Ada Kimel Sigman
Ada Kimel Sigman, 94, died May 4 at Meadowbrook Manor of Clemmons. She was born May 13, 1908, in Forsyth County, to the late John A and Mary Hauser Kimel. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and retired from Hanes Knitting with 40 years service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Barney Sigman.
Surviving are a brother, Claude Kimel; two nieces, Ann Kimel and Mary Mitchell; a nephew, Bob Kimel; and a loving caregiver, Leona Call, all of Winston-Salem.
A graveside service was held at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. James Chatham officiating.

Margaret Vaughn Beshears
Margaret Vaughn Beshears, 80, formerly of Winston-Salem, died at the Clemmons Village on May 8 following a lengthy period of declining health. A native of Forsyth County, she was born November 23, 1922, to the late Grover E. and Maude Solomon Vaughn. She was a member of Ardmore Baptist Church, a volunteer at Forsyth Medical Center and active with Meals on Wheels as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Paul H. Beshears, on August 27, 1990; two brothers; and a sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda B. Blackburn and husband John of Winston-Salem and Karen D. Beshears of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; three grandchildren, Douglas P. Coe, Kimberly C. Brockwell and Kimberly B. Reeves; two great-grandchildren, Jeb Brockwell and Jacob Reeves; and a sister, Ruth Brown of Lewisville.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ty Talton officiating, and burial followed at Forsyth Memorial Park.

Dell H. Weavil
Dell H. “Jo” Weavil, 71, of Clemmons died Thursday, May 8 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 1, 1931, in Forsyth County to Melvin C. and Ella Looney Horton. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was a member of Friedland Moravian Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 35 years, presently with the Enterprise No. 363, and formerly with the Walter C. Kearnes No. 298. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Weavil, in August 2002.
Surviving are a daughter, Joanna “Renee” Weavil of the home; three sons, Andrew Weavil and wife Gaylan of Lexington, Timothy Weavil of Clemmons and Mark Weavil and wife Jackie of Clemmons; a sister, Jean Sapp of Winston-Salem; a brother, James Horton of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Friedland Moravian Church with Rev. Carol Foltz officiating, and burial followed in the church graveyard.

John David Hamilton
John David “J.D.” Hamilton, 85, of Winston-Salem died May 9 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Washington County, Va., May 13, 1917 to John Carl and Margie DeBusk Hamilton. He was devoted to his family and loved the Lord. He was a member of Hanes United Methodist Church and had retired from Hanes Knitting with 45 years of service. he enjoyed gospel singing and had a love for animals.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Lucy Mitchell Hamilton, of the home; two daughters, Betty Lewis and husband Phil Foster, and Cathy Hallford and husband Mike, all of Clemmons; two grandchildren, David Settle and Beth Payne and husband Kevin; and 11 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Hanes United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Lawton and Rev. Don Ashe officiating, and burial followed in Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.

Mary Joanne Hager Perkins
Mary Joanne Hager Perkins, 71, of Clemmons died November 12 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Cornelius, the daughter of the late John Moore Hager and Mary White Hager. She was raised in Kannapolis and served her nation proudly as a member of the original Women’s Army Corps, later moving to the Winston-Salem area. In 1964, she retired from North Carolina Baptist Hospital after 32 years of service, during which she held several positions including director of Central Sterile Supply and manager of Materials Use. For more than 20 years, she was a member of the national organization, American Society for Healthcare Central Service Professionals, a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association (AHA), and for more than 25 years was a member of the North Carolina Association for Hospital Central Service Professionals, holding the positions of president-elect, president, board member, and treasurer. She was a longtime member and elder of Clemmons Presbyterian Church, and also a member of the Metropolitan Community Church of Winston-Salem.
Surviving are her brother, Robert Monroe Hager and wife Perline of Kannapolis; nieces, Linda Hager Webb of Carlsbad, Calif., and Pattie Ann Chapman of Kannapolis; a nephew, Phillip M. Hager, of Nashville, Tenn.; numerous cousins, many devoted friends, and a special friend and companion, Beverly Dunlap of Clemmons.
A memorial service was held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ken Hull and Dr. William Hoyle officiating. A graveside service followed at Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery in Kannapolis.

