The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Roger Carden of Rougemont, NC. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Carden of Rougemont, NC; Mr. Grover Brown and the late Mrs. Geraldine Brown of Hillsborough, NC.
The maid of honor was Tiffney Kaye Duke of Rougemont, NC. Other bridal attendants were Kimberly Carden Davis of Bahama, NC, sister of the groom; Jennifer Claire Strickland of Durham, NC; Kristina Michelle Egger of Charleston, SC; Stacy Renee Creamer of Durham, NC; Melissa Brooke Spruill of Durham, NC; and Lauren Elizabeth Linens of Wilmington, NC. The bride graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts and Mitchell's Hair Styling Academy. She is employed by Mitchell's Hair Styling at Crabtree Valley in Raleigh.
The bridegroom graduated from Northern High School and is attending Vance Granville Community College. He is employed by L.D. Swain and Son, Inc.
After their honeymoon the couple will reside at 2901 Duke Homestead Road, Durham, NC.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Barn at Fearrington with entertainment provided by Liquid Pleasure.
The bride is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the bridegroom is a graduate of the University of Richmond.
Following a wedding trip to Brazil, the couple will reside in San Francisco, CA.
Loewenthal - Lewis
Lena Miller Loewenthal and David Allan Lewis were married
on Saturday evening, August 14, 2004, in the fields of Camp Bethel, Fincastle, Virginia.
The bride is the daughter of Sonna and Norman Loewenthal of Chapel Hill. She teaches biology at the Tandem Friends School in Charlottesville, Virginia, and is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School and Swarthmore College.
The bridegroom is the son of Marjory and Michael Lewis of Bentonville, Arkansas. He is the Director of Technology of StreamSage, Inc., and is a graduate of Swarthmore College.
The couple was attended by their brothers, Ethan Loewenthal of Mitchell County, NC, and Jared Lewis of Bentonville, Arkansas.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Shelter by the Spring at Camp Bethel. The weekend began with a cook - out and campfire the previous evening, and the celebration continued throughout Saturday and through brunch on Sunday, all at Camp Bethel.
The couple's wedding trip was to Irvington, Virginia. They live in Charlottesville, Virginia.
