Jonathan Padgett
LATTIMORE — Mr. Jonathan Padgett, 25, of 303 W. Main St., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at his home.
He is survived by his father, Barry C. Padgett, and his mother, Diane Putnam Padgett, both of Lattimore; his wife, Melissa Padgett of the home; a daughter, Ariel Lane Patterson of the home; and two brothers, Matthew Padgett of Asheville, and Christopher Padgett of Lattimore.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. today at Sharon United Methodist Church with the Revs. Dianne Donald, Jim McSwain and Harry Walker officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Sharon United Methodist Church Prayer Garden.

Beatrice Morrison
SHELBY — Mrs. Beatrice Holland Morrison, 80, of 515 Kings Road, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 24, 1922, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Clarence Holland and Bertha Bridges.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Ben Holland; and a sister, Lib Evers. She worked as a cloth room inspector.
She is survived by her husband, Obie E. Morrison of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Hampton of Mayodan and Brenda Herndon of Grover; three granddaughters, Hollie H. Lawrence and her husband, Keith, of Madison, Kelly H. Short and her husband, Duane, of Cherryville, and Lou Ann H. Petties and her husband, Robert U. II, of Mayodan; three precious great-grandchildren, Addison and Peyton Lawrence and Nova Short; two brothers, Herbert C. Holland of Tampa, Fla., and Gerald Holland of Burlington; a sister, Louise H. Russ of Greensboro; and many special relatives and beloved friends.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at New Bethel Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Robert Andress and Reed Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes before the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Paul Haulk
FOREST CITY — Mr. Paul H. Haulk, 87, of Harmon Street, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Rutherford Hospital.
The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. today at Florence Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes before the service.

Polly Ledford
SHELBY — Mrs. Polly Beam Ledford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died on Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Hospice at Wendover.
She was born Feb. 23, 1926, in Grover, the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Lela Westmoreland Beam.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty, and a brother, Bob.
She was an active member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a graduate nurse of Presbyterian Hospice School of Nursing in Charlotte.
In addition to her nursing, she became interested in painting in her early 50s. She was a member of CCWAG, Southern Arts Society, a past member of Shelby Art League, Charlotte Art League and Guild of Charlotte Artist.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Ledford of the home; a daughter, Terri Ramsey of Rock Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Mackie of Granite Falls; a son, Scott Ledford of Charlotte; a grandson and his wife, Bryant and Belinda Ramsey of Rock Hill; a granddaughter, Beth Ramsey Gentry of Rock Hill; a grandson, Matthew Mackie of Granite Falls; two granddaughters, Erin Mackie of Granite Falls and Alexandra Ledford of Greensboro; a grandson of Dylan Ledford of Greensboro; and two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Ramsey and Emily Ramsey, both of Rock Hill.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Drs. Jim Richardson and. Gene Watterson and the Rev. Clyde Buckner officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the Family Life Center of the church and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church Building Fund or to Hospice of Cleveland County.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Mrs. Belle Sparks Roberson, 88, of 465 Radcliff Road and formerly of Rutherfordton, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Britthaven of Albemarle.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Adaville Baptist Church with the Rev. James Daves officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Mrs. Thelma Beatrice Elmore Shytle, 74, of 2020 Downy St., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ned Duncan officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, and at other times at the home of her daughter, Phyllis S. Jackson, 2310 Sparrow Drive, Rock Hill.

TEMPLE HILLS, Md. — Ms. Maxine Young Redmon, formerly of Spindale, died Dec. 30, 2002, at her home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wells Spring United Methodist Church in Forest City with the Rev. Effie McClain officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Boyd Sisk
SHELBY — Mr. Boyd Adam Sisk, 75, of 1529 Rehobeth Church Road, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at his home.
A native of Lincoln County, he was born Nov. 21, 1927. He was the son of the late Carmie Washington and Lona Luckadoo Sisk.
He was a retired draw frame tender at Cleveland Mills and member of Community Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edmond, Clayton and C.W. Sisk and two infant brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Della Faye Tallent Sisk of the home; a son, Steve Sisk of Shelby; a daughter, Sylvia Daves of Shelby; a granddaughter and her husband, Sandra and Warren Cooper of Shelby; a grandson and his wife, Lt. Michael and Lisa Daves of Lake Ridge, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Dot Sisk of Casar; and a sister-in-law, Irene Sisk of Lake Lure.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Community Baptist Church with the Rev. John Bridges officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
