The bride is the daughter of Sandra Edens of Raeford and William Boyles of Fayetteville. She is the stepdaughter of Edgar Edens of Raeford and Karron Boyles of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Ward of Raeford.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Karen Boyles Connor of Lumberton. The bridesmaids were Catherine Ward, Elaine Conkle and Kimberly Gibson, all of Raeford, and Beth Boyles of Southern Pines.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Brian Ward, Justin King and Jason Monroe, all of Raeford, and Robert Chamra of Denver.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She works as a guidance counselor for the Robeson County Schools.

The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He is an environmental technician with the North Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

Patricia Lea Davis and David Gulaitis, both of Englewood, N.J., were married icon at 4 p.m. on August 19 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Martha Honaker officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Davis of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Linda Morone of Old Tappan, N.J., and Joseph Gulaitis of Roselle, Ill.

The couple plans to live in Englewood.

Frahm — Modlin
Cynthia Anne Frahm and Michael Ashley Modlin, both of Fayetteville, were married icon at 5 p.m. on October 14 at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Dr. David Crocker officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Shirley Frahm of Raeford and the late Leonard G. Frahm. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. E.C. “Chip” Modlin of Fayetteville.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Chief Petty Officer Andrew D. Frahm of Chesapeake, Va. The maid of honor was the bride’s niece, Whitney Elizabeth Posey of Raeford. The bridesmaid was Lindsey Tucker Frahm of Raeford. Honorary bridesmaids were Dana Connell of Alexandria, Va.; Mary Beth James of Raeford; and Nancy McNeill and Susan McNeill, both of Wilmington.

The flower girl was the bride’s grandniece, Conoly Caitlin Jones of Boynton Beach, Fla.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsman was Ivan Street of Raeford. Ushers were Les Frahm of Raleigh, John Griffin of Atlanta, Joe Roderick of Cary and James Winters of Rocky Mount.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is a sixth-grade teacher at East Hoke Middle School in Raeford.

The groom is a graduate of UNC-Wilmington. He is a physical education teacher and coach at East Hoke Middle School.

The couple plans to live in Fayetteville.

Green — Cox
Erika Hope Green of St. Pauls and Jeffrey Keith Cox of Greensboro were married icon at 7 p.m. on October 7 at Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. Dr. Bruce O. Martin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marion Green of St. Pauls. She is the granddaughter of Marjorie Ballance of Eastover, the late James E. Ballance and Pearl Quick of St. Pauls.

The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Cox of Summerfield. The bridegroom is the grandson of June Gilreath of Greensboro and the late Herbert Gilreath.

The bride wore a diamond-white silk shantung gown featuring a scoop neckline, low-V back and tip-of-the-shoulder band sleeves. The basque waistline bodice and demi-cathedral train were enhanced with beaded alencon lace appliques. Her double-tiered, finger-tip illusion veil featured scattered seed pearls and a bun wrap of pearls and crystals. She was escorted by her father.

The matron of honor was the bride’s cousin, Denise G. Powell of Suwanee, Ga. The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Natalie A. Green of St. Pauls. The bridesmaids were Hannah Gray of Chapel Hill; Anne Grove and Summer McInvaille, both of Raleigh; Lauren Miller of Guyana, South America; Melissa Ratley and Megan Tetreault, both of Fayetteville; and Heather Walters of Winston-Salem. The junior bridesmaids were Ashley Cox of Summerfield, Amber Schulz of Chesterfield, Va., and Dana Parker of St. Pauls. The flower girls were Grace Ballance and Lauren Ballance, both of Newton Grove. The ring bearer was Brady Powell of Suwanee.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Bruce Bennett and Kevin Kranz, both of Cary; Gene Foster and Chris Gunter, both of Greensboro; James Powell of Suwanee; and Robert Vaughn of Knoxville, Tenn. The junior groomsman was Cameron Powell of Suwanee.

The wedding was directed by Sharon Herndon. The wedding musicians were pianist Beth Walters; vocal soloist Charles Ballance and trumpeter Wiley Hughes. Other musicians were a string quartet by Ann Yeaman, John Crosmun, Daniel Crosmun and Kristen Ballance.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Holiday Inn Cedar Creek Road immediately after the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The bridegroom is a graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is the owner of Millennium Home Builders, LLC.

After a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple will live in Greensboro.

Haigh — Arends
Katherine Haigh of Greensboro and Robert Alan Arends of Whitsett were married icon at 11:30 a.m. on October 7, in a small, family ceremony at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. David Chamberlain officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Haigh Jr. of Fayetteville.

The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. David R. Arends of Clayton.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister Margaret Haigh Sebens of Haines, Ala.

The best man was the groom’s brother, Randy Arends of Virginia Beach, Va. The usher was the bride’s brother, Charles T. Haigh III of Fayetteville.

The wedding was directed by Mrs. C. Wallace Jackson. The wedding musician was organist Patrick O’Briant.

Hosted by the bride’s parents, a wedding luncheon was held at their home in Fayetteville after the ceremony. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal supper at a private lake and cabin the evening before the wedding.

The bride is a graduate of Terry Sanford Senior High School in Fayetteville. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master’s degree from UNC-Greensboro. She is a reference librarian with the May Memorial Public Library in Burlington.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Milford High School in Milford, N.H., and received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of South Carolina. He is the manager of the Great Outdoor Provision Co. in Greensboro.

After a honeymoon trip to Orlando and Sanibel Island in Florida, the couple will live in Whitsett.

King — Barton
Susan Lynn King and Geoffrey Marc Barton, both of Hilton Head Island, S.C., were married icon at 2 p.m. on October 28 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville. The Rev. Frank Raffo officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard King of Hope Mills. The groom’s parents are Irby K. Barton of LaGrange, Ga., and the late Sylvia Elaine Cannon. The bridegroom also is the stepson of Carol Riley Barton of LaGrange.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was Kelly Dillon of Wilmington. The bridesmaids were Wendy Santiago of Lumberton, Pia Borromeo of Hilton Head Island and Crystal Heintz of Hope Mills.

The flower girl was Kirstie King of Fayetteville. The ring bearer was Gary Rinehart Jr. of Hemet, Calif.

The best man was the groom’s lifelong friend, James Christopher Ward of Atlanta. The groomsmen were Thomas Costin of Atlanta, Matthew Kozma of Seattle and Christopher Nix of Vero Beach, Fla.

The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville. She is the village manager of The Owner’s Club at Hilton Head.

The groom is a graduate of the School of Culinary Arts in Atlanta and the Art Institute of Atlanta. He is the resident chef of the Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run on Hilton Head Island.

The couple plans to live on Hilton Head Island.

Milligan — Vines
LAURINBURG — Kelly Lee Milligan of Chapel Hill and Jacob Perry Vines of Charlotte were married icon at 7 p.m. on October 21 at First United Methodist Church in Laurinburg. The Rev. Robert Dean officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Edwin Milligan of Laurinburg. The groom’s parents are Maj. Gen. and Mrs. John Randolph Vines of Fort Bragg.

The couple plans to live in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Stanley — Jennings
RAEFORD — Ellen Frances Stanley and Larry Duane Jennings, both of Augusta, Ga., were married icon at 2 p.m. on October 21 at United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Vaughan officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Ben and Peggy Stanley of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Larry and Cookie Jennings of Beaver Dam, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. John Brown
John E. “Ed” and Helen Albert Brown of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a seven-day Walt Disney World vacation, which included a cruise to Nassau and Disney’s private island.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown were married icon on Oct. 28, 1950, at Vaughn Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. They have one daughter, Cheryl Brown of Charlotte.
