Everette Austin
HUDSON - Mr. Everett C. Austin, 92, of Pine Mountain Road, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Caldwell County Hospice in Lenoir.
He worked for Fairfield Furniture for 36 years and was a deacon emeritus at Center Grove Baptist Church in Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Hall Austin; a son, Johnnie Austin; a brother, Lewis Austin; a sister, Sadie Ekard, and his parents, John A. and Julia Poovey Austin.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry Austin and his wife, Geneva, of Granite Quarry, Steven Austin and his wife, Reba, of Lawndale, and Don Austin and his wife, Happy, of Boone; a daughter, Mary Jo Setzer and her husband, Max, of Hudson; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Austin of Boone; a sister, Myrtle Hartley of Hudson; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Redding and Edd Warren officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Pendry's Funeral Home in Lenoir.

Dufaye Hamrick
SHELBY - Mr. Dufaye Hamrick, 84, of 1176 Wyke Road, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, he was retired from J.P. Stevens and was owner and operator of Hamrick's Grocery in Beaver Dam for 25 years. He was a lifelong member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T. Plato and Fannie Green Hamrick; five brothers, Nestor Hamrick, Morris Hamrick, Shafter Hamrick, Ralph Hamrick and Homer Hamrick, and a sister, Mildred Hamrick McGinnis.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Smith Hamrick; two daughters and their husbands, Brenda H. and Robert Petty and Heidi H. and Kenny Lloyd, all of Shelby; a son and his wife, Hal D. Jr. and Wanda Hamrick of Lattimore; a granddaughter, Cheryl Petty of Shelby; three grandsons, Geoff Lloyd and his wife, Kim, of Indianapolis and Greg Lloyd and his wife, Beth, and Brooks Hamrick, all of Shelby.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Ken Pruitt and Dr. Paul Sorrells officiating. Burial will be at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home and at 2302 Crosby Drive, Shelby, at other times.

SHELBY - Mr. Theron Farrow, 78, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Asheville.

CHERRYVILLE - Mr. Charles Clyde Mauney, 78, of 113 Studio Drive, died Sunday, February 10, 2002, at Carolinas Medical Center.

Nolan KnicelEy
SHELBY - Mr. Nolan Kniceley, 78, of 2922 Lake Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at his home.
A native of Braxton County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ward B. and Gracie Maude Hudkins Kniceley. He served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater and was a retired heavy equipment operator for Weiss Bros. Construction Co. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132 in West Virginia and was a member of Shelby Missionary Methodist Church, where he was a trustee and former Steward Board Chairman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Boyd and Roland V. Kniceley; and a daughter, Elizabeth Hope Kniceley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Keener Kniceley of the home; five sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Debbie Kniceley and Greg and Sharon Kniceley, all of St. Augustine, Fla., Allen and Frances Kniceley and Jeff and Melissa Kniceley, all of Shelby, and Shawn and Shelly Kniceley of Cherryville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy K. and Carl Porter of Shelby; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren and Euliss Kniceley of Gassaway, W.Va., Kenneth and Betty Kniceley of Charleston, W.Va., and Oscar and Laura Kniceley of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters, Ruby Kings of Cleveland, W.Va., and Geneva Bright of Cleveland, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 6 p.m. at Shelby Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Kniceley officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Kniceley-McRay Cemetery, Corley, W.Va.
The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the church, other times at the home and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Gibson-Stockard Funeral Home in Flat Woods, W.Va.
Memorials may be made to Shelby Missionary Methodist Church at 1402 Earl Road, Shelby, NC 28152; or to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

LAWNDALE - Mr. John P. Oates, 56, of 201 Powerhouse Road, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at his home.

'Toni' Dipietrantonio
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Antoinette "Toni" Dipietrantonio, 76, of 109 Quail Hallow Drive, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at White Oak Manor in Kings Moun-tain.
A native of Gallo, Italy, she was a homemaker and a Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pasquale and Carmella Rocchio Selletti; her husband, Frank Dipietrantonio; and her sister, Joann Delucia.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Paula D. and Steve Lekowitz of the home; two grandchildren, Dawn Nielson and her husband, David, and Laurie Grappo and her husband, Stephen; two great-grandchildren, Karlie Nielson and Kayla Viana.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Queens, N.Y. Burial will be in the Pine Lawn Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 at Farenga and Sons Funeral Home in Astoria, N.Y.

Lois Marriott
HENRIETTA - Mrs. Lois Whisnant Marriott, 90, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at Oak Grove Health Center in Rutherfordton.
A memorial service will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Avondale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Anthony Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.

BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mr. Homer Otto Moose, 68, of 363 Dickson Road, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at his home.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Hardin Baptist Church Cemetery in Dallas.

Willie Howell
SHELBY - The Rev. Willie T.R. Howell, 72, of 508 E. Graham St., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at his home.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Marcellous Mack officiating. Burial will be in Webb Memorial Lawns.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
Enloe Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
James Hunter
DENVER - Mr. James David Hunter, 80, of 482 N. Little Egypt Road, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at the home of his niece in Conover.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church with the Rev. Albert O. Perkins Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service at the church and other times at the home of a son Michael A. Hunter, 4120 N.C. 73, Iron Station.

'Red' Crawford
NEWTON - Mr. Glenn W. "Red" Crawford, 82, of 820 Hamilton St., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Brian Center East in Hickory.
Born Feb. 5, 1920, in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Pinkney and Roxie Ann Elliott Crawford. He was a member of North Newton Baptist Church. He was a watchmaker, jeweler craftsman, a member of the Watch Maker's Guild of Catawba Valley and a Third Degree Master Mason with St. John's, Lodge No. 333 A.F.&A.M. in Spartanburg, S.C.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Crawford, Frank Crawford and Noah Crawford.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Wood Crawford of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Becky Crawford of Durham and Dan and Sandra Crawford of Shelby; three grandchildren, Laura Crawford, Rebecca Crawford and Brooke Lee; a sister, Lucille Crawford Reavis of Statesville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Tommy McBrayer of Forest City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd King Jr. officiating. The body will be placed in the chapel 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are officers with Cleveland County Sheriff's Office. Honor Guards are officers with Catawba County and Cleveland County sheriff's offices.
The family received friends Friday at the funeral home.

Zorah Johnson
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Mrs. Zorah Loue Craig Johnson, 83, of 1432 N. Limestone, Gaffney, S.C., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002.
Born in Oconee County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel James Craig. She was a retired textile worker and a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Lyndall Mull of Greenville; two sons, R.A. Johnson of Indian Trail and James Gary Johnson of Shelby; a brother, Elmer Craig of Pelzer, S.C.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
The family will receive friends today from 12:30 p.m. until the service and at other times at her daughter's home.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
