MARY C. CREECH
WAKE FOREST - Mary Chaney Creech, age 56, of 113 Robin Avenue, Atlantic Beach, died early Saturday morning, January 2, 1999 at the home of her son Mark S. Creech, 4810 Mitchell Mill Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Mary had worked for many years at ITT in Raleigh and was the owner of Small Wonders and Mom Clothing Store in Havelock.
Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 1999 at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church in Atlantic Beach.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 9, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. at Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, 201 East Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach.
Surviving: daughter, Iva Lynn Creech and Donna M. White of Wendell; sons, Mark Sterling Creech and his wife Lola Creech of Wake Forest, Christopher Joe Creech of Apex; sisters, Sandra C. Norris of Newport, NC, Martha C. Donath of Sturgis, SD; brothers, James Chaney of Tabor City, Larry Chaney of Silsbee, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Creech, Lindsey Erin Creech.

BRIAN R. MILLER
RALEIGH - Brian Ray Miller, 12, of 1604 Briarwood Place, died Wednesday, January 6, 1999.
Brian was a student at Wake Forest-Rolesville Middle School. In his life, Brian enjoyed soccer and swimming representing the Manchester Soccer Team and ManchesterSwim Team. Brian was a Boy Scout in Troop 306 and was a member of the Beta Club.
Brian will be remembered as being full of life and a real outdoors kid. He loved being with his friends and family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, jet skiing, rollerblading and skateboarding. Brian is loved and will be missed by so many. Life will never be the same.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Bill and Diane Miller; paternal grandmother, Jean A. Miller and maternal grandmother, Charlotte V. Ray; uncles and aunts, Christopher and Carol Pryer, Marshall and Cheryl Ray, and cousins, all of Fayetteville.
Brian and his brother, Scott are reunited with their Lord in everlasting peace.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 1999 at North Raleigh United Methodist Church. Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Galatia Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fayetteville.
The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road (876-6900) from 6-9 p.m. on Friday.

RUTH JORDAN WEBB
RALEIGH - Ruth Pittman Jordan Webb, 83, of Raleigh, died Wednesday, January 6, 1999.
Mrs. Webb is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charlie Judson Jordan Jr.; five sisters and three brothers.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, St. Mary's St. Entombment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Webb is survived by her daughter, Charlene Jordan of Raleigh; husband, William Bickett Webb; 11 nieces and nephews; 11 grand-nieces and nephews; four great-grand-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, St. Mary's St.

WILLIAM THOMAS WILSON SR.
APEX - Mr. William Thomas Wilson, Sr., 93, of 2712 Evans Road, died Wednesday, January 6 at Western Wake Medical Center. Mr. Wilson was a native of Wake County and a member of Christian Chapel United Church of Christ, Apex. He was a retired educator with the Wake County Public School System. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 1999 at Christian Chapel UCC, Apex. the Reverend David A. Dolby officiating. Visitation 1:30 p.m. at the church.
He is survived by his daughter, Delores W. Curtis of the home; sons, William T. Wilson Jr. of Sanford, James E. Wilson Sr. of Concord; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Christian Chapel UCC Building Fund.

NATHAN R. ADAMS
SMITHFIELD - Nathan Russell Adams, 73, died Thursday, January 7 at his home. His parents were Sidney W. Adams and Mattie Cox Adams.
He is survived by is wife, Mary Ann Adams; his sons, Nathan Russell Adams Jr. and his wife, Jane of Smithfield, Robert Alexander Adams and his wife, Sandra of Midlothian, Va.; his daughter, Mary Cynthia Adams Satterfield and her husband, Grey of Smithfield; his sisters, Mabel Adams Wellons of Newport, Elizabeth Adams Hackmeyer and her husband, John of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren are Deanna Adams Thomas, Nathan Russell Adams III, Lisa Renee Adams, Robert Alexander Adams Jr., Cydney Alexandra Satterfield, David G. (Tripp) Satterfield III. He was preceded by siblings, S. Wilford Adams, David W. Adams, Nellie G. Adams Foster, Marvin W. Adams and Charles W. Adams.
Family will receive friends and relatives Friday, January 8, at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton from 7-8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Elizabeth United Methodist Church.

RUTH S. CANNON
PINEHURST - Ruth Stovall Cannon, 87, died Wednesday in Southern Pines at the St. Joseph of the Pines Health Care Facilities after a long illness. She was born in Granville County to the late Charles Allen and Annie Baird Stovall. Mrs. Cannon was wife of the late Lewis S. Cannon, the longtime superintendent of the Pinehurst City Schools. She was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, 1933 graduate of the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, and continued her education with Graduate Studies at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Mrs. Cannon was a former secretary of the Pinehurst City Schools as well as former Dean of women at Vardell Hall Academy and Avon Park Academy. She was a member and former officer of the Gamma Sigma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. She had also served as a former secretary to the Pinehurst Library. Mrs. Cannon was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Pinehurst. Cannon Park, also in Pinehurst, was named for Mr. and Mrs. Lewis S. Cannon.
Surviving Mrs. Cannon is one brother, Sidney Thomas Stovall of Greer, South Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will he held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 1999, in the Virgilina Cemetery, Virgilina, Va., with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Brooks & White Funeral Home of Roxboro is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Health Hospice, 5 Aviemore Drive, Pinehurst, N.C. 28370.

