FOREST CITY — Mr. Warren Wren Walker, 38, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends tonight at Washburn and Dorsey Funeral Home from 6 to 8.
Diane Anderson
SHELBY — Mrs. Fannie Diane Howell Anderson, 57, of 150 Thamon Road, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennoris Byers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church an hour before the service.

Conley Reynolds
LINCOLNTON — Mr. Conley Elon Reynolds, 93, of 3041 Landers Chapel Road, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004.
Born on Dec. 10, 1910, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Luther and Essie Heafner Reynolds. He was a retired CSX railroad foreman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Coman Reynolds and Dan Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne S. Reynolds of the home; two stepsons, Ricky Dean Justice and wife, Sherry, of Shelby and Carl Justice of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Wise of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Jason Justice and wife, Stephanie, Allen Justice, Casey Justice and Kyleena Justice.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Fred Falls officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight at Warlick Funeral Home from 7 to 9.

GROVER — Ms. Sherry Denise Campbell, 40, of 142 Hicks Road, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Rutherford Hospital.
A cryptside service to celebrate her life will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Clingman Memorial Gardens, with the Revs. Dennis Harmon and Johnny Willis officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight at White Columns Funeral Service of Blacksburg, S.C., from 7 to 9 and at other times at the home.
Minnie Brown
BLACKSBURG, S.C. — Mrs. Minnie “Sweetie” Tuft Brown, 70, of 160 Bowen River Road, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Born Jan. 22, 1934, in Cleveland County, she was the oldest daughter of 16 children of the late Nathan Tuft and Eula Mae Thurman.
She received her education from Douglas High School in Lawndale. She was employed by Mr. and Mrs. John Yelton, where she remained until she retired. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Waco until 1958. Minnie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Earl, where she served diligently as an usher, a member of the adult missionary department, pastor’s aide, choir treasurer and youth Sunday school teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and a granddaughter, Jessica Fantasia.
She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Brown of the home; two sons, Ricky (Kathy) of Blacksburg and Tommy (Anita) of Charlotte; three granddaughters, Tania Adira, Manina Anani and Trinity Grace; three sisters, Lizzie Epps of Waco, Eular Young of Cherryville and Zuey Tuft of Kings Mountain; seven brothers, Joe, Ben and June Tuft, all of Waco, John Tuft of Cherryville, Roy Tuft of Denver, Willie James Tuft of Gaffney, S.C., and Bobby Tuft of Greenville, S.C.; three brothers-in-law, Rayford Brown of Shelby and Lee (Lucille) Brown and Louis (Deborah) Brown, of Kings Mountain; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church Earl, with Pastor Simon McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Webb Memorial Lawns.

MOORESBORO — Mrs. Donnis Davis Curtis, 75, of 3468 Curtis Road, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker, a member of Drury Dobbins Baptist Church and a loving mother and grandmother who was selfless and giving, always putting the needs of her family before her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee and Getty Pritchard Davis; her husband, Dewey Junior Curtis; a brother, Willard Davis; and a sister, Betty Lou McDaniel.
She is survived by a son, Bob S. Curtis and wife, Melissa, of Mooresboro; three daughters, Claudia Newton and husband, Sonny, of Little Rock, Ark., Anne Frazier and husband, Johnny, of Henrietta and Sherry Goforth and husband, Warren, of Shelby; six brothers, Max Davis and wife, Betty, of Lake Wylie, Pitt Davis and wife, Frieda, of Lincolnton, Buren Davis and wife, Anita, of Spartanburg, S.C., Mike Davis of Ellenboro, and Jerry Davis and wife, Flo, and Tom Davis and wife, Sharon, all of Mooresboro; three sisters, Carolyn Wellmon and husband, Doc, of Forest City, Kay Wright and husband, Burl, of Kentucky and Norma Kelly and husband, Kenneth, of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Shannon and Matt Curtis, Angela Wyle, Dana Gettys, Melissa Lavender, Jenny Howell, Brandy Skipper and Chuck Goforth; and eight great-grandchildren, Stephanie Gettys, Kristin and Katie Fitzgerald, Cody Lavender, Bryson Howell, Shae Skipper, Tyler Coggins and Courtney Goforth.

