Elmer Elwood Miller age 62, of Lansing, NC died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Miller was born December 27, 1949 in Ashe County to Burl and Ethel Clark Miller.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Danny Miller & Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Pond Mountain cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.

William David Bare
Mr. William David Bare age 51, of West Jefferson, NC died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bare was born December 21, 1959 in Ashe County, to William Roger and Mary Edwards Bare. Mr. Bare was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Bare worked along side his father in the home moving business. David drove a truck for a few years and also worked on computers.
Funeral services will be private.

Jimmy Lum Dancy
Mr. Jimmy Lum Dancy age 71, of Glendale Springs, NC died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. Mr. Dancy was born December 17, 1939 in Ashe County, NC to Dennis and Johnsie Miller Dancy. Mr. Dancy was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Dancy attended Glendale Springs Presbyterian Church where he was very active. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. After retiring from J. R. Vannoy & Sons Construction he remained very active.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Charles McCoy & Rev. Russell Sheets. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.

Christopher Shane Bare
Mr. Christopher Shane Bare age 44, of Wilkesboro, NC died Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Bare was born December 20, 1966 in Ashe County to Wade Hampton and Nina Bare. Mr. Bare was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Bare loved to work on the farm.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Elder James McNeill and Pastor Troy Randolph.. Burial will follow in Riverview Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.

Adell Eldreth Carter
Mrs. Adell Eldreth Carter age 91, of Lansing, NC died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Carter was born on April 27, 1919 in Ashe County to Arthur and Lila Sheets Eldreth. In addition to her parents Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Carter, two sons, Paul Carter, Danny Carter, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was a member for 64 years of Pond Mountain Primitive Baptist Church. Cooking Sunday meals and holiday meals for her family and spending time with them was one of her great joys. She was a loving person; she never meet a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Elder Eddie Lyalls, Rev. Billy Joe Blevins, Rev. Julian Owens and Rev. Lloyd Day. Burial will follow in Perry cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Badger Funeral Home.

Emmett Killingsworth
Mr. Emmett Darrell Killingsworth age 78, of Zionville, NC died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at his home. Mr. Killingsworth was born on April 20, 1932 to the late William Fisher and Lydia Ruth Jenkins Killingsworth. In addition to his parents Mr. Killingsworth was preceded in death by sister, Cynthia Marie Killingsworth and a younger brother. Mr. Killingsworth served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Belgrade United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school and sang in the choir.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday February 23, 2011 at the Plymouth Church in Raleigh, NC by Rev. Chris Partin.

J. R. Jones
Mr. J. R. Jones age 80, of Creston, NC died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Watauga Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born August 26, 1930 in Ashe County to the late Ralston and Verda Allen Jones. In addition to his parents Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his brother, Farris Jones. Mr. Jones retired from Burlington Industries and also worked at Tweetsie Railroad. He enjoyed playing pool and was an avid racecar fan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Tommy Worth. Burial will follow in Jones-Lewis cemetery.

Mary Lee Lewis
Mrs. Mary L. Woodard Lewis age 78, of Creston, NC died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Lewis was born November 16, 1932 in Ashe County, to the late Roy and Ollie Eastridge Woodard. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her ex husband, Wade Lewis and brothers: Royce & R. C. Woodard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:30 AM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Mike Farmer. Burial will follow in Baugess cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service.

Cleda Faye Barker Mullis Wilcox
Mrs. Cleda Faye Barker Mullis Wilcox age 71, of West Jefferson, NC went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Wilcox was born on May 16, 1939 in Ashe County, NC to Thomas C. and Ruby Neaves Barker. In addition to her parents Mrs. Wilcox was preceded in death by Son, James Randall Mullis, Husband, James David Mullis Sr. Mrs. Wilcox was a member of Shelter Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer. Mr. Wilcox worked as secretary at Jefferson Elementary, Ashe County Board of Education and at Mountain View Elementary School where she later retired. She loved to read and spend time with her family where she always made sure everyone was always well taken care of.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Chris Goodman. Burial will follow in Scott-Blevins cemetery.
