Elsie Mae Roberts, age 85 of 1290 Sharpe Ln., Hiddenite passed away Sunday, April 16, 2006. She is survived by four sons, Ernie Roberts and wife Frances, Wayne Roberts and wife Shirley, Kenneth Roberts and wife Mary all of Hiddenite, Virgil Roberts and wife Susan of Stony Point, one daughter, Edith Mitchell and husband Kenny of Hiddenite, one sister Ada Bell Cook of Granite Falls, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Taylorsville Church of God. The Rev. Mark Albertino and Rev. B. L. Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Hiddenite Cemetery. Martha Helton Hefner, age 56 of 5838 Church Rd., Taylorsville, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006. She is the daughter of the late Paul Helton and Arlee Bolick of Bethlehem. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband Raymond Hefner of the home, one son, Brent Hefner and friend Heather of Candler, NC, one daughter Marcia Schlicwenz and husband Guy of Taylorsville, one brother Eugene Helton and wife Eva of Bethlehem. Tina Cornelia "Neal" Hill, age 80 of 156 Hill Farm Rd., Hiddenite, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2006. She was the daughter of the late James Parks Frazier Sr, and Della Anne Campbell Frazier. She is survived by her husband Allen Hill of the home, two sons, James Allen "Jim" Hill and wife Pam of Taylorsville and Nathan Manley Hill and wife Robin of Hiddentie, two daughters, Brenda Crider and husband Danny, Cathy Fincannon and husband Sammy all of Stony Point, one brother J.P. Frazier Jr., eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday April 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Dr. Jimmy Hinson, Rev. Edward Nathaniel Jones, Sr., age 79 passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006. He is survived by his wife Pearl Little Jones, two sons, two daughters, one brother and two sisters all of PA. Funeral services were scheduled for Thursday, April 13, 2006 at Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Pleasant Home FBH Cemetery.
Josie Marie Boughner age 45 of Lori Ln., Taylorsville, passed away Sunday April 9, 2006. She is survived by one son Joseph Boughner of Taylorsville, two daughters, Daisie Cline and Jennifer Boulghner both of Taylorsville, two brothers, Dale Corbin and Robert Corbin both of Ohio, a sister Georgia Abel also of Ohio. A memorial service was held at Living Word Church in Hiddenite on Monday, April 17, 2006.
Paul Ronnie White, age 52 of 290 Cedar Woods Rd., Taylorsville died peacefully on June 12th, 2006 at Frye Medical Center. He was the beloved son of Paul Sherrill White and Mary Johnson White and a sister Pam White of Greensboro also survives, and many friends. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday June 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Dr. Charles Carver will officiate. Derwood Parrish Conklin, age 73 of 222 Cynthia St., Statesville, passed away Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Iredell Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on July 10, 1932 in Durham son of the late Herman Paul Conklin and Geneva Benton Conklin. He was a house painter, was manager of Glidden Paint store and Warlick Paint store in Statesville retired and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Conklin and Miron Conklin. He is survived by his wife Martha Mathews Conklin of the home, one son Eric Kave Conklin of West Virginia, one daughter Kenlaugh Conklin Lewis of Raleigh, two brothers Joel H. Conklin of Durham and Hartwell B. Conklin of Florida, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. There will be no formal funeral or visitation. James Harry Goodwin Sr., age 60 of Chic-a-moo Dr., Stony Point, died Thursday, June 8, 2006 at home unexpectedly. He was born in Iredell County on September 10, 1945, son of the late Foy Elliott Goodwin and Rachell Martin Goodwin. He was a route salesman for Waldensian-Sunbeam bakery, member of Pisgah United Methodist Church, active with youth and cooking at the church and was a youth sponser. He is survived by his wife Linda Hollar Goodwin of the home, two sons, James Harry Goodwin Jr., and Joshua Elliott Goodwin both of the home, one daughter Alice Goodwin Maynard and husband Tommy of Stony Point, two grandchildren, Morgan Grace Maynard and Lucas Evan Maynard. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 2:00 PM at Pisgah United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Garry Revels. