BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Catherine Farmer, 69, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Anderson Chapel Church Cemetery.
A viewing will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Hemby-Willoughy Mortuary in Tarboro.

Phillip R. Smith, 45, of Pinetops, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008.

KENNETH A. COOPER
Kenneth A. Cooper, 60, of Scotland Neck died Monday, May 26, 2008.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. today at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck. Bruce Harris presided.
The family received friends immediately following the service at the home of Kenneth and Mary Gail Cooper at 40 Stallion Drive in Scotland Neck.

VIVIAN WELLS ABRAMS
Vivian Wells Abrams, 83, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Carlisle Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Abrams Family Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters; Betty Parker and Evelyn Braswell, both of Rocky Mount, and Martha Barnette of Charlotte; one son; James Roy Abrams of Pinetops; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home at 103 S. Vann St. in Pinetops.

Fred Shields, 79, of Scotland Neck, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 at Our Community Hospital in Scotland Neck.

Paulette Ann Sanders, 45, of Greenville, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Burial will be in Homestead Memorial Gardens in Greenville.

DELLA ROSE LEE STATON
Della Rose Lee Staton, 79, of the Battleboro community, died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 at Tarboro Nursing Center in Tarboro.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Tarboro with the Elder Robert Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
A viewing will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Hemby-Willoughby Mortuary in Tarboro.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Staton Jr. of Rocky Mount; five daughters, Mary Herring of the home, Iris Weeks and Linda White, both of Raleigh, Sylvia Dudley and Hope Phillips, both of Rocky Mount; a sister Lillie Redmonds of Waldorf, Md.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

CHARLES A. POE JR.
RALEIGH -- Elizabeth Shigley Poe, 86, died Monday at the Stewart Health Center.
She was born in Fremont, Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Ora Monroe Shigley, and graduated from Michigan State University.
She taught school in Michigan for five years before coming to Raleigh, where she was active in the Junior League and many other organizations and clubs.
Her husband, Charles A. Poe died in 1994.
Her only sibling her brother Monroe, passed away just two weeks ago.
Surviving are three children, Betsy Sharp of Boulder, CO, Mary Twitchell and husband, James of Gainesville, FL, Charles Poe, Jr. and wife, Patricia of Raleigh. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Tracy Sharp Clement, Suzy Sharp, Mike Sharp, Kate Twitchell, Elizabeth Twitchell, Toby Poe and Hamilton Poe; one great-grandson, Travis Clement; two sisters-in-law, Mary Graham Shigley and Rosalie Richardson Poe; seven nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the home of her son at 3033 Granville Drive.
The funeral service will be at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial, Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Alice Aycock Poe Health Center for Education, 224 Sunnybrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27620 or Exploris Museum, 201 E. Hargett Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.
