Mrs. Laura Stanley Little
GREENSBORO—Mrs. Laura Stanley Little, 91, of Presbyterian Home, died Sunday, December 7, 2003 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mrs. Stanley was a native of Rocky Mount and had resided in Greensboro since 1937. She was a member of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and also a member of the Faselo Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, one son, Zeb Little and her husband, James Bunyan Little in 1988.
Survivors include three children, Cecil S. Little and wife Pat of Jamestown, Laura S. Little of Tucson, AZ and David W. Little of Washington, DC; two sisters, Mae Barnett and Sue Taylor, both of Charlotte; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Monday, December 8, 2003 at Forbis & Dick Funeral Service, North Elm Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Mrs. Ora Hudson Sharp
Mrs. Ora Hudson Sharp of Greensboro died Saturday, December 6, 2003 at her residence.
Transferred to Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, AL.

Mrs. Roella Smith Whitaker
Mrs. Roella Smith Whitaker, 91, formerly of 1326 Pleasant Ridge Road died Sunday, December 7, 2003 at Westchester Manor.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at Shining Light Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitaker was a life-long resident of Guilford County and enjoyed her life as a farmer and homemaker. She was a faithful member of Shining Light Baptist Church. She loved to work in her garden and on her farm, but her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law and friend, Mrs. Jo Smith of Greensboro; two granddaughters, Debbie Cline and husband Norm of Kernersville and Sandy Vernon and husband Greg of Stokesdale; one great-grandson, the apple of her eye, Stephen Cline, she was predeceased by her beloved son Henry Clay Smith twelve years ago.
The family will receive friends from 7-9pm tonight at Forbis and Dick Funeral Service, Guilford Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shining Light Baptist Church, 4530 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409.

Mr. Willard Junior "Bill" Smith
Mr. Willard Junior "Bill" Smith of Stoneville died Monday, December 8, 2003 at Martinsville Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at Ray Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. Interment will follow in Christian View Christian Church Cemetery in Stoneville.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Irene Washburn Cobb
GREENSBORO – Irene Washburn Cobb 82, of Oakdale Heights, died on Wednesday December 10, 2003 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be held for Mrs. Cobb at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 13, 2003 in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Reidsville.
Mrs. Cobb was born on February 5, 1921 in Reidsville NC. She lived in Tampa FL for forty years where she was a dedicated nurse, and a faithful volunteer for both the Red Cross and Tampa Hospital. She returned to the Greensboro area five years ago.
Irene is survived by her two brothers Eugene B. Washburn and wife Shirley of Greensboro, and Julius R. Washburn and wife Dorothy of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Carlos Cobb and brother Lewis Edward Washburn Jr.
The family will greet friends following the graveside service on Saturday.

Mr. Robert "Ted" Davison
Mr. Robert “Ted” Davison 73, of 1712 Three Meadows Road died Thursday, January 08, 2004 at Beacon Place of Hospice.
A Celebration of Life for Friends will be held at Ted’s home on Saturday January 17, 2004 from 1 – 3 PM.
Ted Davison was born in Tampa, Florida on December 3, 1930 to the late Robert and Ouida Duke Davison. He was retired from AT &T Federal Systems as an illustrator and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his daughter Deirdre Davison and her husband, Richard Latta of Tega Cay, SC; and a step-son Robert Brandon of Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.

Mr. William Warren
Mr. William Warren of Abbotswood at Irving Park died Thursday, January 8, 2004.
Funeral services for Mr. Warren will be held at 1:00 o'clock Sunday, January 10, 2004 at the Chapel of Patterson & Son, Spring Hill and Tenth Street in Atlanta, GA. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Park. A Memorial service will be held at Temple Emanuel at 5:45PM on Jefferson Road on Tuesday, January 13, 2004.
Mr. Warren was a career attorney with the Federal Government. He retired in 1972.
He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Joyce W. Wainer and husband, Dr. Howard Wainer; grandson, Dr. Robert Wainer and wife, Kim; two sisters, Nettie Rifas of Miami Beach and Claire Felson of Jacksonville, FLA; granddaughters, Lisa and Cathy Wainer and three great granddaughters, Ashley, Jayme and Annie Wainer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bach and his daughter, Loretta Warren.
The family is being served by Forbis & Dick, North Elm Chapel.

Mr. Donald Ward of Greensboro died Friday, January 9, 2004 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 12, 2004 at the Chapel at J.C. Green Funeral Home in Thomasville. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00PM Saturday evening at Forbis & Dick, Guilford Chapel and from 6:00 - 8:00PM Sunday evening at J.C. Green Funeral Home.
Survivors include his children, Roger Ward of Greensboro and Vicki Frey of Kennssaw, GA; sister, Jackie Yost of Treasure Island, FL and grandchildren, Katie and Lathan Ward.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 14, 2004 IN THE CHAPEL OF THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF GREENSBORO.
THE FAMILY WILL RECEICE FRIENDS FOLLOWING THE MEMORIAL SERVICE IN THE BLAIN HAGAN ROOM OF THE CHURCH.
MRS. WALTHER WAS A NATIVE OF CHARLOTTE, NC, BUT HAD LIVED IN GREENSBORO SINCE 1966. BEFORE MOVING TO GREENSBORO, SHE HAD LIVED IN WINSTON-SALEM, STATESVILLE, & SOUTH CAROLINA.
SHE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, SERVING THE CHURCH WITH HER TIME AND ENGERY. SHE WAS THE PAST PRESIDENT OF THE PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN, PAST PRESIDENT AND PAST CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF THE FRIENDSHIP DAY GROUP, PAST PRESIDENT OF THE COMMUNITY SERVICE GROUP & MEMBER OF THE FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS. WHEN MRS. WALTHER WAS LIVING IN CHARLOTTE, SHE BECAME A FOUNDING MEMBER OF COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER SONS, WILLIAM “PETE” WALTHER, III AND DR. ERSKINE S. WALTHER, BOTH OF GREENSBORO, AND A BROTHER & SISTER IN LAW, STEWART & GURT SMITH OF CHARLOTTE, NC. SHE IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER HUSBAND WILLIAM PETER WALTHER, JR WHO PASSED AWAY IN 1990.