John Franklin Fulk III
John Franklin Fulk III, 45, of Winston-Salem died November 11 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 23, 1957, in Forsyth County to John F. Fulk Jr. and Shelby Dickey Fulk. He attended Covenant Presbyterian Church. He loved to play golf and especially enjoyed working in his yard.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Fulk of the home; a daughter, Kaylin Fulk of New Braunfels, Texas; his parents of Winston-Salem; his grandmother, Kathleen Agnes Sykes of Lexington; two sisters, Tammy Johnson of Clemmons and Kristina Eddinger and husband Dimey of Winston-Salem; a brother, Terry Fulk and wife Lisa of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Covenant Presbyterian Church with Rev. Kevin Conley, Pastor Cindy Parker and Rev. Tom Bagnal officiating, and burial followed in Parklawn Memorial Park.

Marilyn Lee Nash Cline
Marilyn Lee Nash Cline, 79, of Pfafftown died November 12 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born February 1, 1924, to Lex E. and Emma Hallman Nash in Union County. She was a member of Pfafftown Christian Church for over 60 years, where she was active in the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of Vienna Civic Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wesley Cline; and three brothers, Jack Nash, Joe Nash and Bill Nash.
Surviving are a son, Richard Cline and wife Ann; a daughter, Sherry C. Norris and husband Tom; four grandchildren, Noel Cline, Taylor Cline, Stephanie Norris and Sondra Southard and husband David; three great-grandchildren, Tera, Tyler and Brandon Southard; four sisters, Eileen Traywick, Pat Griffin, Libby Williams and Bobby Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Pfafftown Christian Church with Pastor Tom Everton officiating, and burial followed in Pfafftown Cemetery.

Anna Marie Staub Nicolls
Anna Marie Staub Nicolls, 82, of Mocksville, formerly of Springboro, Pa., and Cambridge Springs, Pa., died November 10 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born August 21, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Adam and Katherine Staub. She was a member of Valley United Methodist Church in Conneautville, Pa., and First United Methodist Church of Mocksville and was a volunteer at the Storehouse for Jesus in Mocksville. She was a valuable longterm employee of City Hospital in Meadville, Pa. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tommy Anne.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Thomas L. Nicolls; her children, Connie C. Weibel of Lewisville and Thomas L. Nicolls Jr. of Jefferson City, Tenn.; a sister, Carol Sue Phelps of Fredericksburg, Va.; her grandchildren, Jason D. Weibel of Pasadena, Calif., and Katherine A. Weibel of Raleigh; a great-grandson, Dylan Thomas D. Weibel; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn Turner Harrold Cleary
Evelyn Turner Harrold Cleary, a resident of Silas Creek Manor for the past year, died November 14 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born July 25, 1922, to the late John Earle and Nora Evans Turner. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William B. Harrold, and her second husband, Walter B. Cleary.
Surviving are a sister, Carolyn Lowry and husband Will of Kernersville; three brothers, Joseph L. Turner and wife Diane of Lewisville, Raymond L. Turner and wife Nancy of Winston-Salem, and Earl Glenn Turner and wife Brenda of Winston-Salem.
A graveside service was held at Woodland Cemetery with Rev. Emmit Lee DeBusk officiating.

Edward Horace Ingram
Edward Horace Ingram, 75, of Lexington died November 10 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born May 4, 1928, in Commerce, Ga., to the late Jesse Coyle and Callie Sorrow Ingram. He was retired from AT&T, with 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean conflict.
Surviving are his wife, Belle Higdon Ingram of the home; two daughters, Maria I. Blackburn and husband Ronnie of Clemmons, and Renee I. Teague and husband Phil of Wallburg; four grandsons, Dylan and Chad Blackburn, and Sean and Zaine Teague; two special nephews, Nathan Haggard and William Ingram; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Ingram and William Ingram officiating.