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Elizabeth Robertson Steelman, age 84 of 3351 Mt. Wesley Church Rd., Stony Point, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Autumn Care in Mocksville after an extended illness. She was born in Forsyth County on April 15, 1922, daughter of the late Walter I. Robertson and Sarah Mae Miller Robertson. She was a retired textile worker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Steelman, an infant son, one grandchild, Tina Cox and four brothers. She is survived by two sons, Richard Steelman and Kenneth Steelman both of Hiddenite, four daughters, Sarah Stuckenschneider of Lexington, Dot Bowden of Winston Salem, Kay Cox of Mount Airy and Wanda Hendren of Stony Point, one sister Martha Lee of Crockett, TX, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 3:00 PM at Stony Point Tabernacle. The Rev. Chuck Hager and Rev. Wes Hammer will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Phillip S. Watts, age 79 of Harrisonburg, VA., died June 6, 2006 after an extended illness. He was born July 19, 1927 in Alexander County, son of the late Dewy Watts and Nellie Watts Brown. He was a retired printer. He is survived by two sons, Billy Watts of Stony Point and George Watts of Harrisonburg, VA., one daughter Iris Jean Jennints also of Harrisonburg. Grave side service will be held in Stony Point Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 17, 2006, conducted by Rev. Sidney Lanier. Andy Stevenson Patterson, age 75 of 214 Hopewell Church Rd., Hiddenite, passed away Friday, June 2, 2006 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem after an extended illness He was born April 15, 1931 in Alexander county, son of the late Dawson Lane Patterson and Bessie McClain Patterson. He was a furniture worker, a counselor and minister, a member of the Church of God and served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Gypsy Forni, three brothers, a twin brother Amos Connelly Patterson, Louis Dale Patterson and Vicky Lane Patterson. He is survived by his wife of forty five years Margaret Johnson Patterson of the home, one son Andreas C. Patterson of Conover, two daughters, Nina Willis, Rene' Iotti both of Tucson, Arizona, one brother Hassil Patterson of Ashboro, three grandchildren, Amanda Willis, Joseph Patterson and Karelle Patterson. Anna Pearl Bare Honeycutt Mitchell, age 97 of 74 Alexander St., Stony Point, passed away Thursday at Iredell Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born in Ashe County on June 17, 1909, daughter of the late Grove Cleveland Bare and Lillie Jones Bare, she was the oldest of seven children. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Stony Point Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Jesse James Honeycutt, her second husband, Sherman Mitchell, two sisters Ruby Shumate, Rema Hammer, two brothers, Guy Bare and Rob Bare and one daughter in law, Helen Honeycutt. She is survived by one son, Orville James (OJ) Honeycutt of Statesville, two sisters, Selma Combs of Stony Point and Grace Hall of TN, four grandchildren, Marie Rector and husband Jimmy of Stony Point, Buddy Honeycutt of Hiddenite, Terry Benfield of Stony Point and Angie Glascock and husband Ben of Maryville TN., five great grandchildren, Chasity Rector, Lisa Rector, Jordan Chapman , Heather and Jonathon Swink and one great great grandchild, Ashton Sherrod. Clyde Eugene Moser Jr, age 44 of 1276 Drumstand Rd., Stony Point, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 unexpectedly at home. He was born in Iredell County on November 25, 1961 son of Clyde Eugene Moser Sr. of Stony Point and the late Mabel Adams Moser. He was an furniture upholsterer and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Bryant Moser, his paternal Grandparents, Guylyn Moser and Beulah Mae Moser, maternal grandparents, Wood Adams and Connie Adams. He is survived by one son, C. J. Moser of Hickory, one daughter Chelsea Moser also of Hickory, two brothers, Gary Moser and James Moser both of Stony Point, three sisters, a twin sister Claudia Jean Davidson of Elmwood, Mae Ruth Moser of Charlotte and Marie Moser of Statesville. Neomia D. Anderson, age 77, of 207 Goble Road, passed away Monday, June 26, 2006, at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Iredell County, daughter of the late Henry Herman Dellinger and Ora Emma Drum Dellinger. Mrs. Anderson was retired from Beauty Maid where she worked in the sewing department and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Coyte Anderson; and four sisters, Mildred Cates, Willie Jenkins, Mary Lou Meiborg and Francis Beam. She is survived by her husband of 59 and 1/2 years, Boyd Anderson, of the home; three sons, Charles Anderson and wife, Linda, Donald Anderson and wife, Nancy, and Joe Anderson and wife, Teresa, all of Statesville; a daughter, Wanda Lentz and husband, Danny Sr., of Statesville; three brothers, Jimmie Dellinger, Roy Dellinger and Ruben Paul Dellinger, all of Statesville; six grandchildren, Danny