Bass - Rogers
EAU GALLE, Fla. — Sharon Ann Rogers of Melbourne, Fla., became the wife of James Dennis Bass Sr. of Melbourne June 19, 2004 at 6 p.m.
Kristine Yarbrough officiated at the double-ring ceremony American Legion Post 163.
The late Pearl Landvik and the late Leonard Landvik of Minneapolis, Minn. are parents of the bride.
The groom is the son of Martha Hellon Bass of Goldsboro and the late James Milton Bass of Fern Park, Fla.
Given in marriage and escorted by her son, Russel Rogers, the bride wore a full-length dress of silk with brocade pink and purple roses.
She carried a cascading bouquet of orchids with pink and white roses and baby’s breath.
Jeannine Rogers, daughter of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Ashley, Callie and Kenzee.
James Dennis Bass Jr. was his father’s best man. Groomsmen were Micah Bass and Darryl Yarbrough.
Katie Yarbrough was flower girl. Eric, son of the groom, was ring bearer.
Tami Barnett directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Crystal Bass.
Special helpers were Paula Moore, Steve Hall, Mark Kondracki and Danny Bass.
A program of wedding music was provided by a dj.
The couple is residing in Melbourne. They will take a wedding trip to Las Vegas, Nev., in November.
The bride attended Zigareli’s of Pittsburg. She is employed as a cosmetology salon manager.
The groom graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1967. He served in the Navy. He is employed in management and sales with Water Distributors of Brevard.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held.
Out-of-town guests were from Alabama, Minnesota and New York City.
Crawford - Standifer
Thelma Broadhurst Standifer and William Herman Crawford were united in holy matrimony July 31, 2004 at 2 p.m.
The Rev. Joe A. Jackson officiated at the ceremony at Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are the late Ethelene H. Broadhurst of Goldsboro and the late Odell Broadhurst.
Parents of the groom are Rosa Crawford of Goldsboro and the late Andrew Crawford.
Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her son, Duante’ Standifer, the bride wore a formal sleeveless gown of ivory satin and Alencon lace with a scalloped V-neckline adorned with pearls, sequins and lace. Beaded lace accented the sheath skirt. The back bodice was enhanced with an open heart with strands of draped pearls. Pearls and sequin lace motifs cascaded to define the detachable semi-cathedral train.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered veil of silk illusion attached to a half band with pearls, sequins and flowerettes. She carried a bouquet of coral and white silk roses tied with sheer ribbon.
Cheryl Broadhurst of Durham, sister-in-law, was matron of honor. Deborah Jackson of Goldsboro, friend, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Chester of Tampa, Fla., daughter of the groom; Mary Afterberry of Norfolk, Va., cousin of the bride; Gwendolyn Shearod of Goldsboro, niece of the bride; and Tonsia Evans of Goldsboro, friend of the bride.
Kirby McKiver of Goldsboro was his friend’s best man. Ushers were James Crawford of Goldsboro, brother of the groom, and Donald Rouse of Goldsboro, nephew of the groom. Groomsmen were Courtney Crawford of Washington D.C., son of the groom; Raymond Broadhurst of Durham and Jerry Broadhurst of Goldsboro, brothers of the bride; Henry King of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom; and Michael Williamson of Goldsboro, friend of the couple.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

On July 30, the couple held a rehearsal dinner at their home. They chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Everett - Rouse
PIKEVILLE — Natalie Marie Rouse and Michael E. Everett III said their marriage vows July 31, 2004 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Barry Stallings officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Frederick P. and Jane C. Rouse of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of the late John P. Creech and Carrie Marie Creech of Snow Hill and the late Jesse Willard Rouse and Daisy Rouse of Kinston.
The groom is the son of Michael Jr. and Daphne E. Everett of Princeton. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Sawrey Jr. of Goldsboro, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Evans of Princeton and the late Michael Everett Sr.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white matte satin and organza gown accented with beaded spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice was embellished with beaded embroidery trimmed with a jeweled pattern along the waistline and neckline. The A-line skirt had a split front accented with a ribbon edging and beaded Venise lace and flowed into a chapel-length train.
For her headpiece, she chose a silver tiara of rhinestones and pearls with a fingertip-length veil accented with crystal and pearls. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and pink roses accented with gypsophila and tree fern tied with white satin ribbon.
Freda Rouse, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Subha Kolluru of Goldsboro, Kristen Audrey of Fremont and Corie Mellinger of High Point, friends of the bride, and Regina Everett of Princeton, sister of the groom.
David DeMaria was his friend’s best man. Ushers were Joseph Franklin III of Pikeville and Michael Rhodes of Garner, friends of the groom. Groomsmen were Mike Jones and Brian Holloman of Goldsboro and B.J. Sintay of Winston-Salem, friends of the groom, and Dan Stovall of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom.
Michael Everett Jr., father of the groom, was the honorary best man.
Beth Stovall, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. Ben Stovall, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

After a wedding trip to Maryland, Pennsylvania and New York, the couple will reside in Princeton.
The bride is 2001 honor graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow at North Carolina State University for a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. She is employed as a computer lab instructor at North Carolina State University.
The groom graduated in 1999 with honors from Rosewood High School and cum laude in 2003 from North Carolina State University with bachelor of science degrees in computer engineering and electrical engineering. He is employed as a networking and computer hardware instructor with Wayne Community College and is owner of Information Technology Service and Support Inc.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Herman and Martha Norris, uncle and aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Tamra Renfrow and Cathy Best served the wedding cake. Amanda Barnes and Dawn Schappell poured punch. Brittney Creech, cousin of the bride, and Beth Stovall, cousin of the groom, distributed favors. Helpers were Lili Worley and Peggy Evans.

Tyler Simpson of Springfield, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Kraft Sr. of Mount Olive, Mr. and Mrs. L. Potter Greenwood of Cookeville, Tenn., and William T. Wooten of Blounts Creek.

The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Joe Frank Peek of Sumter, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John C. Cooper of Sumter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin S. Peek of Knoxville, Tenn.
Parents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs. Ashton T. Griffin III and the late Bennette Daughtry Griffin of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ashton T. Griffin Jr., Mrs. Benjamin James Daughtry Sr. and the late Mr. Daughtry of Goldsboro.

She is employed as a human services clinical counselor at Eastpointe Mental Health.
The groom graduated from Davidson College with a bachelor of science degree and special attainments in chemistry; Duke University with a master of arts degree in analytical chemistry and a master of education in education administration; and Montana State University with a master of science education. He received a national teaching certification in adolescence and young adulthood science from the national board for professional teaching standards. He is employed as a science teacher at Spring Creek High School and Wayne Community College.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the atrium of North Pavilion at Duke University Medical Center.