Blanche Long George
Blanche Long George, 99, of Pfafftown died November 10 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1904, in Forsyth County to Wiley Jacob and Permelia Sprinkle Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred S. George; and three brothers.
Surviving are four children, Nelson George and wife Ann of Germanton, Richard George of Pfafftown, Jack O’Neil George Sr. of King and Frances George of Pfafftown; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel with Rev. Charles Vogler officiating.

Lottie Mae Abbott King
Lottie Mae Abbott King, 89, of Pinnacle, died November 11 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born May 9, 1914, in Stokes County to the late Walter Raleigh Abbott and Elizabeth Stephens Abbott. She was a former supervisor at Lucia and was of the Baptist faith. She attended Pinnacle United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Dewey Abbott.
Surviving are three sons, Steve Priddy and wife Hilda of Clemmons, David Priddy and wife Sue of Walnut Cove, and Jerry Priddy and wife Cindy of King; three daughters, Gayle Gregory and husband Nolan of Mebane, Joyce Watson and husband Charles of Pinnacle, and Rachel Kennedy and husband James of Pinnacle; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Southard of Yadkinville and Doris Goins of East Bend; three brothers, Norman Abbott of Saint Peters, Mo., Walter Abbott of Waynesboro, Va., and Richard Abbott of Clemmons; and three special aunts, Sadie, Beatrice and Annie.
Funeral services were held at Pinnacle United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Earley officiating, and burial followed in the church cemetery.

Ocie Lee Helsabeck Riddle
Ocie Lee Helsabeck Riddle, 94, of Winston-Salem died November 13 at Phillips Health Care Center in Salemtowne. She was born in Forsyth County on Auguat 10, 1909, a daughter of Arthur Aurelius and Julia S. Masencup Helsabeck. She was a member of Mizpah Moravian Church for 24 years, a charter member of their Women’s Fellowship and joined Bethania Moravian Church in 1943. Over the years she was a Sunday-school teacher, a choir member, president of the Women’s Fellowship and a member of Bethania Senior Friends. She was executive director of the Forsyth Cancer Service (Cancer Services, Inc.). She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Franklin Riddle, on June 15, 1991; two sisters, Cleo Helsabeck Watts and Mildred Helsabeck Wall; and a brother, Arthur Alex Helsabeck.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy Riddle Taylor and Carolyn Riddle Marshall and husband Paul, both of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Mary Lee Taylor of Lewisville , Alan Kent Taylor Jr. and wife Arlene of Nevada City, Calif., Teresa Taylor Bodford and husband Wm. Terry of Winston-Salem, and Mark Marshall and wife Christine of Missoula, Mont.; four great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Morgan Bodford and Edward and Carrie Marshall; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth S. Helsabeck; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Bethania Moravian Church with Rt. Rev. Dr. James C. Hughes

