Mrs. Bettie Jean Carelock Russell, 69 of 159 Harriet Ln., Statesville, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2004 at her home, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by the father of her three children, Robert Eugene Russell Sr. of Statesville, three children, Lynn Russell Campbell, Robert Eugene Jr. and Kelly Lane Russell, and four grandchildren. Three brothers Dean Carelock, Charles Carelock and Bobby Carelock, two sisters, Annie Van Shropshire and Barbara Ivey. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Chapman Funeral Home. Committal services were held at South River Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Christine Combs Estes, 86 of Brian Center, Statesville former resident of Stony Point, passed away Friday Sept. 17, 2004. She is survived by one son Howard Estes of Clarkston, GA.: one grandson, Kevin Estes of Kennesaw, Ga. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00PM at Stony Point Baptist Church.
Mrs. Esther Johnson Watts 91 of 425 S. Center St., Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at her home. She is survived by two daughters, Rita Watts DeJarnette and Gail Watts Starnes and husband Steve of Moravian Falls, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Graveside services were held Monday at 4:00 PM at Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Mary Catherine Pennell Barnette, 63 of 1409 Henry Rd., Taylorsville passed away Sept. 16, 2004. She is survived by four sons, Wade (Donna) Stikeleather of TN, Richard (Sandra) Stikeleather of Newton, Jerry (Keely) Stikeleather of Claremont and Phillip (Laura) Stikeleather of Taylorsville, two daughters Jeanna and husband David Craig of Taylorsville and Lisa Stikeleather of Hiddenite. Two sisters Lorene Barnes of Taylorsville and Blanche Donahue of Kannapolis. Funeral services were held Sunday Sept. 19 at Emerald Baptist Church, burial followed in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Clyde Harold Warren, age 75 of 161 Kay Lane, Statesville died November 30th. He is survived by two sons Audie Warren and Rusty Warren and wife Gail all of Statesville. Steven Everett Bush, age 56 of 360 Old Concord Church Rd. Stony Point died November 23rd. He is survived by his wife Mary Kelly Bush of the home, two sons Scott Bush also of the home and Robert Bush of Statesville. Funeral services were held November 24th at Chapman Chapel.
Robert William "Bob" McElroy, age 49 of 118 Jordan Crest Lane Stony Point died November 20th. He is survived by his mother Yvonne Westbrook McElroy of SC, his wife of ten years Patricia McCormick McElroy of the home, one daughter Amber McElroy of SC and one step daughter Stephanie Spera of Stony Point, one brother Chuck McElroy and two sisters Levetta and Gail both of SC. His mother-in-law Jenny McCormick of Stony Point. Funeral services were held November 23 at Temple Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ruby G. Seymore age 82 of Brian Center, Mooresville died Saturday, January 22, 2005. She was born in Key West, FL on January 29, 1922. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Edith Mae Smith Wyatt age 82 of Rosewood Rest Home, Harmony passed away Friday, January 21, 2005. Warren G. "Bud" Osborne Sr. age 81 of 1683 Carl Fox Rd., Taylorsville passed away Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Davis Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife Joan Franks Osborne of the home, one son Warren G. Osborne Jr. of Taylorsville and one daughter Bessie Mae Pope of San Antonio TX., and four grand children. James "Tank" Michael Mullins age 35 of 212 R.E. Johnson Ln. Hiddenite passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005 after an illness of four years. Kathy Ritchie Chapman age 51 of Taylorsville died Saturday March 19, 2005 as a result of an automobile accident. She is survived by one son Rev. Mrs. Moser is survived by two sons, William Moser of Stony Point and Lewis Moser and wife Sheila of Columbus, Ohio, two daughters, Henrietta and husband James Howell of Taylorsville and Linda and husban Junior Hill also of Taylorsville, fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Graylen David Cook, age 49 of Gwaltney Farm Ln., Taylorsville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday. Mr. Cook was employed with the N. C. Department of Corrections, served in the US Navy, assigned to the USS Dewy, he was a blue grass musician, song writer, played the banjo, guitar, dulcimar, mandolin and has a workshop where he made dulcimers and guitars. He portrayed his faith through song writing and music. Grave side services are scheduled for Friday at 10:00 AM at Hiddenite Cemetery. Dr. Carter Shelley will officiate. