HENDERSON -- Katherine Blair Tucker and Knox Randolph Tate, both of Chapel Hill, were married icon Saturday at First Baptist Church in Henderson with Dr. Marion D. Lark officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Beverly Tucker of Henderson. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. George Reginald Tucker Sr. of Hertford and the late Mr. Tucker, and of the late Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Preston Brinn, formerly of Hertford. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in journalism and mass communication, and will complete a master's degree in guidance and counseling from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in August.

The groom is the son of Suzanne Craven Bullock of Blowing Rock and James Knox Tate IV of Chapel Hill. He is the grandson of Mrs. Eli Baxter Craven of Roxboro, and the late Mr. Craven, and of the late Dr. and Mrs. James Knox Tate III, formerly of Bolivar, Tenn. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a degree in biology, and will graduate from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine in May.

Megan Paige Tucker of Greenville, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Culbertson Grew of Chapel Hill, sister of the groom, Alli Brown Murr of Charlotte, Kathryn Brandon Noel of Raleigh, Kendall Trull Rogers of Washington, D.C., Amanda Matule Steiner of Atlanta, Ga., Parks Mason Stewardson of Henderson and Elizabeth McCall Woodroof of Neptune Beach, Fla.

James Knox Tate IV, the groom's father, served as best man. Groomsmen were Eli Craven Tate of Corpus Christi, Texas, brother of the groom, William Beverly Tucker Jr. of Denver, Colo., and Preston Monds Tucker of San Francisco, Calif., brothers of the bride, Romulo Ernesto Colindres of Chapel Hill, Benjamin Christian Rushton of Raleigh, and Scott Andrew Wissel of Kansas City, Mo.

Honor attendants were Sarah Brinn Smith, Hannah Callen Smith, Elizabeth Holmes Edwards, and Katherine Barden Craven, all cousins of the bride and groom. Tracy Lynn Carroll of Durham and Elizabeth Schnell Livesay of Raleigh presided at the guest registry.

Immediately following the ceremony, a garden reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

After a honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Atlanta, Ga., where the groom will begin his residency in radiology at Emory University and the bride will work as a school counselor in the Atlanta area.

CHAPEL HILL -- Stacie Bailey Stewart and Christopher Brett Warren were married icon at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Farrington Road Baptist Church in Chapel Hill with the Rev. Jim Greenlee officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde S. Stewart Jr. of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with degrees in elementary education and psychology, and is employed by Pitt County Schools as a sixth grade teacher.

The groom is the son of William L. Warren of Hampstead and Penny A. Warren of Gloucester, Mass. He is a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in business administration and is employed by Carolina Sales Associates.

The maid of honor was Lisa Renee Whiteheart. Bridesmaids were Amy Michelle Gibson, Katherine Lee Hollander and Leanne Janice Sigrist. The flower girl was Chesley Paige Hollander.

Best man was William Larry Warren. Groomsmen were Timothy John Muller, Shannon Tristan Todd and Donald Robert Troutman. The ring-bearer was Patrick Lawrence Stogner.

Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted a reception at The Doubletree Guest Suites.

After a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Winterville.

The bride is the daughter of Martha and Louis P. Moore of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of Guilford College.

The groom is the son of Frances Wortz Ross of Austin, Texas. He is a graduate of East Carolina University and works as a software developer.

The maid of honor was Angela Dew of Wilmington.

The best man was Sandy Jarrell of Raleigh.

The couple reside in Ottawa, Canada.

The bride is the daughter of Lucy Richardson of Carrboro and Barrie Richardson of Shreveport, La. She graduated from Kenyon College and is a manager at Cisco Systems Inc. in RTP.

The groom is the son of Carmen and Henry Rivers of Johns Island, S.C. He is a graduate of Sewanee University and is a hardware engineer at Cisco Systems Inc. in RTP.

The matron of honor was Jan Richardson Richert of Jackson, Miss., sister of the bride. Flower girls were Madeleine Richardson, Anna Richardson, Curtin Richardson, all of Winston-Salem, and Juliette Richert of Jackson, Miss., all nieces of the bride; and Zoe Bent and Faith Bent, both of Bronxville, N.Y., and nieces of the groom.

The best man was the groom's father. Ushers were William Rivers of Charleston, S.C., Gregorie Rivers of Charlotte, and Marc Rivers of Raleigh, all cousins of the groom; and Craig Richardson of Winston-Salem and David Richardson of Durham, brothers of the bride.

Music was provided by Brass on the Slide as well as pianist Allen Wilcox. Soloist was Maria-Teresa Fernandez.

Following a honeymoon in Maine, the couple will reside in Durham.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Diane Stafford of Gainesville, Fla. She is a graduate of Clemson University and the Watts School of Nursing. She is a nurse at Duke University Medical Center..

The groom is the son of Brian and Sharon Lake of Ontario, Canada. He is a graduate of Western University in London, Ontario. He owns Tuition Painters in Cary.

The matron of honor was Shaun Stafford Beckish of Macon, Ga. The maid of honor was Shannon Marie Stafford of Gainesville, Fla. Bridesmaids were Lynne Marie Brown of Tampa, Fla., Ronni Reis Bernstein of Davis, Fla., Jennifer Webb Crowder of Raleigh, and Elizabeth Lyn Hage of Durham. The flower girl was Madeline Lake of Georgetown, Ontario.

The best man was Paul Edward Flick of Cary. Ushers were Kevin Douglas Lake of Georgetown, Ontario, Andrew Donald Branscombe of Toronto, Michael Scott Coutanche of Toronto, James Sanford Jaquith of London, Ontario, and Gregg Alan Coombs of Vancouver, British Columbia. The ringbearer was Cody Michael Brown of Tampa, Fla.