Roy Elmer Mackey
Roy Elmer Mackey, 74, of Clemmons, died February 2 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1929, in Streator, Ill., to Roy Glen and Alta Ross Mackey. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was retired from Owens-Illinois Co. with 41 years of service as shipping and receiving supervisor and plant industrial engineer. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donald James Mackey; and his first wife, Lorraine Aberle Mackey.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Newman Mackey of the home; two daughters, Bonnie Taylor and husband Chris of Arcadia and Linnea Shepherd of Winston-Salem; two sons, Adam Mackey of Charlotte and Michael Mackey and wife Sharen of Clemmons; a stepson, Rick Disher and wife Robbie of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Jason and Josh Shepherd, Sarah, Matthew and Katie Taylor and Cam and Bryce Disher; two brothers, Richard Mackey and wife Elsie of Huntington Bay, N.Y., and Bruce Mackey and wife Carole of Long Beach, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Michael Buttner officiating, and burial followed in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Frances Bradley Flora
Frances Bradley Flora, 76, of Winston-Salem died February 7 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born August 10, 1927, in Henry County, Va., to the late William and Edna Bradley. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques and was a marvelous cook and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Flora.
Surviving are a daughter, Susan B. Glendenning and husband Jerry of Olympia, Wash.; a son, Steven W. Flora and wife Debra of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Jennifer Warren of Falls City, Wash., Amanda Kyle of Seattle, Wash., and Carly Flora of Clemmons; two great-grandchildren, Hank and Hannah Warren; and a sister, Nell Bieber of Lutz, Fla.
A graveside service was held at Parklawn Memorial Park with Dr. Charles Edwards officiating.

Sandra Bailey Watson
Sandra Bailey Watson, 65, of Fairfield Glade, Tenn. died February 5 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was the firstborn child of John Spencer and Ruby Collins Bailey on August 11, 1938, in Forsyth County. She had a special love for God, family and friends. Her fun-loving and caring spirit touched so many, and she was very devoted to her family and love of Christ.
Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Wilson W. Watson of Fairfield Glade; two daughters, Angela Watson Hutchins and husband Mark and Michelle Watson Christie and husband Alton, both of Winston-Salem; two stepdaughters, Joann Wood and family of Clemmons, and Janet Watson and family of Raleigh; two granddaughters, Dakota Gray Hutchins and Madalyn Grace Christie of Winston-Salem; her mother, Ruby Collins Bailey of Winston-Salem; and two sisters, Beverly K. Brewer and family and F. Eileen Bailey of Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services were held at Parkway Presbyterian Church with Dr. Dan Wilkers and Father Dan Whitman officiating, and burial followed at Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Vickie Jaro Shoemaker
Vickie Jaro Shoemaker, 52, of Winston-Salem died February 4 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 26, 1951, in Winston-Salem, the daughter of Bernice Johnson Jaro and the late Herbert C. Jaro.
Surviving are her son, Gary Shoemaker of Clemmons; two grandchildren, Blake and Brady Shoemaker; a brother, Herbert C. Jaro and wife Faye; a nephew, Alex, all of Summerfield; a niece, Wendy Burchette and husband Jon of Brown Summit; and two great-nieces, Ava and Cloe Burchette.
A cryptside service was held at Forsyth Memorial Park.

Leroy Edward Dull
Leroy Edward Dull, 75, of Winston-Salem died February 7 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth County to the late Richard H. and Alma Boyer Dull. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Warners Chapel and retired from R.J. Reynolds as a maintenance supervisor. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and also loved to farm and fish.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen, of the home; a daughter, Gaye Dull Carothers and husband William of Clemmons; a son, Rick Dull and wife Susan of Seneca, S.C.; four grandchildren, Ben and Anna Carothers and Teodora and Monica Dull; three sisters, Mary Norman, Louise Miller and husband Albert and Nancy Cook and husband Larry; and a brother, James Dull and wife Judy.
Funeral services were held at Church of Christ at Warners Chapel, and burial followed at the church cemetery.

Paul Arnette France
Paul Arnette France, 70, of Pfafftown died January 27 at the Winston-Salem Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
A graveside service was held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Pastor Stephan Jordan officiating.

Dorothy Phillips Shelton
Dorothy Phillips Shelton, 75, of Lewisville died February 3 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 14, 1928, in Forsyth County to Clyde H. and Laura Sheets Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas; her son, Dallas Cleveland Shelton Jr.; and four brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Gene Shelton and wife Lucia of Winston-Salem and Allen Shelton of Lewisville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Clyde Phillips Jr.; and three sisters, Mozelle Slater, Juanita Taylor and Barbara Dorse.
A graveside service was held at Pfafftown Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Hamann officiating.