Lentz Jr. and wife, Stacey, Kevin Anderson and wife, Hollie, Matthew Anderson and wife, Karen, Timothy Anderson and wife, Crystal, David Lentz and wife, Buffy, and Chad Anderson, all of Statesville; six great-grandchildren, Nicole Martin, Anna Anderson, Caitlin Anderson, Jacob Lentz, Elizabeth Anderson and Justin Lentz; and a number of nieces and nephews. Danny Gene Crider, age 58 of 688 Pisgah Ch. Rd., Stony Point, passed away Monday June 26, 2006 at his home. He was born in Iredell County on July 11, 1947, son of Hoke Crider Sr. and Wilma Elliott Crider of Statesville. He was disability retired co-owner of L & L Construction of Statesville, Inc., a very active member of Berea Baptist Church and past chief of Trinity Volunteer Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife Brenda Hill Crider of the home, two sons Randall and wife Vanessa of Statesville and Rodney and wife Mandy of Stony Point, two daughters Rhonda and husband Tony Cloer of Statesville and Andrea Crider of the home, one brother, Hoke Crider, Jr. of Statesville, two sisters, Sue Johnson and husband Melvin of Hiddenite and Joyce C. Miller of South Carolina, five grandchildren, Abby Cloer, Zachary Crider, Abel Cloer, Dresden Crider and Avery Cloer, also survived by "Cuz" Charlie Watt and wife Kay of Greenville, NC. She was born April 1, 1913 in Iredell County daughter of the late James Ransom White and Mary Elizabeth Brown White. She was a home maker, member of the home demonstration club and a member of Midway United Methodist Church In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Drye, a son Phillip Gordon Drye, two brothers James and Robert White and a sister Rachel Jordan and a great grandchild, Jessica Crawford. She is survived by one son Jerry Drye of Stony Point, one daughter Betty Drye Crawford of Statesville, three grandchildren Teresa Deal, Tina Franklin and Billy Crawford and nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Fay Owen Meiborg Sr., age 83 of 128 Stevenson Pl. Loop, Statesville, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville after an extended illness. He was born May 28, 1923 in Rock County, WI, son of the late William Meiborg and Fern Grade Meiborg. He was a retired truck driver and was of the methodist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou Meiborg, and one brother Burdette Meiborg. He is survived by two daughters, Judy Anderson Kurfees of Statesville and Ruth Ann Meiborg of IL, one son, Fay Owen Meiborg, Jr. and wife Jackie of IL, four grandchildren, Charles Sanford Kurfees of Statesville, Glenn "Pooh" Martin Kurfees, II also of Statesville, Brian and Jeffrey Meiborg of IL., one great grandson Charles Cole Kurfees of Statesville, two brothers, a twin brother Ray Meiborg and William Meiborg, two sisters, Luella Gilbank and Evelyn Gendz. Edward Colin Siceloff Sr., age 71, of 2227 Island Ford Road, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006, at home after an eight year illness. He was born in Iredell County on Dec. 21, 1934, son of the late Edward R. Siceloff and Jettie McHargue Siceloff. Mr. Siceloff was retired from J.C. Steele, and was a member of Command Baptist Church in Statesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Grier Siceloff; and three sisters, Ollie S. Templeton, Evelyn S. Waddell and Gay S. Mayberry. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jeanette Moose Siceloff, of the home; two sons, Derrick T. Siceloff of Statesville, and Edward C. Siceloff Jr. and wife, Tina Goodman Siceloff, of Concord; a daughter, Dawn S. Fox and husband, the Rev. Tony S. Fox Sr. of Landis; three brothers, John C. Siceloff, Sim Siceloff and Jim Siceloff; two sisters, Margaret S. Bloxom and Gwen S. Reid; and four grandchildren, Gina Fox, Steven Fox, Brooke Siceloff and Greyson Siceloff. Colin and Jeanette Siceloff were married on July 4, 1954. Colin faithfully served in the ministry of Command Baptist Church in Statesville since it's inception. He was saved on July 15, 1962, when he dedicated over forty years of service to his Lord. He taught the senior adult Sunday school class, and was a deacon of the church for thirty seven years. He led the choir and congregational singing for twenty years. He courageously and quietly battled colon cancer for over eight years, through the faith and prayers and support from his family and friends. Colin was faithful up to the very end of his life, praying with his wife, children and grandchildren gathered around him at home. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Command Baptist Church, and will be conducted by the Rev. Jim Morgan, the Rev. Tony Fox, the Rev. Mitchell Rash and the Rev. James Moore. The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
