at 2 p.m. on May 25, 2002, at Stedman Baptist Church. The Rev. Frank Davis officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Pat King of Raeford and Olin Anderson of Winston-Salem. The groom’s parents are Pat Longhany of Wade and Gary Alphin of Stedman.
The bride was escorted by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Stephanie Garza of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Wendy Tysinger of Fayetteville, Candace Alphin of Stedman, Charlene Fowler of White Oak and Dee Inman of Raeford. The flower girl was Alexis Huerta and the ring bearer was Aaron Moore, both of Fayetteville.
The best man was the groom’s friend, Robert Sowards of Stedman. The groomsmen were Jon Hall, Chris Alphin, Ricky Bunce and Jason Hollingsworth, all of Stedman.
The bride is a graduate of South View High School in Hope Mills. She is the real estate advertising sales representative with The Fayetteville Observer’s Real Estate Marketplace.
The groom is a graduate of Cape Fear High School in Fayetteville. He is the regional manager of Carwash Service Express Inc.
After a honeymoon trip to Freeport, Bahamas, the couple settled in Cedar Creek.

WILMINGTON — Kelli Rebecca West of Roswell, Ga., and Glenn Jonathan Galish of Atlanta were married
at 3:30 p.m. on October 20, 2001, at St. Thomas Preservation Hall. The Rev. James L. Gardner Jr. officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby West of Fayetteville. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Art Galish of Pound Ridge, N.Y.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Robert West, and given away by her father, Bobby West. The maid of honor was Paula Turner of Wilmington. The matron of honor was Tina West of Fayetteville. The bridesmaids were Carrie West of Fayetteville, Nissa Curtis of Atlanta and Alyson Boyea of Alpharetta, Ga. The honorary attendant was Angela Lanier of Wilmington. The child attendants were Tyler West of Fayetteville and Brittany Young and Candice Young, both of Huntington Beach, Calif.
The best man was Murray Curtis of Atlanta. The groomsmen were Joe White of Woodstock, Ga., and Dan Woods of Largemont, N.Y. The honorary attendants were Robert West and Kyle West, both of Fayetteville, and Brian Coldrick of Sammamith, Wash.
The bride is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville. She is currently attending Georgia Perimeter College and in the fall will attend Georgia State University. She is in branch administration with Fidelity National Bank in Atlanta.
The groom is a graduate of Fox Lane High School in Bedford, N.Y., and Gordon College in Wenham, Mass. He is an Allstate Agent in Alpharetta, Ga.
After a honeymoon trip to St. Augustine, Fla., Key West and a cruise to the Bahamas, the couple settled in Atlanta.
Mr. & Mrs. Southerland
Janice Singletary Southerland and William George Southerland Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 15, 2002, with a dinner held in the Hope Mills First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Southerland were married
on June 14, 1952, at Massey Hill Baptist Church. They have three children, William Southerland Jr., Joseph Southerland and wife Audrey and Rhonda S. Toft and husband William. The couple has four grandchildren.
The celebration was hosted by the couple’s children, assisted by A.B. and Barbara Cullen. The couple will also celebrate with a cruise to Alaska later this month.
Mrs. Southerland is retired from The Fayetteville Observer. Mr. Southerland retired from the U.S. Army and Cargill.

on June 1, 1952, at the Live Oak Methodist Church in Live Oak. They have three children, Cynthia H. Scott and husband George, Janice H. Southard and husband Daniel and Steven D. Hopper and wife Ydonna. The couple has four grandchildren.

on June 8, 1947, in Lynnfield, Mass. Mrs. Smith was the former Eileen Dow of Lynnfield, Mass. They have three children, Stephen S. Smith and wife Elizabeth of Gainesville, Va.; Beverly S. Smith of Eastover; and Barbara S. Kennedy and husband David of Garner. The couple has five grandchildren.