Music during the wedding was provided by harpist Ina Newell. Music at the reception was provided by Staircase.

A reception was held at the Inn at Bingham School.

Following a wedding trip to St. Martin, the couple will reside in Alexandria, Va.

The bride is the daughter of Edward and Kay Rambo of Greenville, S.C. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Law and is an attorney.

The groom is the son of Dr. Larry and Malinda Adams of New Bern. He is also a graduate of UNC-CH's law school and is an attorney.

The maid of honor was Alana Rambo of Charleston, S.C. The bridesmaids were Katherine Adams of Raleigh, Lauren Adams of Charleston, S.C., April Everrette of Washington, D.C., Lisa Dahan of Atlanta, Catherine Hanft of Chapel Hill, and Alexander Byrd of Charlotte. The flower girl was Jessica Weaver.

The groom's father was the best man. The ushers were Scott Rambo of Charlotte, Charles Ashford of Charlotte, David Eckburg of Charlotte, William Wilfong of Wilmington, Heath Byrd of Charlotte, and John Maher of New York City. The ringbearer was Alra Nichol.

A reception was hosted by the bride's parents in the John Sprunt Hill Grand Ballroom in the Carolina Inn.

The couple will reside in San Francisco.

CHAPEL HILL -- Nancy Lenhardt Schafstedde and Jeffrey Brisbin Howden, both of Pittsburgh, were married icon Saturday evening at the Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill. The Rev. Stephen Elkins-Williams officiated, assisted by Father David McBriar, O.F.M., of Durham.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. Schafstedde of Raleigh. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she also received her medical degree. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She is a second-year resident in obstetrics and gynecology at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Eugene F. Howden of Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of Furman University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He received a master's in sports administration from UNC-CH. He is assistant co-ordinator for the athletics department at the University of Pittsburgh.

The matron of honor was Kristie Schafstedde Guptill of Charlotte, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Mollie Schafstedde Waddill and Sara Schafstedde, both of Raleigh, sisters of the bride, and Kimberly Howden of Richmond, Va., sister of the groom. Honorary attendants were Elinor Bradshaw of Nashville, Tenn., Betsy Handler of Greensboro, Ashley Harkrider of Austin, Texas, Christine Johnson of Arlington, Mass., Meredith Lowder of Winston-Salem, Jill Mattocks of Charlotte, Katherine Perot of Dallas, Texas, and Courtney White of Atlanta.

The best man was the groom's father. The groomsmen were Jefferson Baer and James Hamrick, both of Carrboro, and Wesley Collins of Morehead City. The ushers were James Guptill of Charlotte and Edmund Waddill of Raleigh, brothers-in-law of the bride, Allen Baddour of Pittsboro, Jason Gilbert of New York City, Brian Jensen of Chapel Hill, Michael Mann of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Steven Newmark of Charlotte, and Daniel Summerlin of Roanoke, Va.

A wedding reception was held at the Carolina Inn.

Following a trip to Mexico, the couple will reside in Pittsburgh.

The bride is the daughter of Laura and Bob Shrewsbury of Chapel Hill and Roger and Marla Black of Lexington, Ky. She is a gradaute of the University of Kentucky and the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is a minister at Carrboro Baptist Church.

The groom is the son of Hagen and Margarete Burgtorf of Remscheid, Germany. He has a master's from Duesseldorf University in Germany, and is an archivist for the National Academy of Arts and Sciences in Germany. He is also a Ph.D. candidate at Duesseldorf University.

The matron of honor was Lila Rae True of Danville, Ky. The bridesmaids were Carla Blickensderfer of Dallas, Texas, Starlyn Combs of Chapel Hill, Barbara Kelly of Chapel Hill, and Paula Whitley of Chapel Hill.

The best man was Frank Burghoff of Hueckeswagen, Germany. The ushers were Uli Burgtorf of Remscheid, Germany, Jake Parker of Washington, D.C., Jared Parker of Chapel Hill, and Dirk Wengenroth of Remscheid, Germany.

Music was provided by organist Wylie Quinn, soloist Nancy Parker and violinist Chris Lieu.

A reception was held in the Chapel of the Cross reception hall.

The couple took a wedding trip to the North Carolina coast. They will reside in Goettingen, Germany.

The groom is the son of Ernest and Patricia Render of Ozark, Ala. He is a graduate of Troy State University, and is a computer programmer with CSC Health Care.

The couple reside in Hoover.

The matron of honor was Julie McElveen of Greensboro and the maid of honor was Mindy Woolley of Greensboro.

The bridesmaids were Jennifer Heath of Chicago, sister of the bride; Ashlie West of New Bern; Joanna McIlvaine of Greensboro; Summer Jehs of Charlotte; and Anna DeSaix of Chapel Hill.

The flower girl was Ryan Carter of Cary, niece of the groom.

The best man was Cory Robinson of Carthage, Texas, brother of the groom.

The groomsmen were the groom's father, Mat Lenke of Greensboro, Brett Heppler of Greensboro, Derek Mondeau of Boston, Jimmy Dodson of Raleigh, and Jeff Price of Kernersville.

The ringbearer was Colton Carter of Cary, nephew of the groom. Programs were distributed by Chase Carter of Cary, nephew of the groom.

Music was provided by organist Ruby McIlvaine and violinist Christopher Lieu.

A reception hosted by the bride's parents was held at the Lea Center at Greensboro College.

Following a cruise to the western Caribbean, the couple settled in Greensboro.
