at five o’clock in the afternoon on November 19, 2005, at White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
The Reverend Doctor Arthur Ross III officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Snead Allen Jr., of Durham.
The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Constance Rose Petko, of Cary, and Mr. John Joseph Williams, of Mercer, Pa.
The bride was presented by her father and given in marriage by her family.
The bride wore her mother’s wedding gown of Chantilly Silk Lace with an off the shoulder neckline.
She wore a chapel length mantilla of Brussels lace.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Holly Allen Moyer, of Raleigh, sister of the bride.
Other bridal attendants were Margaret Chase Harris, of Raleigh, and Katherine Elizabeth Franklin, of Morganton, cousins of the bride, Kerry Bonner - Bryant, of Durham, and Jill Michelle Awe, of Raleigh.
Best man was John Michael Williams, of Charlotte, twin brother of groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Terry Robert Petko, of Cary, stepbrother to the groom, Mr. Robert Steven Uhorchak, of Holly Springs, Mr. Charles Edward George, of Cary and Mr. Peter Carlin Stockett Jr., of Apex.
Ushers were Mr. Gary Stephen Nichols Jr., of Morrisville and Mr. Matthew Hampton Price of Cary, both close friends of the groom.
Greeters were Miss Lisa Renee Mathis of Miami and Mrs. Kelly Farmer Lanier of Greensboro.
A reception was held at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh.
After a honeymoon trip to Antigua, the couple will reside in Raleigh.

The couple has seven children and nine grandchildren.

Ralph and Ruth Cates of Kernersville, NC, will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on February 13, 2006, at a family dinner with their two daughters, Debbie Fenner and husband, Patrick, of Laymone, PA, and Billie Jean Beck of Durham, NC.
They have five grandchildren and three great - grandchildren.
Ralph retired from Pilot Freight Carrier and also Medical Park Hospital as a Security Officer.
Ruth retired from Forsyth County School System as Cafeteria Manager.
