Ruth Tewes
ATHENS, Ga. — Mrs. Ruth Emily Tewes, 82, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Scott Heitshusen officiating. Burial will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Hollis.

Grace Wesson
WINNABOW — Mrs. Grace Owens Wesson, 95, of 1478 River Road SE, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, in Brunswick Cove.
Born June 15, 1909, in Union County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Thomas Owens and Carrie Lee Tate. She and her deceased husband, Ray Brevard Wesson Sr., were in the restaurant business for many years in the Cleveland County area, owning Wesson’s Coffee Shoppe in Lawndale. Mr. Wesson was chef at City Park Restaurant in Shelby, which opened in the early 1950s. Later, he was in charge of the dining room at Shelby Elks Club. Before Mr. Wesson’s death in 1966, the couple owned and operated Wesson Barbeque in Shelby for several years.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray Brevard Wesson Jr.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria W. Bridges and Myles C. Bridges of Oak Island and Joan W. Hunt and Joe A. Hunt Sr. of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Mary F. Wesson of High Point; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Ben Davis officiating.

Sarah Stroup
KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Sarah McDaniel Stroup, 84, of 213 Phifer Circle, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Hospice at Wendover.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late John Dixon “Dixie” and Annie Lee Dixon McDaniel. She retired from Fiber Industries and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde McDaniel and Glenn McDaniel.
She is survived by two sons, Barry D. Stroupe and wife, Barbara, and Ronnie Stroupe and wife, Marilyn, all of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Annie Belle Shouse and husband, Phil, of Watkinsville, Ga.; six brothers, Charles McDaniel, Bill McDaniel, Rodger McDaniel and Gerald McDaniel, all of Kings Mountain, and Naaman McDaniel and Dean Durwood McDaniel, both of Shelby; four sisters, Josephine Sellers, Helen Roberts and Ruth Sanders, all of Kings Mountain, and Martha Ann Wright of Hickory; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight at Harris Funeral Home from 6:30 to 8.

Belinda Epley
CAMPOBELLO, S.C. — Mrs. Belinda Benton Epley, 53, of 105 Faith Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at USC Medical Center in Charles-ton, S.C.
Born Aug. 13, 1951, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of Mary Ellen Paige Benton of Shelby and the late Winfred Edward Benton. She was employed at Saybrook Textile Mill in Inman, S.C., and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robin Epley; two sons, David Leroy Childers and Christopher Michael Childers; and a brother, Kenneth Odell Benton.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Angel Hedspeth and husband, Jason, of Shelby and Samantha Morrow and husband, Travis, of Spartanburg, S.C.; a son, Robert Tessener of Cliffside; a stepson, Robin Epley II of Mayo, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Wendi McIntyre of Cowpens, S.C. and Brandy Epley of Pacolet, S.C.; five sisters, Jeanette Walser and husband, Gil, Cora Lee Owens and husband, Gene, Barbara Owens and husband, Bob, and Kathy Walker, all of Shelby, and Nelda Ann Childers of Gaffney, S.C.; two brothers, Winfred Benton Jr. and wife, Sylvia, of Gaffney and Paul Benton of Shelby; her fiancé, Randy Jackson of Campobello; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral is today at 4 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour before the service and at other times at her mother’s home, 109 Lot No. 3 Livion Drive, Grover.

CASAR — Mrs. Bertha Lee Hudson Hudson, 42, of 250 Golden Valley Road, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at home.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Cliff Breakfield
STANLEY — Mr. Woodrow Clifford “Cliff” Breakfield, 33, of 1045 Ramsey St., died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of William Morgan and Deanna Lynn Frazier Breakfield of Rockport, Texas. He was an employee of Duke Energy and a member of Redeemer Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Holly.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife, Dawn Mischelle Jones Breakfield of the home; a daughter, Abbey Nicole Breakfield, age 7, of the home; a son, Noah Ryan Breakfield, age 3, of the home; two brothers, Kendrick Suttles Breakfield of Kings Mountain and Thomas Alan Breakfield of Shelby; a sister, Melissa Christine Sutherland of Mooresville; and maternal grandmother, Martha Christine Frazier of Blacksburg, S.C.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Redeemed Free Will Baptist Church in Mount Holly, with the Rev. Billy Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Gardens.

