Vivian Sanders
LAWNDALE — Mrs. Vivian Ray Green Sanders, 44, of 1033 W. Stagecoach Trail, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at Carolinas Medical Center.
Born Feb. 9, 1961, in Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late William Furman Green and Selma Katie Moore Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Billy J. Sanders; two daughters, Whitney Sanders and Wendy Grace Sanders, both of the home; two brothers, Jackie Lee Green of Ellenboro and Johnny Fay Green of Minnesota; and a sister, Michelle Green of Alabama.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, with the Revs. Allen Davis and Graham Lewis and Mr. Warren Shuford officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight at Stamey Funeral Home from 6 to 8.

Dana Fitch
SHELBY — Dana Michelle Fitch, 35, went to be with her Lord, Aug. 19, 2005, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
A native of Cleveland County, Dana was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Sharon Ledford.
She is survived by her father, Ken Fitch; two daughters, Jessica and Selena; a brother, Nathan Dale Fitch; sisters, Sarah-Jane Fitch and Emily Elizabeth Fitch; and a special aunt and uncle, Morris and Brenda Page, all of Shelby.
A memorial service was held Aug. 21, 2005, at Cleveland Memorial Park.

‘J. B.’ Luckadoo
BOSTIC — Mr. James Berry “J. B.” Luckadoo, 72, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, in Forest City.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Little White Country Church, with the Revs. Buddy Campbell and Ron Baer officiating.

Dwight Watts Sr.
MOORESBORO — The Rev. Dwight Stevenson Watts Sr., 84, of 3405 Cliffside Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at home.
A native of Gaston County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Mable Rankin Watts. He was a Baptist minister for 57 years and was a graduate of Gardner-Webb College and Southeastern Theological Seminary.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Nester; and one sister, Venecia Watts.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Savage Watts of the home; two sons, Dwight Stevenson (Buddy) Watts Jr. of Lenoir and Charles Noel Watts of Hendersonville; two daughters, Cynthia Weaver of Newton and Becky Ann Watts of Morganton; a brother, Jack Watts of Lowell; and three sisters, Sidney Johnson of Hickory, Ruth Underdown of Mount Holly and Billy Sue Taylor of Gaffney, S.C.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is today at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, with the Revs. Bobby Gettys, Don Reddey and Tom Cearly. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

SHELBY — Mrs. Grace Odessa Greene, 67, of Century Care of Shelby, formerly of Boiling Springs, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Cleveland Memorial Park, with Dr. Carroll Page officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and at other times at the home of her sister, Hazel Clark, 208 Joseph Court, Shelby.
Melvina Brown
LINCOLNTON — Mrs. Melvina A. Reinhardt Brown, 79, of 1410 E. Gaston St., died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Lincoln Medical Center.
The funeral will be Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday at the church 30 minutes before the service and at other times at the home of her niece, Kay Pulley, 1498 Buck Oak Road, Lincolnton.

Ricky Callahan
MOORESBORO — Mr. Ricky Eugene Callahan, 43, of 748 Island Ford Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Rutherford Hospital.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of Joyce Ann Garrett Candelaria of Shelby and the late Rabe Floyd Callahan. He was a self-employed painter and driver for Professional Transportation Inc.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Callahan and Timothy Ray Callahan.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Terry Callahan of the home; a son, Tony Eugene Callahan of the home; a daughter, Sabrina Callahan Humphries and husband, Jonathan, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Dennis Callahan of Florence, S.C., Rabe Callahan of Shelby and the Rev. Scott Callahan of Fort Mill, S.C.; a sister, Debbie Smiley of Shelby; and a stepsister, Nieves Hamlet of Shelby.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, with the Revs. Bobby Callaham and Scott Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Robert Callahan Memorial Gardens in Ellenboro.

FOREST CITY — Mrs. Lelar Hudson Robertson, 94, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Hospice House in Forest City.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mount Harmony Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Bela Rumpf
SHELBY — Mr. Bela Rumpf, 84, of 156 Valentine Drive, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Hospice at Wendover.
Born in Hungary, he was a son of the late Istvan Rumpf and Rosalie Kuptar Rumpf. He was a retired tool and die maker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Antal “Tony” Szabo.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Pastor Rumpf of the home; a stepdaughter-in-law, Joanne Szabo of Shelby; two grandsons, Antal Szabo and Zsolt Szabo and wife, Jennifer, all of Atlanta; two great-grandsons, Ethan Szabo and Peter Szabo, both of Atlanta; and a great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Szabo of York, S.C.
The funeral was Thursday at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, with Chaplain Cindy Coleman officiating.

Andrew Pruett
INMAN, S.C. — Mr. Andrew Dale Pruett, 60, of 118 Venus St., died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Shelby and a son of the late Lester and Dona Newton Pruett. He was regional sales manager for Overnite Trucking Co. He was worshipful master of Cherokee Springs Masonic Lodge No. 135, a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite and a member of the Shrine. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Mayse Pruett of the home; five daughters, Tammy Murray and Sherri Pruett, both of Shelby, and Nikki Chapman, Lisa Chapman and Terri Neal of Boiling Springs, S.C.; two sons, Todd Pruett of Belwood and David Pruett of Cherryville; a sister, Dianne Champion of Shelby; a brother, Boyd Pruett of Belwood; and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral is tonight at 8 at Eggers Funeral Home in Boiling Springs, S.C., with the Rev. David Lancaster officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. by Cherokee Springs Masonic Lodge.
The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 6 to 8 and at other times at the home.

‘Orb’ Wray
SHELBY — Mr. Robert Lewis “Orb” Wray, 53, of 316 Martin St., died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Ida Wray of Shelby and the late Coffard Wray. He joined Eskridge Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He worked many years as a floral designer at Walton’s Florist and also worked at Genesis and Mike’s florists. Known for his respectful and mannerly ways, “Orb” enjoyed designing floral arrangements and was dedicated to his work. He also loved playing basketball.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Wray.
In addition to his mother, left to cherish his memory are four sons, Tyrone Finney and Artez Wray, both of Shelby, Renaldo Davenport of Charlotte, and Robin Finney of Hickory; a daughter, Tamara Bright (Shonnon) of Virginia; three brothers, Willie A. Wray, John L. Wray and Sherwood Wray, all of Shelby; seven sisters, Beulah Cannon (J.C.), Mae Charles Ross (Bill), Vinnie Johnson (Jimmy), Helen Banner, Betty Joe Wray, Merlean Carson (Jimmy) and Dorothy Hall, all of Shelby; eight grandchildren; an aunt, Gladys Roberson of Shelby; an uncle, David Jamison of Shelby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Strickland Maddox officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns.
The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes before the service.
