in a candlelit, double ring ceremony at 2 p.m. on November 9, 2002, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Bernard E. Shlesinger officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bryon Graham of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of Elmer Graham of Oxford, Ala., the late Hilda Sarah Graham and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph William Suehs. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Ellie Loosier.
The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Conrad Lee of Dunn. The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Luther Henry Jones and the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton Robert Lee.
The bride wore a strapless white gown accented with an upsweep of organza and lace around the waist. Schiffili lace adorned the hem and the cathedral-length train. The gown was complemented by a matching shawl. Her two-tiered, fingertip-length veil of silk illusion was highlighted with scalloped edging and attached to a silver tiara encrusted with pearls, sequins and Austrian crystals. She carried a small white Bible that had been carried by her mother on her wedding day. Tucked inside the Bible was a tatted cross belonging to her great-grandmother. The Bible was topped with a cascading bouquet of Stargazer lilies, red roses and orchids, bound with a flowing white satin ribbon.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with customary black dinner jacket, white vest and a white Windsor tie.
The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Amy M. Thomas of Johnson City, Tenn. The bridesmaids were Lisa M. Hardwick of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Laura E. Maldonado of Edwards, Calif.; Emily T. Perry of Fayetteville; Crystal G. Williams of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Lesa R. Caves and Tara M. Aman, both of Greenville. The bridesmaids wore two-piece gowns. The black glimmer jersey tops had bateau necklines, spaghetti straps and high backs. The pewter capri taffeta skirts featured mermaid backs and sweep trains. They carried bouquets of Stargazer lilies and satin ribbons. The bearer of flowers was Alyssa Hardwick of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the ring bearer was the groom’s nephew, Nathan C. Wooten of Dunn.
The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Anthony Autrey, Raymond Johnson, Scott Jones and Michael Smith, all of Dunn; Jason Brinkley of Greenville; and Roger Jackson of Wilmington. The groomsmen were dressed in black tuxedos, with gray platinum vests and ties.
The wedding was directed by Kathy Melcher. The wedding musicians were pianist/vocalist Elaine Butler; soloist Connie Sue Wooten; and bagpiper Peter McArthur. The acolyte was Jareth Melcher. Serving as readers were Tara Aman and Sandy Lambertson.
A reception, hosted by the couple’s parents, was held at the church’s Drexel Hall after the ceremony.
On the morning of the wedding, the bride’s mother hosted a bridesmaids’ breakfast at the Divine Street Bed and Breakfast in Dunn.
The groom’s parents hosted a pig pick’n rehearsal dinner on November 8, 2002, in Drexel Hall. At this time, appreciation gifts were presented to the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Friends and relatives entertained the couple with a floating shower held in the church’s Drexel Hall on August 25, 2002. A Pampered Chef kitchen shower was held at the home of Connie Sue Wooten on October 12, 2002. A lingerie shower was given by the bridesmaids on October 26, 2002, in Hillsborough. The bride’s co-workers gave her a surprise luncheon on October 28, 2002, at the Acropolis Greek restaurant in Burlington at which time the bride was presented with gifts.
The bride is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology and biochemistry and her master’s degree in English from East Carolina University in Greenville. She is a product developer with Carolina Biological Supply Co. in Burlington.
The bridegroom is a graduate of South Johnston High School in Benson. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from East Carolina University in Greenville. He is currently working toward his doctorate degree in statistics at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is a graduate assistant with the university.
After a honeymoon trip to Walt Disney World, Fla., the couple will reside in Hillsborough.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Country Club of North Carolina after the ceremony.
The bride received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her doctor of pharmacy degree from Campbell University School of Pharmacy. She is a staff pharmacist with Novant Health at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
The bridegroom received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his juris doctorate degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in Winston-Salem. He is an investment banker with Banc of America Securities in Charlotte.
After a honeymoon trip to Playa del Carmen, the couple will live in Charlotte.
