YONKERS, N.Y. - Mr. William Lloyd Kinlow, 37, of 5 Hudson St., died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Park Place in New Rochelle, N.Y.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Roger W. Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service at the church.
Ebony & White Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Billy Durbin
GASTONIA - Mr. Billy Eric Durbin, 38, of 1413 Mauney Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Born in York County, S.C., he was employed by Best in Plastics in the molding department.
He is survived by his parents, Clarence Durbin of Shelby and Billie Huskey Durbin of Earl; two daughters, Melissa Durbin and Erica Durbin, both of Gastonia; three stepsons, Kenny Glance, Justin Glance and Christopher Glance, all of Gastonia; a stepdaughter, Crystal Gilreath of Gastonia; a sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Major Lowery of Clover, S.C.; his fiancée, Sharon Glance of Gastonia; and a special aunt, Marsha Nichols of Earl.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy M. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens in York, S.C.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at his mother's home, 103 Knoll Drive, Earl.

Brenda Barbee
RUTHERFORDTON - Mrs. Brenda Gail Putnam Barbee, 46, of Petite Court, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at home.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Broad River Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Harrelson Funeral Home, Caroleen.

'Pat' Houser
CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Pansy "Pat" Josephine Witherspoon Pharr Houser, 94, of Alterra Sterling House, Shelby, formerly of Elm Street, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at home.
Born April 27, 1907, in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Moses and Sallie Eva Summit Witherspoon. She was retired from Carolina Freight. She was a homemaker and member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and former member of First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. Joseph Pharr and Dr. Forrest M. Houser; a son, Joe B. Pharr; two sisters, Virginia Witherspoon and Ruby Witherspoon; and a brother, Arthur Witherspoon.
She is survived by a daughter, Rachel P. White of Shelby; a son, Walter T. Pharr of Morganton; three stepchildren, Bill and Judy Houser of Cherryville, Mary H. Hull of Charlotte and Evangeline H. and Ed McMahan of Charlotte; a daughter-in-law, Paula M. Pharr of Atlanta; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Polly Chiswell of Cary and Doris and Richard Lynn of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Nell Little of Pembroke Pines, Fla.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Billy Lowe officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour before the service in the church fellowship hall.
Memorials may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, 310 W. Church St., Cherryville, NC 28021, or to First Presbyterian Church, 107 W. Academy St., Cherryville, NC 28021.
Carpenters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

'Dudley' Whitaker
ELLENBORO - Mr. Carl "Dudley" Whitaker, 75, of 221 Penny Lane, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Crawley Memorial Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Sherman and Lilly Holland Whitaker. He was a logger and pulpwood producer. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nellene Jones Whitaker of the home; a son, Alan Whitaker of Cary; a daughter, Barbara Greene of Ellenboro; a brother, Bob Whitaker of Shelby; three sisters, Pat Daves and Gail Price, both of Shelby, and Joyce Benfield of Lynchburg, Va.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, with Drs. Wayne Blackwood and James Whitlow officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his daughter, Barbara Greene, 185 Burns Road, Ellenboro.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, Family Life Center Fund, Box 633, Ellenboro, NC 28040.

Robert Dunlap
FOREST CITY - Mr. Robert Houston Dunlap, 66, of 180 Nottingham Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at home.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
Crowe's Funeral Home, Rutherfordton, is in charge of arrangements.

Odell Mitchem
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Odell Mitchem, 62, of Dixon School Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at his home.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by J.W. Gill and Sons Funeral Home.

Eliza Clark
CROUSE - Ms. Eliza Ann Clark, 94, formerly of St. Mark's Church Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Brian Center in Lincolnton.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Hephzibah Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Carpenter's Funeral Home, Cherryville.

Roger Wilkinson
MORGANTON - Mr. Roger Karl Wilkinson, 63, of 4617 Harbor View Terrace, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Born Feb. 15, 1939, in Moline, Ill., he was a son of the late Eugene Walter and Mabel Mae Carlson Wilkinson. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the Air Force during the Vietname War. He worked as a budget analyst with the U.S. government in Washington, D.C., until his retirement. He was teaching eighth grade at Burns Middle School. He was an avid snow skier, water skier and boater.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Lynn Wilkinson of the home; two sons, Todd Wilkinson of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Tim Wilkinson of Jacksonville, Fla.; four daughters, Tracy Sparks of Brandon, Fla., Kelly Robinson and Keri Wilkinson, both of Jacksonville, and Krystal Perry of Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Marian Anders of Austin, Texas; a stepson, Joshua Knisely of the home; and six grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Alex Cobb officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jacksonville.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Sossoman Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Nell Kirby
FOREST CITY - Mrs. Nell Doggett Kirby, 87, of Autumn Care Center and formerly of Doggett Road, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Rutherford Hospital.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Padgett and King Mortuary with the Rev. Billy Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Carol Champion
SHELBY - Mr. Carol Latham Champion, 65, of 1562 Branchville Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at home.
Born May 10, 1936, in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Grover Cleveland and Margaret Crotts Champion. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of Mulls Memorial Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Graham and Brenda Champion and Jimmy and Dianne Champion, all of Shelby; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Mulls Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Ervin Price officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.

Walter Edwards
LINCOLNTON - Mr. Walter W. Edwards, 73, of 615 Car Farm Road, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Cardinal Healthcare Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Poplar Springs AME Zion Church with the Rev. Karen Roberts-Miller officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service at the church.
Ebony and White's Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Genelia McSwain
SHELBY - Mrs. Genelia Wright McSwain, 83, of 1179 Dalton St., Shelby, formerly of Fallston, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
Born March 22, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Ava Phillip and Linnie Emmaline Leonhardt Wright. She retired from Barnette's Restaurant. She was a lifetime member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Noah Wright Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hillard "Slim" McSwain; a son, Carroll McSwain; two brothers, Thomas Wright and Edgar Wright; and a sister, Alice Wright.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Judy McSwain of Shelby and Mike and Carol McSwain of Fallston; a daughter and son-in-law, Gay and Keith Anthony of Kings Mountain; a daughter-in-law, Pat McSwain of Shelby; two brothers, C.C. Wright of Gaffney, S.C., and Lester Wright of Gastonia; two sisters, Kimmie Durbin of Fallston and Clara Beattie of Kings Mountain; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy McSwain, David and Rhonda McSwain, Shannon McSwain, Kelly and Eric Peeler, Amanda and Ray Austin, Adam McSwain, Greg and Sherry Anthony, Jena Grigg and Katie Anthony; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Eddie Ingram officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family received friends Monday at Stamey Funeral Home of Fallston. At other times, the family will be at the home of Harold and Judy McSwain, 1520 Barbee Road, Shelby.
Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church building fund, P.O. Box 219, Fallston, NC 28042.
