CHARLOTTE — Kelly Anne Schumacher and Adam James Nalitz, both of San Francisco, Calif., were married icon on September 28, 2002, with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Peden and Father Mark Horak, S.J., officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Paul Schumacher of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schumacher and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Boettinger.

The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. James Nalitz of Springfield, Va. The bridegroom is the grandson of Helen Sokol of Avalon, Pa.; the late Mr. and Mrs. StanleyNalitz; and the late Peter Sokol.

The bride wore an A-line, ivory silk dress which featured off-the-shoulder sleeves, a short train and a fan of silk along the back. Her cathedral-length veil was accented with Austrian crystals and attached to a custom-made headpiece created with garnets and gold topaz. She carried a bouquet of ivory and burgundy roses, hypericumberries, rosemary and Japanese maple leaves with fall colors and accents.

She was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Lisa Joanisse of West Palm Beach, Fla. The bridesmaids were Amber Scures of Gainesville, Fla.; Teresa Voght of Lebanon, Conn.; Heather Roemer of Charlotte; Amy Burger of San Diego, Calif.; and Jill Norman of Cornelius. The junior bridesmaid was Audrey Schumacher of Bladenboro. The bell ringer was Tanner Pardue of Cornelius.

The best man was the groom’s cousin, Thad Nalitz of New York City, N.Y. The groomsmen were Rick Muray of Holmdel, N.J.; Jeremy Cohen of Ashburn, Va.; Scott Norris of Crownsville, Md.; and Scott Seager of San Diego, Calif. The usher was Andy Schumacher of Fayetteville.

The wedding was directed by WillieBelle Martin. The wedding musicians were the Secondo Trio — Joe Corne, Helen Gardner Parks and Dr. Bill Sutton.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Charlotte Women’s Club after the ceremony.

The bride received her bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a freelance photographer.

The bridegroom received his master’s degree business administration from West Virginia University in Morganton. He is employed with Barclary’s Global Investors.

After a honeymoon trip to the Tahitian Islands, the couple settled in San Francisco, Calif.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Leah Wright of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Sarah Brown of Atlanta, Ga.; Rebecca Clodfelter of Fayetteville; Jennifer Duhon of Raleigh; Lindsey Heiser of Charlotte; Cassie Martin of Godwin; and Heather Williams of Wade.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were Billy Faircloth, Dan Matthews, Daniel Price and Michael Rainey, all of Raleigh; Trey McLaurin of Wade; and Henry Smith of Fayetteville.

The bride is a graduate of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville. She received her bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She is a therapeutic recreation specialist at Southeastern Regional Rehabilitation Center.

The groom is a graduate of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is an assistant resident engineer with the North Carolina Department of Transportation in Raleigh.

After a honeymoon trip to Disney World, Fla., the couple plans to live in Clayton.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Randal Brooks of Pembroke. The groom’s parents are Linda Chavis and Marvin Chavis, both of Lumberton.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maid of honor was the bride’s cousin, Emily Autumn Love of Pembroke. The bridesmaids were Coretta Revell and Tafara Locklear, both of Lumberton; Allison Love of Pembroke; Stacy Locklear of Wilmington; and August Hammonds of Atlanta, Ga. The miniature bride was Makayla Brooks and the miniature groom was Brock Chavis. The flower girls were Hannah Revell and Jordan Chavis. The ring bearers were Devin McGirt and Bryce Chavis.

The best men were the groom’s brothers, Dusty Chavis of Lumberton and Tony Chavis of Florence, S.C. The groomsmen were Randal Brooks of Pembroke, Mark Sampson of Charlotte, Chris Oxendine of Lumberton, Channing Jones of Morehead City and Ron Jacobs of Hope Mills. The junior groomsman was Tyler Revell.

The bride is a graduate of Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from East Carolina University. She is an oncology therapist with Gibson Cancer Center.

The groom is a graduate of Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke, Robeson Community College in Lumberton and the North Carolina Highway Patrol program. He is a state trooper with the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

After a honeymoon trip to the Caribbean, the couple plans to live in Hope Mills.

KAUAI, Hawaii — Shawna Michelle Buckler and David Glenn Catlett, both of Chapel Hill, N.C., were married icon at sunset on Hanalei Bay on June 23, 2002. The Rev. Chad Arnold officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Buckler of Laconia, N.H. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jones of Fayetteville, N.C.

The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Melissa Buckler.

The bride received her bachelor’s degree in French from the University of New Hampshire and her master’s in the art of teaching in French from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a French teacher at Estes Hills Elementary School, part of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School System.

The groom received his bachelor’s degree in psychology and his master’s degree in audiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a pediatric audiologist with CCCDP/UNC Hospitals.

After a honeymoon in Kauai, the couple settled in Pittsboro, N.C.