SPRING HOPE - Linnie Mullen Davis, 93, of 1358 Tant Road, died Thursday, January 7, 1999 at Wake Medical Center.
Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 1999 at Rocky Cross Holiness Church, Zebulon. Burial, church cemetery.
Surviving: daughters, Frances M. Strickland of Napoauch, NY, Carolyn M. Pace of Raleigh, Cornelia M. Terry of the home; sons, Eddie C. Massey of Spring Hope, Tommy O. Massey of Spring Hope; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by the father of her children, Eddie C. Massey in 1937, by husband, Lloyd W. Davis and by her daughter, Wilma M. Spivey in 1995.

SHELTON "PEE WEE" DENTON
SPRING HOPE - Shelton "Pee Wee" Denton, 51, died Wednesday, January 6, 1999. He was born February 12, 1947 and a Lineman with the City of Wilson for 25 years.
Graveside service 2 p.m. Saturday in Bailey Cemetery by the Rev. William Dilda.
Surviving: son, Shelton Ray Denton of Spring Hope; sisters, Lucille Burgess of Rocky Mount, Katie Savage and Emma Dilda, both of Tarboro; former wife, Brenda Denton; special friend, Maxine Moore.
Visitation from 7-9 p.m. Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 U.S. 264 West; other times the family will be at 5547 Southern Nash High Road.

LOUISE M. FARROW
CONWAY - Mrs. Louise Martin Farrow, 70, of Route 2, Conway, N.C, died January 6, 1999 at Halifax Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Farrow was a native of Cookeville, Tenn. The daughter of the late John and Lura Petty Martin. She was preceded in death also by her husband, Richard Gilbert Farrow. She was a member of Faison Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her son, Richard Farrow and his wife, Judy of Conway; four daughters, Sandra Brown and her husband, Robert of Roanoke Rapids, Geraldine Farrow and Paul Wernock of Hatteras, Linda F. Bush and her husband, Clarence of Murfreesboro, Barbara Byrd and her husband, Charles of Conway; sister, Mildred M. Frazier of Cookeville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 1999 at Faison's Assembly of God Church by Rev. David Miller. Burial will follow at the family Cemetery, Route 2, Conway, N.C.
The family will receive friends at Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999 from 7-8:30 p.m.; other times at the home of Mrs. Farrow.

MARY FERRELL
RALEIGH - Mary Ferrell, 62, died Wednesday, January 6 at her residence after a long illness. Mrs. Ferrell was a long time resident of Raleigh and member of Ebenezer Community Baptist Church and Daughters of America.
Surviving are her mother, Marzella Strickland Pike of Rocky Mount; husband of 45 years, John Ferrell; daughters, Susan and husband, Danny Dean of Raleigh, Frances Ferrell of Franklinton, Patricia and husband, Zeb Overton of Raleigh; brother, Marvin Pike of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Pike.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 9th at Ebenezer Community Baptist Church, 7808 Ebenezer Church Road and will be officiated by Rev. Thomas Duke. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Friday from 7-9 p.m.

LUTHER FINN JR.
FRANKLINTON - Luther Finn Jr., 57, of 92 Gordon Moore Road, died Thursday, January 7, 1999 at Duke University Hospital. He was born in Franklin County; was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from IBM.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 9, 1999 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Fisher and the Rev. David Averette officiating.
Mr. Finn is survived by his wife, Patricia S. Finn; daughter, Dane' Fields of Los Angeles, Ca., Michelle Johnson of Franklinton; son, Troy Finn of Granville County; parents, Sallie and Luther Finn Sr. of Youngsville; sister, Patricia Jackson of Youngsville; brothers, Walter Horace Finn of Franklinton, John Finn of Louisburg, Ernest "Mickey" Finn of Youngsville; grandsons, Terrell Johnson III, William Christopher Finn and Gabriel Fields.

WILSON - Arnold Leland Formo Sr., 97, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998.
He was born June 14, 1901. He was former owner of Collapsible Container Company and a member of St. Lous Park, Mn. Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites, Wilson County Shrine Club, Sudan Shriner and First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral was held 2 p.m. Sat., 1/2/99 at Joyner's Funeral Home by the Rev. James H. McKinnon and Rev. Mindy Douglas Adams.
Burial, Maplewood Cemetery.
