Robert "Bobby" Drew Lovelace

SANFORD — Amber Faith Lewis and Robert “Bobby” Drew Lovelace, both of Raleigh, were married icon at 7 p.m. on September 21, 2002, at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Rector officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David S. and Tracey Anne Lewis of Carolina Trace in Sanford. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bird of Fayetteville, the late Tracy Cook and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Alfred Lewis.

The bridegroom’s parents are Maj. Gen. and Mrs. James J. Lovelace of Fort Myer, Va. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Lovelace of Richmond, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rienhart Rieman.

The bride wore an original Maggie Soterro gown of lamour satin which was trimmed in beads and crystals. The corset-style lace-up gown had a chapel-length train with a bodice that wrapped around to form an asymmetrical waist, accented with a V-neckline. She carried a nosegay of white roses, bugle lilies and stephanotis with mixed greenery.

The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s friend, Dr. Leigh Roberson Phillippe of Kinston. The bridesmaids were Ashley Nicole Parr-Henderson of Raleigh, Lori Ann Lewis of Wake Forest, Jennifer Louise Napolitano of Black Mountain and Jennifer Dale Hall-Savage of Fletcher. The flower girl was the bride’s niece, Emma Carolina Lewis of Wake Forest. The ring bearer was the bride’s nephew, Cole Patton Lewis of Hickory.

The best man was the groom’s father. The groomsmen were David Sheridan Lewis Jr. of Hickory; Steven Todd Lewis of Wake Forest; 2nd Lt. Jeffrey Brent Lovelace of Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; Michael James Lovelace of Silver Springs, Md.; and Scott Allen Zapko of Greensboro. The junior groomsman was David “Trey” S. Lewis III of Hickory.

The wedding was directed by Carolina Hardy Lytle. The wedding musicians were organist Cecile Booth, trumpeter Paul Neebe and vocalists Shannon Bissette, Emma Rice and Mark Rice.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Carolina Trace Country Club in Sanford after the ceremony.

The bride received her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College in Raleigh. She is the sales and service manager of Central Carolina Bank in Durham.

The bridegroom attended Methodist College in Fayetteville. He is the branch employment coordinator with Trugreen Chemlawn in Morrisville.

After a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple plans to live in Raleigh.

Jennifer Ann Burns &
Teddy Joe Odle II

Jennifer Ann Burns of Fayetteville and Teddy Joe Odle II of Fort Polk, La., were married icon at 5 p.m. on September 21, 2002, at Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. Bruce Martin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rebecca Ann Burns of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of Lloyd George Burns of Fayetteville and Shirley Eisenhower of Yulee, Fla.

The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Joe Odle of Panama City, Fla. The bridegroom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nye Odle and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willard Spring.

The bride wore a matte-satin, A-line gown which featured a scoop neck and V-cut sleeves. The gown was accented in Venetian lace with a pearl and crystal design and covered buttons which extended down the length of the train. Her white veil was highlighted with scalloped edges and pearls and was attached to a silver tiara. She carried a bouquet of roses and stargazer lilies.

The bride was escorted by her grandfather. The matron of honor was the bride’s friend, Amy Elliott of Roseboro. The bridesmaids were Hannah Burns, Jessica Burns and Kristen Burns, all of Fayetteville. The flower girl was Caitlyn Warrick and the ring bearer was Tristan Burns, both of Fayetteville. The town crier was Jimmy Marshall of Fayetteville.

The best man was the groom’s friend, Robert Brossig of Fayetteville. The groomsmen were Rodney Parker and Thomas Burns, both of Fayetteville, and Chris Edge of Autryville.

The wedding was directed by Karen Burns. The wedding musicians were flutist Tonya Allen, pianist Nancy Brady, organist Mary Ann Martin-Howell and vocalists Johanna Allen and Thomas Elliott.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s mother and grandfather, was held at the Radisson Prince Charles following the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of Douglas Byrd High School in Fayetteville and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is a teacher with Pickering Elementary School in Leesville, La.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Mosley High School in Panama City, Fla. He is a utilities equipment repairer and operator with the U.S. Army’s 2nd ACR Maintenance Troop.

After a honeymoon trip to Natchitoches, La., the couple plans to live in Leesville, La.

The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Roger D. Layaou of Newton Grove. The groom’s parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Major A. Brown.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Timothy Layaou of Dunn. The matron of honor was the bride’s friend, Michelle L. Hair of Pine Grove, Pa. The bridesmaids were Sherry Layaou of Dunn and Tammy East of Moncure. The flower girl was the bride’s niece, Shayvon Brown, and the ring bearer was the groom’s son, Anthony Michael Brown.

The best man was the groom’s friend, Raymond Scott of Durham. The groomsmen were Kevin Crocker and Al Crivelli, both of Raleigh.

The bride is a graduate of Pleasant valley Christian Academy in Pine Grove, Pa., and received training as a phlebotomist at Central Carolina Community College. She is the owner of Tri-City Meats.

The groom is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville. He is a stone designer with House of Stone.

After a honeymoon trip to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple settled in Dunn.

The groom’s parents are Mrs. Mary Dehmer Townsend of Boulder, Colo., and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Varser Townsend Jr. of Fayetteville. He is the grandson of Alma O’Sullivan Townsend of Fayetteville; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dehmer of Charleston, S.C.; and the late Daniel Varser Townsend.

The bride was escorted by her father. The maids of honor were the bride’s sisters, Susan Louise Cauley and Kate Elizabeth Cauley, both of Raleigh. The bridesmaids were Elizabeth Aldridge Boney of Charlotte and Frances Stanley McClintock of Raleigh. The honorary bridesmaid and register attendant was Andrea Lynn Malik of Atlanta, Ga. The program attendant and greeter was the bride’s cousin, Janice Lowery Hontz of Woodbridge, Va. The lay reader was the groom’s sister, Jennifer Townsend Larkin of Denver, Colo.

The best man was William Glen Goins of Beale Air Force Base, Calif. The groomsmen were Daniel Varser Townsend III and Robert Matthew Townsend, both of Wilmington, and Scott Allen Schwartz of Frisco, Texas.

The bride is a graduate of Kinston High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and her master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the Phi Mu sorority. She is a certified public accountant with Deloitte & Touche in Raleigh.

The groom is a graduate of Rocky Mount Senior High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. He is a doctoral degree candidate at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
