Dr. Charles Horton, minister of Waynesville First Baptist Church, officiated. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The matron of honor was Deidre McMahon, sister - in - law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Laura Coulter, Aniek Dimmling, Brandi Hall, Maria Ray, Christine Smith, Courtney Surigao and Allison Tidwell. Honorary attendants were Francine Sims and Mechelle Shull.
The best man was Christopher Surigao, brother of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Brian Bowling, Steven Carson, Ronald Dean, Joshua Burris, Jeffrey Grothe, Chad McMahon, Walter Surigao, Matthew Weller and Erik Zellweger.

A rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gunter Jr., was held at the Waynesville Country Club. A reception hosted by the bride's parents followed the ceremony at the Waynesville Country Club.
The bride graduated from UNC - Chapel Hill in 2000 with a BA degree in Communications and in 2002 with a Masters in Speech - Language Pathology. She is employed as a Speech - Language Pathologist at UNC Hospitals.
The bridegroom also graduated from UNC - Chapel Hill in 1999 with a BA in Communications. He is employed as a District Sales Manager for Masco Corporation.
Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Chapel Hill.