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Concord Presbyterian Church. William "Bill" Thomas Beckham, age 39 of Willowest Ln., Statesville, passed away Sunday, January 15th at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was employed at G. L. Wilson Construction Co. and was of the Baptist faith. He was born in Iredell county on September 21, 1966, son of Thomas Beckham and Ellen Johnson Beckham of the home. In addition to his parents he is survived by one brother, Charles Beckham and wife Nancy of Statesville, his paternal grandmother, Minda Beckham of Statesville and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Martha Prichard Marlowe, age 64 of 597 County Line Rd., Stony Point, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at home after an extended illness. She was born in Forsyth County on August 23, 1941, daughter of the late Kenneth R. Prichard and Eva Alexander Prichard of Stony Point. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Stony Point United Methodist Church. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one brother in law, Donnie Walker, and one step daughter , Teresa Marlowe. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband Leon Marlowe of the home, one daughter Robin Marlowe Lane of Statesville, one sister Sue Walker of Stony Point, two grandchildren, Justin Wike and Kristen Wike both of Statesville. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 PM at Stony Point United Methodist Church. The Rev. Sidney Lanier will officiate. Burial will follow in Iredell Memorial Gardens. Margaret Lackey Henderson, age 77 of 2331 Old Wilkesboro Rd., Statesville, passed away Thursday April 27, 2006 at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was born in Alexander County on August 10, 1928 daughter of the late Claude Lackey and Flossie Stewart Lackey. She worked in retail sales and was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Claudette Dancy and a grandson Adam Frazier. She is survived by her husband Rex Henderson Sr. of the home, two sons Rex Dean Henderson Jr. and wife Debbie and Byron Henderson and fiancee Debbie Wiggins all of Statesville, a daughter Renee' Bentley and husband Barry of Union Grove, one brother Conrad "Butch" Lackey and wife Karen of Hiddenite. two sisters, Nancy Rebecca "Becky" Wike of Hiddenite and Gwendolyn Cleary and husband J.C. "Buster" of Mocksville a brother in law Dean Dancy of Hiddenite, six grandchildren, Chad and Jeremy Bentley, Tyler, Garrett and Victoria Henderson and Abigail Frazier, and one great grandchild Bryson Avery Frazier. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday at 3:00 pm at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Parks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral. James Eugene Rhyne, age 71 of County Line Rd., Stony Point, passed away Sunday April 23, 2006. He was a retired textile worker and a member of Millersville Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Tim Rhyne and wife Denise and Eric Rhyne all of Stony Point, three daughters, Debbie Warren and husband Richard, Vickie Pierce and husband Jeff, Lori Pope and husband Roger all of Stony Point, one brother, Johnny Rhyne of Statesville, three sisters Hazel Couick of Ft. Mill SC, Helen Burdette of Statesville and Faye Logan of Newport News, VA, twelve grandchildren, Christy Lippard, Kita Warren, Shawn Pennell, Kessie Pennell, Kelly Pennell, Tyler Pierce, Anthony Rhyne, Megean Rhyne, Brandon Pope, Kinslee Lippard, Cody Rhyne and Marista Powers, also four great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Millersville Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Orren and Rev. Eddie Jolly will officiate. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in New Sterling ARP Church Cemetery. Lee Adolphus Phillips, age 35 of 327 Hwy. 70n E., Hildebran, passed away Thursday at home after an extended illness. He is survived by his father Walter Lee Phillips and his step mother Judy Ann Philliips of the home. Two brothers, Jack Hunt of Hiddenite and Richard Ray of Hildebran, one sister Melisa Buchanan of Morganton. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 23, 2006 at 3:00 PM at Clearvision Baptist Church in Statesville. The Rev. Jim Snead will officiate. James William "Sonny" Minton, age 69 of 235 Lodge Hall Ct., Stony Point, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in Iredell Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Alexander County on October 5, 1936, son of the late Johnny Minton and Gladys Deal Minton. He was a retired textile worker and attended Stony Point Tabernacle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Emma Jean Fox. He is survived by his fiancee Margie Greenfield of the home, two sons Robert Greenfield and Doug Greenfield both of Statesville, two daughters, Tammy Greenfield and Patty Baity both of Stony Point, two brothers, Billy Minton and Jerry Minton both of Stony Point and four grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday at 3:00 PM at Stony Point Tabernacle. Rev. Wes Hammer and Rev. Chuck Hager will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00-8:30 at Chapman Funeral Home. At other times will be at the home.
