. and Mrs. William C. Stuart Jr.
The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heasley of Brockway, Penn. The bridegroom is the grandson of Maudy Medina of Sandia, Texas, the late Antonio Medina and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heasley.
The bride wore an ivory, satin long-sleeved gown. The gown featured an empire waist, sweetheart neckline and a bodice of antique lace accented with beads and sequins. The chapel-length train was designed with antique lace and beaded trim. Her fingertip veil was accented with a beaded headband. The bride carried a formal European cascade bouquet featuring dendrobium, orchids, teneke bridal roses and stephanotis which was centered with her grandmother’s wedding ring.
She was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s aunt, Bonita Jelenevsky of Dunn. The maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Ashley McAdams of Conover. The bridesmaids were Karen Johnson of Zebulon and Elizabeth Heasley of Brockway, Penn. The flower girl was Julianne Heasley of Brockway. The ringbearer was Tyler Garner of Clayton.
The best man was the groom’s friend, Ken Kiehlmeier of DuBois, Penn. The groomsmen were Monte Long of Kernersville, Darren Stuart of Raleigh and Vincent Tammarine of Fayetteville.
The wedding was directed by Joanne Bunce. The wedding musicians were organist Alice Ann Moore and vocalist Jill Littleton Tart.
A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held after the ceremony at the De Lafayette Restaurant in Fayetteville.
The bride is a graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She is a pharmaceutical sales representative with Ventiv Health Inc. in the Fayetteville area.
The bridegroom attended Penn State University in DuBois. He is the branch manager of the Spring Lake office of Advance America.
After a honeymoon trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will live in Hope Mills.

Mr. and Mrs. Neil Foster Downing Jr. of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 4 at a buffet dinner in Cedar Creek. Red and Rose Downing were married
on November 4, 1950, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Fayetteville. They have three children, Richard Neil Downing, Larry Wayne Downing and John Foster Downing, all of Fayetteville; and seven grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. O.F. “Buddy” Dowd of White Oak celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 29 at the Barn restaurant in Fayetteville.
Buddy and Dainese Dowd were married
on September 21, 1950, in Dillon, S.C. They have four children, Treva D. Towne of Charleston, S.C., and Judy D. Strickland, W. Keith Dowd and Tracy D. Dowd, all of White Oak. Mr. and Mrs. Dowd also have nine grandchildren.
