FOREST CITY - Mr. Otis Morse, 77, of 168 Vickers St., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at home.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at Crowe's Funeral Home with the Rev. James Alewine officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Frosty Tanner Home for Children, in care of Jessica Stover, P.O. Box 845, Spindale, NC 28160.
Walter Edwards
LINCOLNTON - Mr. Walter W. Edwards, 73, of 615 Car Farm Road, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Cardinal Healthcare Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ebony & White Funeral Service.
Troy Watkins
FOREST CITY - Mr. Troy Watkins, 53, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Rutherford Hospital.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by The Thompson Brothers Funeral Home of Forest City.
'Lib' Strickland
CHESNEE, S.C. - Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Champion Strickland, 83, of 223 Oak St., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Systems.
Born in Gastonia, she was a daughter of the late Albert Beaty and Mary Davis Champion. She was a retired home health care nurse and was a charter member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church in Shelby, where she taught Sunday school and Training Union for 20 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Bill" Strickland.
She is survived by a daughter, Margery Young of Chesnee; two sons, Robert Strickland of Lawndale and Thomas Strickland of Shelby; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral will be held at noon Tuesday at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, with the Revs. Darrell Revels and Bryan Glisson officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Eggers Funeral Home in Chesnee.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to Putnam Memorial Baptist Church, 1146 County Home Road, Shelby, NC 28152, or to Piedmont Baptist Church, 5524 Chesnee Highway, Chesnee, S.C. 29323.

Edith Morrison
CHERRYVILLE - Miss Edith Maude Morrison, 89, of 1126 Cherryville Highway, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
The funeral is today at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Key officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family received friends Sunday.

'Joey' Morrow
GROVER - Mr. Joseph Alan "Joey" Morrow, 35, of 351 Runyan Road, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at home.
Born in Burke County, he was employed by Precision Walls of Charlotte as a foreman.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Sue Bridges and William Morrow Sr.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, William and Judith Morrow of Morganton, and mother and stepfather, Jane Bridges and Bill Bradley of Forest City; his fiancée, Pamela Canipe of Grover; a daughter, Roxanne Cooke of Grover; a brother, David Morrow of Grover; a sister, Renee Morrow of Morganton; an aunt, Suzanne Bridges of Shelby; and grandparents, Max and Grace Chapman of Morganton.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Revs. G.B. Brown and Roger Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Barbara Winn
BOILING SPRINGS - Mrs. Barbara Ledford Winn, 48, of 111 Gordon Ave., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late J.Z. Ledford. She was a housewife and a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Campbell Ledford of Shelby; her husband, James Winn of Boiling Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jason Self of Cherryville; a stepdaughter, Jeanne Winn of Charlotte; a stepson, Jack Winn of Norwalk, Conn.; a grandson, Jason Self Jr. of Cherryville; three sisters, Patricia Hudson of Lawndale, Joyce Ledford Woollums of Boiling Springs and Betty Mason of Shelby; a brother, Roger Ledford of Forest City; five nephews; two nieces; 5 great-nephews; and 4 great-nieces.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Boiling Springs Baptist Church with Drs. Carroll Page and Jim Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services and at other times at the home.

BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mrs. Rena Parker Martin, 79, of 490 Wren Wray Road, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at home.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Sanders and Dr. Charlie Barnard officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Z.T. Borders officiating. Burial will be in Webb Memorial Lawns.

Virginia Byrd
HICKORY - Mrs. Virginia Carol Goforth Byrd, 68, of 1441 4th St., S.W., died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Brian Center Viewmont.
Born in Cowpens, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Freeman and Rosa Woods Goforth. She belonged to Deliverance Hall Church of Christ and retired from Hickory Chair Co.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Lewis Rippy; three brothers, Jack Goforth, Roy Goforth and Broadus Goforth; and a sister, Climetine Surratt.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Byrd Sr. of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Patsy Rippy and Kemmer and Sarah Rippy, all of Hickory, and Frank Jr. and Sue Byrd of Conover; three daughters and a son-in-law, Rosie Mae and David Wilkes, Geraldine Knox and Roxanne Rippy, all of Hickory; a stepson, Jeffrey Covington, and stepdaughter, Pandora Covington, both of Hickory; a daughter-in-law, Mary Rippy of Hickory; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott and Betty Jean Goforth and Clyde and Nettie Goforth, all of Shelby; a sister and brother-in-law, Nettie and Plass Odoms of Hickory; three sisters-in-law, Annie Ruth Goforth, Kathleen Goforth and Eunice Goforth, all of Shelby; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Deliverance Hall Church of Christ, with Bishop Wade Danner officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

MOORESBORO - Mrs. Edith Lillian Parker Martin, 84, of 2504 Gaffney Road, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Crawley Memorial Hospital in Boiling Springs.
Born in Marlboro, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Ben and Judith Bosworth Parker. She was a homemaker and a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrie C. Martin.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. and Martha Fisher; a granddaughter, Jeannene McCraw; another granddaughter and her husband, Lori and Chris Hubbard, all of Mooresboro; a sister, Ethel Smith of Wadesboro; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Camps Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steve Durham and Ed Sessom officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service, and at other times at the home of her son, 2235 Camps Creek Road, Mooresboro.