Willie Smith Sr.
LAWNDALE — Mr. Willie Mickey Smith Sr., 53, of 110 Carriage Court, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County on Feb. 17, 1951, he was formerly employed as a fixer with Doran Textiles and belonged to Ledford Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Smith and Ruby Elaine Ledford Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lemons Smith; two sons, Willie Mickey Smith Jr. of Lawndale, William Thomas Smith and wife, Angie, of Cherryville; a brother, David Kevin Smith of Shelby; two sisters, Candy Powell and Dawn Caldwell, both of Mooresboro; and the joy of his life, his grandson, T.J. Smith of Cherryville.
The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at Ledford Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jackie Price officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
James Beam
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Lt. Col. James D. Beam, U.S. Army (Ret.), 74, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004.
Born in Cherryville, he was a son of the late David Marcus and Ada Sperling Beam. He was a graduate of Clemson University. He entered the Army in 1953, where he was a fixed-wing and helicopter pilot serving in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Lt. Col. Beam was also Commander of the 7th Battalion and Executive Officer of the 2nd Brigade at Fort Jackson, S.C. Following his retirement from the military in 1977, he was employed with the S.C. Department of Corrections. In 1997, he retired as warden of Goodman Correctional Institution.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Talmadge Beam and David Beam; and three sisters, Pearl Allen, Geneve Hord and Marie Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Miller Beam of Columbia; a daughter, Beverly B. Flynn of Columbia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Dawn Beam of Cary and Michael and Alicia Beam of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Casey Beam, Brian Flynn, Michelle, Jordan, Lauren, Leslie and Taylor Beam; a brother, Charles Beam of Columbia; and two sisters, Madge Whitworth of Waco and Margaret Allen of Denver.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 5:30 to 7.
Tyler McGinnis
SHELBY — Mr. Rodney Tyler McGinnis, 20, of 2103 Sylva Drive, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at home of natural causes.
Born in Cleveland County, he is a son of Rodney and Kathy Wood McGinnis of Shelby. He enjoyed fishing and traveling. Tyler loved sports and was a great pitcher. His baseball team won two state championships. He loved to play basketball, go bowling and play many other sports with his friends.
He was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Mabel McGinnis.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Joe and Barbara Wood of Shelby; paternal grandfather, Noel McGinnis of Shelby; a brother, Matthew Joseph McGinnis of Charlotte; aunts and uncles, Carol Wood of Bradenton, Fla., Kim Greene of Shelby, Michael and Millie Wood of Shelby, Yvonne and Wayne Rollins of Shelby, Wayne McGinnis of Winston-Salem and David Wood of Maryland; great aunts and uncles, Edna Delgado, Melvin and Don Bolton, Kermit and Carolyn McGinnis; and several loving cousins and friends.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ken Pruitt and Mike McGee officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Fannie Anderson
SHELBY — Mrs. Fannie Anderson, 57, of 150 Thamon Road, died Saturday. Oct. 2, 2004, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was the daughter of the late William Avery Howell and Annie Lee Borders Howell and a native of Cleveland County.
She graduated with honors from Washington High School and attended Barber Scotia College. She married her high school sweetheart, James Rudolph Anderson, and to this union two children were born. She was a dedicated member of Washington Baptist Church, where she was a former pianist for the mass choir, president of the Delia Patterson Missionary Circle and served on the usher board and in many other organizations. Until her illness, she was a shipping supervisor at Modern Polymers Inc. in Cherryville.
To cherish her loving memory are her husband, James R. Anderson; her son, James Dimario Anderson (Frankie); her daughter, Quincie Dyan Rudette Anderson Seright (Jonathan); her grandchildren, Deshun Dawson, James Dimario Anderson Jr., Anthony DeAndre Shamar Anderson, Andre Bracey, Maikiea Danyell Seright and Brooklyn D’Asia Seright; five brothers, Avery Lee Howell, (Pug) William Jerome Howell (Minnie Sue), Thamon Caleb Howell (Christine), all of Shelby, Roland Parnell Howell of Salisbury and Dexter Columbus Howell (Elviria) of Raleigh; one sister, Allie Chineta Howell Maddox (Craig); her “sister at heart,” Ruby Jane Borders McNeal of Bowie, Md.; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Leach (James), Joanna Hopper (Ernest) and Gail Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Johnny Lee Anderson and George Edward Anderson (Pamela); and Billie Jo Brown, a family friend.