on June 6, 1952, in Gloucester, Va. They have five children, Edith Morgan, Shirley Lipscomb, Jeanette Tedrick, Barbara Kelsey and Lora DeVita. The couple has 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville. He received his bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. He is a captain and B-1 pilot with the U.S. Air Force stationed in Kansas City, Mo.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Avery Good of Durham. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. McCall of Fayetteville.
The bridegroom’s parents are Marie Stone of King George, Va., and the late Clarence Stone. The bridegroom is the grandson of Dorothy Maurer of King George, Va., and the late Fred Maurer.
The bride was escorted by her father. The matrons of honor were Christy Keagy of Chapel Hill and Ginna Wootton of Durham. The bridesmaids were Dee Copeland and Jennifer Ray, both of Chapel Hill; Chris Davis of Richlands, Va.; Kelly Fuller of Charlotte; Tracey Morrell of New Bern; and Patricia Segee of Jacksonville, Fla.
The best man was the groom’s brother, Garrett Stone of Falls Church, Va. The groomsmen were Clarence Stone of Albuquerque, N.M.; Andy Burgin and Brian Good, both of Charlotte; Dr. Joseph Gadzia of Lawrence, Kan.; James Layne of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jonathan Lane of Cary; and Dr. Stephen Sgan of Decauter, Ga.
The wedding was directed by Taylor Shaw. The wedding musicians were organist Dr. David Arcus and flutist Ellen Hinkle.
A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held at the Searle Center in Durham after the ceremony.
The bride received her bachelor’s degree in health policy and administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master’s degree in business administration from Meredith College. She is a clinical data manager with Celeris Corp. in Morrisville.
The bridegroom received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. He is the president of Simon Industries Inc.
After a honeymoon trip to Aruba, the couple settled in Morrisville.

Jessica Gail Moore and Jerry Allen Stapleton both of Fayetteville were married
at 3 p.m. on June 22, 2002, at Lebanon Baptist Church in Eastover with the Rev. Todd Brady officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie T. “Tommy” Moore of Fayetteville. She is the granddaughter of Della Mae Matthews of Fayetteville and the late Billy Turner Matthews and the great-granddaughter of the late Lillian Matthews and the late Julia Culbreth.
The bridegroom’s parents are Janice McCracken Davis of Woodway, Va., and Jerry L. Stapleton of Dryden, Va. He is the stepson of Patricia Stapleton of Dryden, Va. The groom is the grandson of the late Milford and Vona McCracken and the late Bufford and Zessie Stapleton.
The bride wore a satin, short-sleeved A-Line gown by Michaelangelo with Schiffli lace and a scalloped neckline accented with pearls. The bride’s headpiece was a tiara highlighted with lace, pearls and roses. The bride carried a cascade bouquet of red roses accented with baby’s breath.
The groom wore a black linen tuxedo with customary black dinner jacket, gray platinum vest and black/gray tie by Oscar de la Renta.
The maid of honor was the bride’s niece, Amanda Walters of Stedman. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Jennifer Walters, of Stedman. The bridesmaids were Rhonda Freeman of Wade; Cheryl Hudson, Donna Godwin, Le Nelle Davis, Melissa Dudley, Angela Brady and Kim Foust, all of Fayetteville; and Megan Council of Hope Mills. The junior bridesmaids were Hannah Nix and Kayla Davis, both of Fayetteville, and Ciara Freeman of Wade.
The best man was the bride’s brother, Jessie Thomas “Jr.” Moore II of Fayetteville. The junior best man was Drake Largent of Hope Mills, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Jeremy Moore, of Greenville; Adam Baynard, of Forest City; and Henry Smith, Corey R. Breece Jr., Mike Foust, Chris Godwin, Chris Hudson and Patrick Raynor, all of Fayetteville. The junior groomsmen were Aaron Freeman of Wade and David Breece, Colin Hudson and Hunter Averitt, all of Fayetteville.
The flower girl was Kayleigh Culbreth of Fayetteville, and the ring bearer was Billy M. Walters of Stedman.
The wedding was under the direction of Kim Strickland.
Musical enlistments were provided by Angela Brady, Patrick Raynor, Mike Izzell, Cheryl Hudson and Billy M. Walters, nephew of the bride. The pianist was Dedra Culbreth of Fayetteville.
The bride’s parents were hosts for the reception at the Family Life Enrichment Center at Salem United Methodist Church in Eastover, which was directed by Hilda McGill.
The wedding rehearsal dinner was held on June 21, 2002 at the Lebanon Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and hosted by and given as a wedding gift by Julia Sue Godwin, aunt of the bride. At this time, appreciation gifts were presented to the bridesmaids, groomsmen and hostesses.
The bride is a graduate of Cape Fear High School and is employed at the Corner Grill in Eastover, a family business.
The groom is a graduate of Lee High School in Jonesville, Va., and is employed with Rogers and Breece Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
After a honeymoon cruise to Mexico the couple will live in Eastover.
