Burton-Chambers
Jamie Marianne Chambers of York, S.C., and Joe Lee Burton of Rock Hill, S.C., were married
on Oct. 14, 2001 at the home of the bride’s parents. The Rev. Teresa K. Moore officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion R. Chambers of York. She is the granddaughter of the late Hazel McDonald, the late Arthur "Buddy" McDonald and the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Lewis Chambers. She is a graduate of York Comprehensive High School.
The bridegroom is the son of Martha Burton of York and the late Lewis J. Burton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ottis Moss and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Burton. He attended York Comprehensive High School and is employed by Frank Bobo Inc. in Rock Hill.
Marion R. Chambers gave his daughter in marriage. The bride’s sister, Melissa Dawn Kerr of York, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister, Angel C. Waters of Shelby, and Rebecca G. Privette of York.
Roger Burton Jr. of Clover, S.C., was the best man. Groomsmen were Roy Hunter and Richard Hartsell, both of Rock Hill.
A reception was held following the ceremony, hosted by the bride’s parents. A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents, hosted by the bride and groom.
The couple lives in Rock Hill.
Queen-Bumgarner
Erica Wells Bumgarner and Matt Allen Queen, both of Rock Hill, S.C., were married
on Feb. 9, 2002 at Grace Baptist Church in Gastonia. The Rev. Michael Criswell officiated the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Eric Bumgarner and Donna Bumgarner and Dr. and Mrs. Samuel P. Hawes III, all of Charlotte. She is the granddaughter of Cecil Bumgarner of Dallas and the late Ruby Bumgarner, Dr. and Mrs. Posey Downs of Charlotte, Norman Greene of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Splawn of Inman, S.C. She is a graduate of South Point High School and Carolinas College of Health Sciences and is employed by Carolinas Medical Center.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven E. Queen and Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. Queen, all of Ranlo. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Benny L. Wallace of Gastonia and Viola Queen of Ranlo. He is a graduate of North Gaston High School and Gaston College and is employed by Lifestyle Technologies in Charlotte.
Eric Bumgarner gave his daughter in marriage. Andrea Beam of Bessemer City was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were April Queen and Holly Pollard, both of Gastonia, Jo-Ann Bumgarner of Belmont, Ashley and Lori Huffstetler, both of Dallas, and Lauren Price of Ranlo. Honorary bridesmaids were Beth Price, Gina Jenkins and Maria Helms. Kirsten McConnell was the flower girl. Clay Jenkins was the ring bearer.
Jeff Helms of Ranlo was the best man. Groomsmen were Justin Burgess and John Roberts, both of Stanley, Lake Bumgarner of Belmont, Mark Queen of Ranlo, and Phillip Lawson and Jeff Raby, both of Gastonia.
A reception was held at Gaston Country Club following the ceremony, hosted by the bride’s father and stepmother. A rehearsal dinner was held at the church, hosted by the groom’s mother and stepfather.
Following a trip to Aruba, the couple will live in Rock Hill.
Love-Haworth
Kelly Renee Haworth and Richard V. Love Jr., both of Knoxville, Tenn., were married
on Jan. 5, 2002 at West Park Baptist Church in Knoxville. The Rev. Jon Grindell officiated the 11:30 a.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Elaine Haworth of Knoxville and the late David Haworth. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Haworth. She is a graduate of Central High School and the University of Tennessee and earned a master’s degree from Tennessee Technological University. She is employed by St. Mary’s Health System in Knoxville.
The bridegroom is the son of Sue Ruhlman and Richard V. Love Sr., both of Gastonia. He is the grandson of Virginia Nell Hawkins and Bill Love, both of Gastonia. He is a graduate of Ashbrook High School and Bob Jones University and earned a master’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He is employed by Lindsay & Maples Inc.
Elaine Haworth gave her daughter in marriage. The bride’s sister, Lori Wright of Knoxville, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Kristen Burchfield Collins and Bobbie Lane, both of Knoxville. Flower girls were the groom’s niece, Ashleigh Lovelace of Gastonia, and Melissa Stooksbury of Knoxville. The bride’s nephews, Logan and Alex Wright, both of Knoxville, were ring bearers.
Brian Kolat of Greenville, S.C., was the best man. Groomsmen were Marty Kansky and Mark McIntyre, both of Knoxville. Andy DeRossett of Knoxville was an usher.
A reception was held at Bearden Banquet Hall following the ceremony, hosted by the couple and their families. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s mother and stepfather.
The couple took a cruise to Nassau, Bahamas, and now lives in Knoxville.
Costello-Weant

The bridegroom is the son of Nancy K. Cartwright of State College, Pa., and Floyd Joseph Costello of Lemoyne, Pa. He is a graduate of State College Area High School, State College and Lenoir-Rhyne College. He is employed by Lutheran Chapel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gastonia.

The couple took a cruise to Freeport, Bahamas, and now lives in Hickory.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Jones of Kingsport. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Davis of Blountville, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Jones. She is a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High school, Tennessee Technological and Clemson University. She is employed by Bi-Lo, LLC, in Mauldin, S.C.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stone of Gastonia. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wales Knight and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Stone. He is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and Belmont Abbey College. He is employed by Draexlmaier Automotive of America in Duncan, S.C.

The couple honeymooned on the South Carolina and Georgia coasts, and now lives in Taylors.

The bride is the daughter of Joyce and Doug Terry and Dennis L. Jr. and Lou Ann Goforth, all of Bessemer City. She is the granddaughter of Ruby Bryant of Gastonia and Dennis L. Goforth of Kings Mountain. She is a graduate of Bessemer City High School and Gaston College. She is employed by Carolina Temporaries in Gastonia.
The bridegroom is the son of Paul Stephen Shaw Sr. and Letha Shaw of Gastonia. He is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and attended Catawba College and Gaston College. He is employed by Ultra Additives.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Matheson of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Neil Howard of Clover. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curt West of Gastonia, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Howard of Kings Mountain and Mr. and Mrs. L.T. Matheson of Lake Wylie. She is a graduate of Clover High School and is employed by GMAC in Charlotte.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Tucker of Shelby and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Penninger of Newbern. He is the grandson of Helen Tyler of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Juanita Tucker of Belmont. He is a graduate of North Side Christian Academy and is a volunteer firefighter at Bethany Santiago Fire Dept. He is employed by Ratchford Tire Co. in Dallas.

The couple took a cruise to the Virgin Islands, and now lives in York.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce Rhyne of Lake Wylie. She is the granddaughter of Lucille Hill Forbes of Charlotte and the late Franklin Edison Forbes, and Madelyn Johnson Rhyne of Gastonia and the late Robert Ray Rhyne. She is a graduate of Ashbrook High School and UNC-Chapel Hill, where she is pursuing a master degree.

She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and American Academy of Hair Styling. She is the owner of Friendz Salon in Gastonia.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bush of Gastonia. He is the grandson of Edna Ward of Lowell and Audrey Bush of Gastonia. He is a graduate of North Gaston High School and Gaston College and is a member of the Gaston County Cyclist Club. He is employed by Scaglia America Inc. in Charlotte.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dunston of Cary. He is the grandson of Senor and Senora Siegfried G. Lexow of Mendoza, Argentina, and Grace Dunston of Cary and the late Claude Dunston Sr.

Following an eastern Caribbean cruise, the couple will live in Gastonia.
