DURHAM - Mr. and Mrs. Ira (Beau) Eakes, of Durham, due to Mr. Eakes having been sick after a major operation for the last 18 months, will celebrate their 25th, 26th, and 27th anniversaries by renewing their wedding vows in a special service this evening, March 12, 2006, at 5 p.m. at Living Waters Christian Community Church, 1104 Lynn Road, Durham.

Mr. and Mrs. William and Mary Lloyd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2006.
The couple, longtime residents of Durham, were married
in 1956 at Yates Baptist Church in Durham, where they remain members.
Mrs. Lloyd is retired from 20 years of teaching in the Durham County School System.
Mr. Lloyd is a retired Major in the United States Air Force and retired from 15 years with Brame School Products.
They will celebrate with a reception at their home given by the family on July 23, 2006.
The Lloyds have four children: Thomas Benton Lloyd, of Durham, James Franklin Lloyd, of Raleigh, Julia Lloyd Dula, of High Point and Mary Ellen Biery, of Huntersville.
They have six grandchildren.
