Flossie Nettle, 82, of Pinetops died Friday, March 21, 2008 at Heritage Hospital in Tarboro.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pines Chapel Missionary
Baptist Church, in Pinetops, with the Rev. Johnny Johnson. Burial will follow at Carver Park Cemetery.
A wake will be from 7-8 p.m. Friday at Hemby-Willoughby Mortuary in Tarboro.

JOHN R. PITT JR.
John Rufus Pitt Jr., 48, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James Lindsey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery, near Farmville.
Pitt is survived by his mother, Irene Pitt of Pinetops; four sisters, Annie Pitt of Philadelphia, Pa., Christine Lyons and Delores Ann Pitt, both of Pinetops, and Sandra Edwards of Washington, D.C.; and one brother, Elvis Pitt of Raleigh.
A wake will be 7-8 p.m. Friday at the church.

ELMA DEAN EDWARDS
Elma Dean Edwards, 64, of Tarboro, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Weeping Mary Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Glascoe Mercer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Council Cemetery near Bethel.
She was the daughter of the late Fred D. Edwards and the late Cloetea Council Edwards.
Ms. Edwards is survived by three sisters, Jennie E. Thomas and Shirley Mae Edwards, both of Tarboro, and Barbara A. Edwards of Greenville; and one brother Fred D. Edwards Jr. of Washington, D.C.
A viewing will be held from 2-7 p.m. Friday at Dickens Funeral Service.

MAUDE MAXINE GATTIS PITTMAN
Maude Maxine Gattis Pittman, 72, of Temperance Hall, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pittman was born in Halifax County to Clifford and Mattie Bland Gattis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 17-year-old grandson Jonathan Paul Cruse; two sisters Elizabeth Mason and Nora Lee Pittman and brother Clifford "Little Buddy" Gattis, Jr.
Mrs. Pittman is survived by her husband of 55 years Henry Fitzhugh Pittman; two sons, Glenn Pittman and wife Jean of Tarboro and Mike Pittman of Dortches; three daughters, Linda Barber and husband Marlin of Tarboro, Brenda Cruse and friend Nelson Vinson of Rocky Mount and Rita Wadsworth of Pinetops; nine grandchildren James Barber and wife Heather, Krystle Cruse, Lynn White, Christa Pittman, Chad and Brent Pittman, Heather Pittman, Samantha and Steven Wadsworth; five great-grandchildren David and Kailee White, "Little" T3ed Pittman, Dylan Webb and Rehanna; three sisters, Virginia Williamson, Helen Hushour and Ruby Askew, all of Sulfork, Va.; three brothers, Dale Sandefur of North Carolina, Robert Earl Gattis of Norfolk, Va., and George Gattis of Tenn.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home, 61 Allerton Lane in Temperance Hall.

FRANKLIN R. BOYETTE
Franklin Ray Boyette, 60, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, after a brave fight with lung cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Whitehurst officiating.
Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Mr. Boyette was the son of the late Fred and Marjorie Boyette of Speed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Ann Lewis Boyette; two sons, Anthony Ray Boyette and wife, Tammy, of Winterville and Fredrick Chad Boyette and wife, Wendy, of Elm City; three brothers, Thomas Leighton Boyette and Walter Wade Boyette, both of Tarboro, and Terry Lynn Boyette of Speed; and two granddaughters, Amy and Sarah Kate Boyette of Tarboro.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. tonight at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home, 4850 Howard Ave. Extension, Tarboro
