Phillips-Huss
Jennifer Elizabeth Huss and Benjamin Eric Phillips, both of Bessemer City, were married
on June 1, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church in Gastonia.
The Rev. Patrick Perryman officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott C. Nanney of Kings Mountain and Danny A. Huss of Dallas.
She is the granddaughter of Edith Crane, John Huss, the late Floyd Wellman and the late Jennie Huss.
She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and attended Gaston College.
She is employed by Capital Investment Brokerage Inc. in Gastonia.
The bridegroom is the son of Tanya S. Phillips of Gastonia and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dean Phillips Sr. of Clover, S.C.
He is the grandson of Ella Mae Stowe, John Henry Smith Sr., Naoma Phillips Badger, the late Lois Nolene Phillips and the late H.B. Phillips.
He is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and is employed by Pike Electric Co. in Charlotte.

Christine Elizabeth Hall of Charlotte was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Jennifer H. Pope of Statesville, Susan C. Tomberlin of Gastonia, Kimberly D. Bennett of Lenexa, Kan., and Toscha Stinnett of Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Logan Cochran of Gastonia was the flower girl.
Austin Huss of Statesville was the ring bearer.
Jerry Dean Phillips Jr. of Gastonia was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Brent Huss of Statesville, and John Henry Smith, Josh Stowe and Jeremy Smith, all of Gastonia.
A reception was held at Courtyard by Marriott following the ceremony, hosted by the bride’s parents.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Chipper’s Restaurant, hosted by the groom’s mother.
Following a western Caribbean cruise, the couple will live in Bessemer City.
Hall-Patel
Shetal Jay Patel and Mark Allen Hall, both of Gastonia, were married

The bride is the daughter of Jay Patel of Gastonia and the late Nanduben Patel.
She is a graduate of Ashbrook High School and is employed by Sprint LD in Charlotte.
The bridegroom is the son of Shirley Hayes of Dallas and the late Leon Webb.
He is a graduate of East Gaston High School and is a volunteer at Stanley Fire Dept.
He is employed by Pike Electric in Fort Mill, S.C.

A rehearsal dinner was held at VFW in Stanley, hosted by the groom’s mother.
Following a trip to Jamaica, the couple will live in Gastonia.

The bride is the daughter of Ann Nance of Gastonia.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Hicks of Maryville, Tenn., Roy C. Murphy of Alcoa, Tenn., and the late Annie Lee Murphy.
She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and is employed by CaroMont Medical Group.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Harris.
He attended Clover High School and is employed by Coating 2000.

The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and now lives in Gastonia.
Houser-Barber
Heather Celeste Barber of Gastonia and Tommy Lee Houser Jr. of Lincolnton were married
on Nov. 30, 2002 at Firestone Wesleyan Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Nolan Barber of Gastonia.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Earl Barber, the late Jacqueline Shubert Rose and the late Charles Fitzhugh Rose Jr.
She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and Appalachian State University, where she was a member of the Campus Resident Student Association and the National Residence Hall Honorary. She is employed by the Gastonia Police Dept.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Lee Houser.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Charlie Brown, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Forest Lee Houser.
He is a graduate of West Lincoln High School and is employed by the N.C. Dept. of Corrections.

The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and now lives in Lincolnton.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Wood and James Anthony Starnes, both of Gastonia.
The bridegroom is the son of Rose Mary Brook of Gastonia and the grandson of Betty Freedel.

The couple honeymooned in Cherokee, and now lives in Gastonia.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Doby.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G.W. "Sonny" Savage of Bessemer City.
She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Carswell, and the late Mr. and Mrs. P.G. Savage.
She is a graduate of Bessemer City High School and Barbizon Modeling Academy, and is an admissions director at Barbizon Modeling of Charlotte.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Tucker of Gastonia.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tanner of Gastonia, and Dr. and Mrs. Eldon Tucker of Clinton, S.C.
