FOREST CITY — Miss Madge Lee Swink, 68, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Rutherford Hospital.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Harrelson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6 to 8.
Fannie Lowery
GROVER — Mrs. Fannie Mae Lowery, 81, formerly of 2350 Pleasant Hill Church Road, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born May 19, 1923. She retired from Cleveland Insurance Co. and was an active, lifetime member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hill Lowery and Clara Frances Lowery; and brothers, Wells Lowery, Hill Lowery and Mike Lowery.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Isabel Lowery of Shelby; six nephews, Ronnie Lowery and wife, Gwen, Stephen Lowery and wife, Sadie, Reid Lowery and wife, Brenda, Tommy Lowery and wife, Amanda, all of Grover, Richard Lowery and wife, Kay, of Shelby, and Seerley Lowery and wife, Faye, of Georgia; three nieces, Sonja Short of Shelby, Susan White and husband, Richard, and Hilda Kiser and husband, Danny, all of Kings Mountain; and a number of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral is today at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Dr. Doug Dickens officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

VALE — Mr. Howard Leon Lingerfelt, 88, of 202 Howard Lingerfelt Road, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Carolina Care Center.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Hebron United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Pat Tiffany-Byers, James McKinney and Randi Godfrey officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

GAFFNEY, S.C. — Mr. Travis Phillip Alexander, 27, of 240 Old Race Track Road, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, with the Revs. Wofford Caughman and Jason Patterson officiating.
Burial will follow in Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church tonight from 6 to 8 and other times at the home.

James Arrowood
GAFFNEY, S.C. — Mr. James Arthur Arrowood, 64, 121 Brittany Road, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.
A native of Cherokee County, S.C., he was a former employee of Torrington Co. of Duncan, S.C., and a member of Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Arthur and Mary Lee Lancaster Arrowood and a son, Terry Arrowood.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Blackwell Arrowood of the home; a son, Jimmy Arrowood of Gaffney; a daughter, Beth Shepherd and her husband, Patrick, of Shelby; a grandson, Allen Shepherd of Shelby and a brother, Joe Arrowood of Gaffney; a sister, Mary Littlejohn and her husband, Edward, of Gaffney.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home in Gaffney Monday night from 7 to 8:30 and at other times at the home.

James McClellan
FOREST CITY — Mr. James “Jimmy” William McClellan, 47, of 303 Trojan Lane, died Friday, April 1, 2005.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Adaville Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Cobb officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery in Spindale.
The family will be at the home of James and Lillian McClellan, 207 Maryland Drive in Forest City.

SPINDALE — Mrs. Mary Corinne McMurry Grayson, 90, of 107 Huntley St., died Saturday, April 2, 2005.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Kirk officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Forest City.

Sarah Glascoe
SHELBY — Mrs. Sarah Jane Dedmon Glascoe, 92, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at Hospice of Cleveland County, Wendover.
She was a lifelong member of Ross Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Glascoe was preceded in death by her parents, James Monroe and Florence Jane Botts Dedmon; her husband, Dock Glascoe; five brothers, Thomas L. Spurgeon, Alonzo, George, Rufus L. and Virgil Dedmon; and three sisters, Kathleen Allen, Matilda Dedmon and Ovida Pruett.
Mrs. Glascoe is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, George and Beth Gibson of Vale; a daughter and son-in-law, Jane Toney and George C. Misle of Matthews; a sister, Annie Laura Dover of Grover; and six grandchildren, Amy Gibson of Vale, Edward Misle of Charlotte, Susan Fincke of Virginia Beach, Va., Brenda Downing of Charlotte, Kim Misle of Indian Trail and Monica Klose of Charlotte.
The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Ross Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joshua Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

FOREST CITY — Mr. James Edward Nance Jr., 72, of 1272 Old Henrietta Road, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at VA Medical Center in Asheville.

Burial will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.

Peggy Blackburn
KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Peggy Yates Blackburn, 68, of 702 Bethlehem Church Road, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest William and Ada Ware Yates. She was co-owner and operator of Humpty Dumpty Day Care in Kings Mountain and belonged to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bud Yates, Harvey Yates and Jackie Yates.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Blackburn of Kings Mountain; a son, Steven Blackburn and wife, Lisa, of Grover; a daughter, Donna Henderson and husband, Mike, of Kings Mountain; four grandchildren, Brocke Blackburn, Brooke Blackburn, Caleb Henderson and Micaela Henderson; and four sisters, Frances McDaniel, Betty Wooley, Dot Smith and Jo Ann Morrow, all of Kings Mountain.
The funeral will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Harris Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 8:30.

Ricky Bridges
SHELBY — Mr. Ricky Dale Bridges, 47, of 1209 Pamela Drive, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born March 21, 1958, in Colorado Springs, Colo., he was a son of the late Bobby Gene Bridges and Janette Davis Pritchard Bridges. He was a professional sound technician for many groups including The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Reba McEntire, Suzy Boggus, Lori Morgan, Dwight Yoakam and others. He was also a production manager for Lionel Cartwright.
He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Fannie Pritchard of Fallston; his paternal grandmother, Minnie Bridges of Lawndale; a stepdaughter, Natasha Bridges of Florida; two brothers, David Bridges and fiancée, Christie Lane, and Brian Bridges and Diana, all of Shelby; a sister, Pam Bridges and fiancé, Jon Bolton, of Shelby; three nephews, Nicholas Ledbetter and wife, Ashley, Trey Ledbetter and Hunter Ledbetter; his best friend for 30 years, Robin Brown-Braddy; special friends, Robert Van Buren, Robby Snyder, Roger Eaker, Al Eddins, Philip Grigg, Madison Braddy, Mary Mancini, Steve Rosati and Donnie Brown; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Revs. Benjamin Davis and Jackie Potter officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday immediately following the burial.
