FERRIS R. BLACKWOOD
SOUTHERN PINES -- Mr. Ferris Reed Blackwood of Southern Pines died Wednesday, October 6, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Grace Blackwood, of the home; two daughters, Laurie Blackwood Foot of Hendersonville, NC and Robin Blackwood Branson of Whispering Pines, NC; and one granddaughter.
Arrangements are by Powell Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorials may be made to a charity of ones own choice.
CARL E. BONEWALD
ATASCOCITA, TX -- Carl E. Bonewald, formerly of Archer Lodge passed away Monday October 4, 1999 at the age of 71. He retired from Clayton High School in 1996 where he was a Bus Driver and Janitor. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran.
Loving husband of the late Elfriede Bonewald.
Wonderful father of Carl H. Bonewald, Heidi Smith and Gloria Bonewald; beloved father-in-law of Stricker Smith and Debra Bonewald; adored grandfather of Sean, Victoria, Jason, Kristen and Elizabeth. He is also survived by his mother, Lottie; sisters, Dorothy and Veronica; brother, Fritz.
A small grave site service will be held at Knollwood Memorial Park, U.S. 70 East, Clayton NC on Saturday October 9, 1999 at 2 p.m.
ORA "LEE" BYRD
FRANKLINTON -- Ora "Lee" Byrd, 71, of 239 Beechwood Drive, died Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at her home.
She was born in Lowndes County, GA, and was the daughter of the late Ellie L. and Verdie Carter Goolsby. She was a retired bookkeeper and was a member and treasurer of the Church of The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Women.
A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock, Friday afternoon, October 8, 1999 at the Church of The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 125 Hillsborough St. Raleigh, with Rev. Dr. Robert Sawyer officiating.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by her husband, Hubert Byrd; daughter, Mary Ann West of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; sons, Hubert J. Byrd Jr of Kennesaw, GA, Arthur L. Byrd of Dublin, OH and Christopher W. Byrd of Reston, VA; sisters, Dolly Browning of Valdosta, GA and Verna Farmer of Stone Mountain, GA; brother, Fred L. Goolsby of Albany, GA; 10 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hurricane Floyd Relief Fund, P.O. Box 28024, Raleigh, NC 27611.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

NEIL CROWSON CAMERON
RALEIGH -- Neil Crowson Cameron, 87, formerly of Asheville, passed away at Stewart Health Center at Springmoor on Monday, October 4, 1999.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Coleman Cameron. Mr. Cameron had a lifetime career with CP&L for over 40 years and was a member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
Mr. Cameron is survived by daughters, Anne Carney of Maryland, Susan Brown of California; sisters, Lois Hall of Laurinburg, Louise Boney of Virginia; grandchildren, Kevin and Brandon Carney, both of Maryland.
A memorial service is scheduled at Springmoor Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon at Lewis Memorial Park in Asheville. Please call 828-4311 for time of service.

VIRGINIA F. COX
GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Virginia Frazier Cox, died in Greensboro, Oct. 6, 1999. Services will be at Hanes-Lineberry, 1900 Vanstory Street, Greensboro on Oct. 9, 1999 at 11 a.m.
Survivors include: husband; two sons; one daughter; sister, Lois E. Frazier of Raleigh; brother, Joseph R. Frazier of Pleasant Garden.
ANNIE SHEA EATON
ATLANTA, GA -- Annie McMillan Shea Eaton of Atlanta died Monday, October 4, 1999.
Born in Dover, Ohio, on November 8, 1948, Annie attended Ravenscroft School, Broughton High School, Vardell Womens College and the University of South Carolina. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Thomas Eaton of Atlanta; sons, Thomas Henry Campbell IV and James McMillan Shea Campbell IV, both of Atlanta; stepdaughters, Katherine Theres Eaton and Veronique Elizabeth Eaton, both of Belgium; parents, Judge and Mrs. James B. Shea, Jr., of Raleigh; brother and sister-in-law, James B. Shea III and Jennifer Fisher Shea of Culver, Indiana.
A funeral service and interment will be held at noon on Friday, October 8, at Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends after the service in the church parlor. A memorial service will be held at the Cathedral of St. Philip Episcopal Church in Atlanta at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to either The Hurricane Relief Fund, Christ Episcopal Church, PO Box 25778, Raleigh, NC 27611 or to N.C. Veterinary Medical Foundation, Displaced Animal Relief, N.C. State College of Veterinary Medicine, Campus Box 8401, Raleigh, NC 27695-8401.
BRAD E. HATCHER
RALEIGH -- Mr. Brad Edward Hatcher, 29, of 2800-C Smallwood Drive, died October 4, 1999 at Wake Medical Center. Brad was a native of Gastonia having graduated from Ashbrook High School, Class of 1989 and a graduate of N.C. State University, Raleigh, NC, Class of 1995. He was a member of Sigma Chi Delta Epsilon. He was a member of Myers Memorial United Methodist Church, Gastonia, and was employed in Sales by Lou Pucillo at MBC-United, Raleigh.
Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Parker and Martha Nixon Hatcher, and his step-grandfather, A.C. Leonard.
Survivors include his mother, Jane Lovette Leonard and stepfather, Bob Leonard of Belmont, NC; father, Parker L. Hatcher and stepmother, Susan J. Hatcher of Gastonia; sister, Heather N. Griffin of Gastonia; brother, Ian B. Leonard of Belmont; grandparents, Edward and Dapathana Lewis Lovette of Burlington, NC; step-grandmother, Callie Leonard of East Bend, NC.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 8, 1999, 2 p.m. at Myers Memorial United Methodist Church, Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Andy Raines and Rev. M.O. Owens. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC.
The family will receive friends at Carothers Funeral Home, Belmont, Thursday evening, 7-8:30 p.m., and at other times the residence, 781 Eagle Road, Belmont, NC.
Memorials may be made to McAdenville Baptist Church, "Music Fund," Lowell-McAdenville Road, McAdenville, NC 28101.
Pallbearers will be Haze Lancaster, Doug Corwin, Brooks Penn, Blake Frazier, Geoffrey Wallwork and Scott Lowery.

