Lowe-Wright
Kristen Elizabeth Wright of Boone and David Matthew Lowe of Adelaide, Australia, were married
on Aug. 12, 2000 at Parkwood Baptist Church. The bride’s grandfather, the Rev. Fred C. Crisp, officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wright of Gastonia. She is a graduate of Ashbrook High School and Appalachian State University. She is employed by Samaritan’s Purse.
The bridegroom, son of Sheril Lowe of Adelaide, is a graduate of Marryatville High School and Christian Brothers College. He is a freelance photographer.
Jim Wright gave his daughter in marriage. Angela Bradshaw of Gastonia was the matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Mya Crisp of Charlotte, Celeste Long of Gastonia, Wendy Stouffer of Denver, Colo., and Paige Green of Boone. Junior bridesmaids were Ashlee and Brittney Shaw, both of Gastonia.
Groomsmen were Marty Bradshaw and Jeff Long, both of Gastonia, Larry Honeycutt of Wilmington and Randy Riddle of Boone.
A reception was given by the bride’s parents at the church following the ceremony. A rehearsal party was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Woods.
Following a trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple will live in Boone.
Major-Fisher
Crystal Leigh Fisher and William John Majors III, both of Kings Mountain, were married
on Aug. 12, 2000 at First Baptist Church. Dr. John W. Sloan Jr. officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fisher of Kings Mountain. She is the granddaughter of Sue Ballard of Gastonia and the late Jack Ballard and Mary Fisher of Gastonia and the late Jim Fisher. She is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and attends UNC-Charlotte.
The bridegroom is the son of William J. Majors Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Md., and Alice Hancock of Salisbury, Md. He is the grandson of Alice Majors of Salisbury and the late William J. Majors Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bridelle. He is a graduate of James M. Bennett Senior High School, West Virginia University and Life University Chiropractic School. He is a member of the Shelby Kiwanis Club and is owner of Majors Center of Chiropractics.
Ray D. Fisher gave his daughter in marriage. Cheryl Fisher of Kings Mountain was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Windy Phillips of Gastonia, Tracy Wylie of Blacksburg, S.C., and Monica Fisher and Katie Bolt, both of Kings Mountain. Logan Ballard of Gastonia was the flower girl. Samuel Dye of Gastonia was the ring bearer.
Andy Majors of Shelby was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Todd Hudson of Salisbury, Stephen Fisher and Jeff Johnson, both of Kings Mountain and Mike Congro of Hickory.
A reception was given by the bride’s parents at the church following the ceremony. A rehearsal dinner was given by the bridegroom’s parents at the home of Chris and Donna Keeter.
Following a trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple will live in Kings Mountain.
Griffis-Abernathy
Kristina Ann Abernathy and Richard Keith Griffis Jr., both of Mount Holly, were married
on Aug. 12, 2000 at Always Elegant Wedding Chapel. David Stephenson officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Abernathy of Mount Holly. She is a graduate of East Gaston High School and is employed by South Point Family Practice.
The bridegroom, son of Georgia Smith of Bessemer City, Keith Griffis Sr. of Zephyrhills, Fla., and David Smith of Gastonia, is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School. He is employed by Best Buy.

Following a trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will live in Mount Holly.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller of Banner Elk. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Whiteside and Mr. and Mrs. Jap Miller, all of Gastonia. He is a graduate of Ashbrook High School and attended Gaston College. He is employed by RGA Enterprises Inc.

The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and now live in Gastonia.

She is the granddaughter of Arne Arnholdt of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Gerda Arnholdt of Hamburg, Germany, and Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Benbow of Birmingham, England. She is a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and attended Gaston College. She is employed by Party City.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Stewart of Gastonia. He is a graduate of Ashbrook High School and attended Gaston College. He is employed by Meineke Discount Mufflers and Brakes.

The couple will live in Gastonia.

on Nov. 25, 2000, at The Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Belmont. Pastor Howard Bedell officiated the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Davis of Cherryville. She is the granddaughter of Betty C. Trammell of Cherryville and the late Landrum Willis Trammell, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Smith of Kings Mountain and Harold Davis of Bessemer City. She is a graduate of Cherryville High School and Belmont Abbey College. She is employed by the Bryan Center.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Gardner of Charlotte. He is the grandson of Willie Poythress and the late Clarence Whitlow and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Daly. He is a graduate of Independence High School and is owner of Hanging Around Town Professional Wallpapering.
Dean Davis gave his daughter in marriage. Amy Cope of Charlotte was the maid of honor.

A reception was given by the bride’s parents at the Student Commons at Belmont Abbey College following the ceremony. A rehearsal dinner was given by the bridegroom’s parents and aunts, Jean Austin and Marie Kaufman, at Queen of Apostles in Belmont.
The couple honeymooned in Charleston, S.C.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven M. Meredith of North Myrtle Beach. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bates and Kate Chaney, all of Gastonia. She is a graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School and Clemson University. She is employed by North Myrtle Beach Middle School.
The bridegroom is the don of Dr. and Mrs. A.E. Jordan Jr. of Myrtle Beach, S.C. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. O’Tuel of Bennettsville, S.C., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jordan. He is a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and Coastal Carolina University. He is employed by Horry County Police Department.
