The bride is the daughter of James and Virginia Mergner of Chapel Hill and the granddaughter of Virginia Bussey, also of Chapel Hill. A 1991 graduate of Chapel Hill High School, she received a bachelor's degree in child development and family relations from East Carolina University in 1995. She was a member of Delta Zeta sorority and is a real estate agent with Real Estate Marketing and Consulting.

The groom is the son of Jimmy and Shelby Mizelle of Washington, N.C. He received a bachelor's degree from East Carolina University and is a purchasing manager with Fred Smith Homes Inc.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Pamela Ballog Paxton of Wilmington.

Bridesmaids were Paige Lucas of Charleston, S.C., Suzanne Stacey of Greensboro, Stormy Ritchie of Lillington, Monica Song of Baltimore, Md., and Tangela Wyke of Raleigh.

Flower girl was niece of the groom, Hayley Mizelle of Washington.

Best man was Jimmy Raven Mizelle of Washington.

Groomsmen were Garyn Mizelle and Joel Mizelle of Washington and Randall Mizellee of Orlando, all brothers of the groom; Joseph Lamm of Knightdale, James Perry III of Dunn and Reed Potts of Greenville.

Ring bearer was Bryan Rubin of Chapel Hill.

A reception and dance were held after the ceremony at the Carolina Club on the UNC campus.

The couple planned a wedding trip to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico.

The couple will reside in Raleigh.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Stanley Mann and Evelyn Jones Mann of Raleigh. She received a bachelor's degree in horticulture science from N.C. State University and is the owner of The Cultivator, an herb farm in Clayton.

The groom is the son of Richard Michael Pipkin and Barbara Dearman Pipkin of Chapel Hill. He received bachelor's degrees in economics and in finance from Appalachian State University. He is a certified funds specialist with Principal Financial Group in Raleigh.

Matron of honor was Angela Jones Wilson of Raleigh, aunt of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kathryn Pipkin McKinney of Winston-Salem, sister of the groom; Sandra James of Raleigh and Valarie Wyatt of Gastonia. Shannon Brown Bailey of Apex, a friend of the bride and groom, served as lady-in-waiting.

Best man was the groom's father. Groomsmen were Samuel Greene of Morrisville, Grover Gore of Winston-Salem, Michael Germino of Durham, Mark Shannon of Raleigh, Benjamin Bailey of Apex, Charles Ashley Mann of Morrisville and Jason Eugene Mann of Roanoke, Va.

A reception was held in the Windy Oaks Inn gardens following the ceremony.

After a honeymoon on the Island of St. Lucia, the couple resides in Clayton.

The bride was given in marriage by her father in a double-ring ceremony.

Maid of honor was Signe Marie Boucher of Chapel Hill.

Best man was Timothy C. DeGavre of Seattle.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception at the Sonnanalp Hotel at Vail.

A wedding trip to Costa Rica is planned.

The couple resides in Hyde Park, Chicago.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Maid of honor was Laura Dennison Briley, sister of the bride, of Greenville. Bridesmaids were Anne Catherine Murray, sister of the groom, of Augusta, Ga.; Mary Ward Christian of Maitland, Fla.; Peggy Partovi of Atlanta, Ga.; Sarah Lang Marconi and Jill Fries McLaughlin of Charlotte; Caitlin Lorinovich Current of Greenville, S.C.; and Jennifer Bernau Huckel of Madison, Wisc.

Best man was the father of the groom. Groomsmen were Jon Britain Christian, brother of the groom, of Maitland, Fla.; James Samuel Murray of Augusta, Ga.; David Loren Rosen and Justin Bradley Hauser of Chapel Hill; Cornell Arthur Anderson of Raleigh; Bryan Lee Miller of Charlotte; and James Richard Weiss of Washington.

A wedding trip to Hawaii was planned.

The couple will make their home in Providence, R. I.

He received a master's degree in sports management from Appalachian State University and is a doctoral candidate in sports administration at the University of Northern Colorado in the fall.

Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Hooks Carter of Charlotte; Susan Jacobsen Croom, sister-in-law of the bride, of Raleigh; Jenny Elizabeth Halsey, sister-in-law of the bride, of Sparta; Quinnette Brooke Jones of Durham; Laura Shatley McPhaul of Kernersville; and Megan Williams Stuhlman of Charlottesville, Va. The flower girl was Hunter Ekaterina Walker of Chapel Hill.