LEHMAN ILER
RALEIGH -- Lehman Iler, 85, died Wednesday, October 6, 1999 at Rex Hospital. Mr. Iler was born April 25, 1914 in Bullock County, Georgia to Mary Ann Denmark and John Daniel Iler. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served with the 263rd Medical Battalion in New Guinea, the Philippine Islands, and Japan. He retired from Reynolds Metals Company in 1975. Mr. Iler was a member of the Everette Miller Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church, Raleigh.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Sarah Roberts Iler of Raleigh; two sons, John Lehman Iler of Raleigh and Lewis Raymond Iler and his wife Mendy of Morrisville; two daughters, Mary Roberts Iler of Raleigh and Nancy Iler Evans and her husband Rocky of Tega Cay, SC; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Minnie Bowen and Eleanor F. Baxter of Savannah, GA.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 8, 1999 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 7, and other times at the home.

MRS. ANNA K. JONES
LILLINGTON -- Mrs. Anna K. Jones, 72, a native of Germany, died at Good Hope Hospital in Erwin on Monday, Oct 4, 1999.
Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday, O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel, with Rev. Mark Morris officiating. Burial, Westview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, O'Quinn Peebles Funeral Home.
Survivors: husband, Earl D. Jones of the home; daughters, Margaret Sandrock of Lillington, Rose Sikorski of Wilmington, Ohio; son, Jerry Jones of Austin, Texas; sister, Martha Krause of Germany; three grandchildren.
BLANCHE JONES
CONCORD -- Mrs. Mary Blanche Dunlowe Jones, 73, of 7050 Empire Dr., Mt. Pleasant, NC, died at her home Tuesday afternoon. Funeral 11 a.m. Friday at First Assembly Worship Center. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Tom Whidden, Dr. Charles Kelly, Dr. Charles Cookman, Rev. Sandra Bass officiating.
The family will receive friends, Thursday 5-8 p.m. at First Assembly Worship Center and at the home the remaining time.
She was a homemaker and born September 8, 1926, Windsor, NC to the late Charlie and Mary Dunlowe Dunlowe.
Surviving: husband, Rev. Fenton L. Jones, Pastor of Senior Adult Ministries at First Assembly; two daughters, Mrs. Connie J. Altman of Sanford, Mrs. Marvel J. Pope of Kannapolis; one son, Rev. Forest Jones of Reidsville, NC; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Harrell of Ahoskie, NC; eight grandchildren, Ashley Altman, Britton Altman, Dara Pope, Tori Pope, Benjamin Jones, Bethany Jones, Melissa Crane, Michael Crane; three great-grandchildren, Madison Crane, Noah Crane, Caroline Edwards.

CECIL R. "BILL" LANGLEY
ROCKY MOUNT -- C.R. "Bill" Langley, died October 5, 1999 after an extended illness. He was born December 8, 1923 in Nash County, son of the late John William Langley and Doxie Joyner Langley.
He will live in the hearts of his survivors forever, which include: wife, Geraldine Brantley Langley; daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Robert Taylor and Iris and Tommy Cannon; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Debbie Langley, Mike and Mary Langley, Gary and Angie Langley; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, William Langley of Rocky Mount, Wallace Langley of Sandy Cross; sister, Maggie Joyner of Wilson.
He was a life long resident of Nash County and Rocky Mount, serving the contracting industry with great pride and energy as an owner of Brantley-Langley Contractors, Inc. and a partner in Clark-Langley Contractors, Inc., plus numerous other investments. He retired from both by 1980 to spend time traveling and enjoying life to its fullest. He will be fondly remembered as a man of integrity who never knew a stranger.
He was a member of the Corinthian Masonic Lodge #230 and a life long member of the Rocky Mount Shrine Club where he spent many enjoyable hours with friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home with the Reverends Chet Rains and Hardwick Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday and other times at the home, 3848 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount.

M. GERALDINE LUNDQUIST
RALEIGH -- M. Geraldine "Jerry" Lundquist, Raleigh, October 1, 1999.
She was a retired Rex ER nurse and an avid R.W.B.A bowler.