‘Peggy’ Boltz
BERKLEY, Mass. — Mrs. Margaret “Peggy” Lee Boltz, 66, formerly of Shelby, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at home.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Evangelical Covenant Church in Attleboro, Mass. A memorial service will be Sunday, March 13, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

UNION MILLS — Mrs. Jennie Lee Norville Keller, 79, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Rutherford Hospital in Rutherfordton.

Emma Wallace
KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Emma Sisk Wallace, 71, of 413 Fulton Drive, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at University Hospital in Charlotte.
Born in Ruther-ford County, she was a daughter of the late Horace Sisk Sr. and Effie Mae Wall Sisk. She retired from Filter Queen of the Carolinas in Gastonia as a bookkeeper and was formerly office supervisor with Kings Point in Bessemer City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Archie Lee, Carl and J. H. Sisk; and two sisters, Thelma Sisk Sears and Margaret Sisk Thomas.
She is survived by a son, Richard Wallace of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Teresa W. Melton and fiancé, Steve Sanders, of the home; a brother, Horace Sisk Jr. and wife, Helen, of Kings Mountain; her best friend, Billie Farris of Shelby; a granddaughter, Heather Hall and husband, Gino, of Kings Mountain; and a great-grandson, T.J. Hall of Kings Mountain.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Bessemer City, with the Rev. Mike Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.

Lowell Lee
SHELBY — Mr. Thomas Lowell Lee, of 4172 W. Dixon Blvd., died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Jacob Astor Lee and Sallie Philbeck Lee. He was in the Army, serving in Japan in World War II. He retired from Fiber Industries and was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Webb Lee; two brothers, Shannon and Harold Lee; and an infant daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ruth Causby Lee of the home; a stepdaughter, Judy Smith and husband, Carter, of Shelby; two sisters, Melba Callahan of Blacksville, S.C. and Nadine Johnson and husband, Carl, of Shelby; three brothers, Frank Lee of Rutherfordton, Marvin Lee and wife, Bettie, of Newton, and Boyd Lee and wife, Dot, of Shelby; a stepgrandson, David Smith and wife, Tina; a stepgranddaughter, Tammy Lewis and husband, Ray; two sisters-in-law, Sybil Lee and Jeanette Lee; and a number of special nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel, with the Rev. Andy Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Thomas Fullerton
SHELBY — Mr. Thomas Noel Fullerton, 69, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at home.
Born in Riverview, Ala., he was the only son of Frances Gilson Fullerton of the home and the late Thomas Heflin Fullerton. He graduated from Florida State with a BS degree in education. He was in the Air Force and served in the Vietnam conflict. In 1966, he began a 34-year career with Grumman Aerospace Corp., where he worked on a number of programs including the Lunar Module, E2C Hawkeye and F14 Tomcat. His international career took him and his family to Iran, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and France. He retired from Northrop Grumman in 2000. He was a lifelong member of Rehobeth Baptist Church in Cataula, Ga. He was an avid sports fan and his favorite teams were the Florida State Seminoles, Boston Red Sox and the Green Bay Packers.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judith Fullerton; a son, Greg Fullerton of San Francisco, Calif.; two daughters, Karen Fullerton of San Francisco, and Leah Ann Merritt of Shelby; and a grandson, Brent Merritt of Shelby.
A graveside service is today at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery with Air Force military honors, with the Rev. Tony Tench officiating.

Christine Morrison
KINGS MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Christine Marie Morrison, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Alfred John and Marie Ann LeBlanc Gallant. She was retired from Baxter Corp. in Shelby, where she worked as a textile designer. She was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kings Mountain, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Kings Mountain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Darrin (Red) Morrison; a daughter, Marianne Correll; and a brother, Alfred Joseph Gallant.
She is survived by two sons, Walter (Butch) Morrison Jr. and John Morrison, both of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Cecelia Morrison Meade and husband, Scott, of Kings Mountain; a brother, Joseph Alyre Gallant of Hawaii; two sisters, Irene King of Sarasota, Fla., and Rita Bourque of Lynn, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass is today at 2 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, with Father George Kloster officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home.
